i think the cv's made arnav and khushi total opposites.

if arnav is super serious and khushi is super silly
if he is practical then she is emotional
if he is a planner she is chaotic in both action and thinking
if he is mature than she is immature

i think people are really hard on khushi but they forget that while arnav is very unforgiving to the people who wrong him khushi on the other hand forgives easily. a trait that is not easy to do

arnav is attractive bec of khushi she has never been shown to hate him no matter what he does or say to her. what hasn't he done to her. there is the borderline physical abuse topped with calling a her gold digger, cheap, low class etc etc.

but its khushi forgiveness of his actions that help us see the humanity and the heart of gold arnav has. and she not only does that for the audience but also for the other characters in the show. she has never let him fall in anyones eye. if she was hung up on every mean thing he has said on done to her. arnav would look real bad real fast.

so she is OTT with the comdey sometimes. if we can love arnav for throwing his future wife out his office window y cant we let it go with khushi.

remember

if khushi is OTT with comedy arnav is OTT with anger.

one out of context terrace hug and he planned on destroying khushi life for it... contract marriage, blackmail... that is OTT reaction as well

Sush:

Khushi's OTT was always there. Some r frustrated with this dragging of MU..the target is Khushi's comedy.

I disagree with u on this point. If khushi was shown to commit suicide to get the truth out of arnie then arnie would have treated her badly..that she can go to such extreme and play with his emotions for this. I am sure there will be equal number of dissatisfaction towards khushi's behaviour of playing with arnie's emotions..

So for me its far better ...she is doing this suicide innocently thinking arnie wants to be with La..WJy not? La-Arnie never disclose the reason behind their break up..Arnie not telling her the reason for marriage. HE is angry on her one moment and next day he is completely soften..now what girl will understand???

Hola Peeps, Happy Sunday..

About the kidnapping track,I agree this is an excellent chance to build Khushi up again. I am actually excited about that prospect. Also, this track can be used as Khushi "Dimaag ki Batti jalli" moment as to what exactly she feels for Arnie. Me likes based on what I assume the track could be about.
And well, if it is not, then I agree with everyone else that this just what we need to wean ourselves...😃

I concur veeps, this track seems to be designed just for the self realization of Khushi's feelings for Arnav. Given the care ASR's character has been portrayed through out, I anticipate that he would be the person who would come out a winner after this fiasco. I have a feeling that the CV's may have designed this as something ASR has already anticipated to confirm that Shyam has not changed, killing several birds with one stone if the track is played right - Khushi's feelings, ASR being shown as top of the game + Barun's much needed rest/break for his movie!

Hi Sush..

I belive viewers are stuck to one thing strongly at the moment - clearenace of MU , which is fairly understandable.Anything and everything is not accepted until its done in IPK.

Also all these other reason for such hues and cries is coz :

1. too much of expectation from viewers , which is not wrong but the time is wrong for expectations as Cvs have decided nothing much to show until IPL is over.

2.Over analyzing of episodes and characters too.

I dont think there is anything concrete happening until IPL is over to be honest.

All these spoilers and promo will be misleading as the creatives are not giving what actually needs to be delivered, its all being diluted in their execution and somewhere i feel CVs are not sure on how and which track to go for but the show must go on is what we see or what we will be seeing until end of this month - the diluted version of IPK.

If their thought process and strategy were different then they could have given though completion and still made viewers stick to their show with good TRPs showing progress in story .

I really feel pity to actors as they are handled out such weak scripts to do which they still need to continue until IPL.Poor actors still do justice for scripts handed to them.

Most importanly, comedy has worked and proved its number when it comes to TRPs time and again coz even the intense tracks at times have failed to garner those TRPs in IPK, also without any story progress the TRPs have rocked in past.

Until IPL all the mundane stuff is here to stay and I feel bad for actors who are taking all the criticism and bashings for that as they are the faces of IPK. They are delivering exactly what the script demands and scripts are playing the game of hopes coz the show must go on .

Execution will be back on track and on bang from June onwards which i'm sure until then we are left only with 2 days( or 1 day ) of hope and 3 days ( or 4 days ) of disappointment at present .They are still decent in terms of TRPs currently and all these spoilers, articles and interviews are only making their voices heard to viewers and make us glued to show , thats it.(marketing )

Even unworthy tracks and episodes will rock as it did in past coz it all comes down to execution which will be from June both from PH and the channel.

Love,
Ash

I don't mind the comedy, I have the Khushi trying to spread her brand of happiness to everyone around her. That is her MO ... what I have a problem with is when the comedy has no bearing on the story and is disconnected from the story.

Right now they are behaving as if they have a sitcom where they go from one silly skit to the next. The main story doesn't move anywhere...it remains stagnant.

Hi Sush, thanks for the post and finally back as I procrastinate on some work stuff that I really should look at before Monday madness hits. But this is way more fun 😊

As for our beloved Khushi I think the very fact that viewers feel so strongly about her OTT comedy is because they feel emotionally invested in the characters and to that extent the team of IPKKND has done fabulous job in terms of the initial unveiling of the story and build up of the characters. They seem to have lost it somewhere now but will come back to that in bit. I doubt there are many soaps on Indian TV that have managed to achieve this kind of loyalty and an almost possessiveness towards the lead characters!

I have always liked Khushi for being spunky, funny, tad crazy, tad OTT while still being very sensitive and empathetic. The earlier comedy worked because they stayed true to these characteristics- she would have indulged in good hearted fun but the inherent caring personality was always there to be seen. Lately the comedy has not been as linked to the plot line or the plot line itself is flawed but either way there is a disconnect. Add to that her sensitive nature gets buried under thick layers of comedy which makes it difficult to relate.

The other thing I find odd is when comedy is equated with being silly/ stupid. Quite frankly I just don't get why someone has to act completely silly in order to be funny. Comedy can and often is very intelligent and serious business.

Some of the sequences that you have put in your post were superb and did not seem to test the viewer's intelligence. Lately that has not been the case. Sanaya is of course superb at being funny and the producers are using it unfairly to the point where honestly there are days when it's difficult to sympathise with Khushi's character when she is certainly the underdog here.

As for LM, I don't know if his presence (or absence) can be creditede with the ups and downs the soap has seen. The epi where Khushi is shown to be spot jogging and screaming her lungs ( and our ears ) out after the GH bathroom sequqnce fell in the OTT category and used to be my bar earlier for K's irritating antics. I think LM may still have been there when that was shown. Sadly that bar has now been breached😕

I am hopeful though that with the reveal set for Monday ( I hope it's the whole reveal) things are going to take a turn for the better. We will have the chance to see a feisty Khushi determined to clear her name and drill some sense into Mr. raizada in the process. After all without Khushi there is no fun in this storytale, Barun's cute looks notwithstanding 😃

cheers

Good points purple...
There are many types of comedies...Yes...there is the witty kind, the sarcastic kind...and then there is the physical comdey...Remember Seinfeld? Seinfeld himself was the first kind...teh sarcastic witty subtle one...but then there was Cramer the physical comedian...
Khushi is the physical comedian...falling, doing bloopers, screaming and all is a part of that package...and thats OK...
I think that she has had the short end of stick and criticism...more easily directed towards her ...which is not so fair...Yes...I think in March, April...the writers lost the consistency is her charcaterization and comedy was not any more enjoyable...specially various bathroom scenes...But before that...even there was a lot of physical comedy element in her comedy ...including the running and all in GH bathroom scene...I enjoyed it...The context was very well set...She was FREAKING OUT to see Arnie in her bathroom...and that was that...Not fair to say...an intelligent person will not FREAK OUT IN a certain way...😃
Shastra...You have a point about Khushi facing criticism...even if they showed that she was doing it to find out the truth...Then she would have been accussed of lying and cheating and playing with his emotions and all...😲
ALL I CAN SAY IS CUT HER SOME SLACK PEOPLE😃
Savvy...I hope you are right about the upcoming rack being a self realization one for Khuhsi...I think may be all the Arnie scenes in GH were done for building FBs for her...
I just hope they don't show Shyamu torturing Arnie...I will run away if they do...😕
Ash...good points...some times we are all guilty of analyzing too much...It is like being the day traders on Wall Street...Trying to analyze and making sense of evey move in the stock...which is really futile...
Finally...Rag1NI...weren't you suggesting a fusion of CID and IPKKND? Well I guess we have that with the kidnapping track...😆😆😆😆

Hello Sush and All,
I'm back to the US so hopefully will participate in the discussions more often😊.
Khushi's comedy is not a bad thing, i totally agree with you on that. Sanaya has great comic timing, if only they used her in light hearted scenes and not screaming and yelling for no reason. The problem lies in the inconsistency in Khushi's character and the silliness of the script which reduces her to a 6 year old at times.
I think there is a big difference in showing a 23 year old with a positive never say die attitude, a bubbly character and one who tries to find good in every situation and portraying someone as silly, totally immature and completely annoying at times. Khushi shifts to OTT at the most unfit times, i remember they had showed the first dumb charades scene with Arnav the day after she was forced to engaged to Shyam and a couple days after the diwali heartbreak. The timing just did not gel well. Again in the marriage track her antics to annoy Arnav don't gel with someone who is facing a crisis situation in her life. Plus the suicide track, which great in concept to really push the guilt button in Arnav when he finds out the truth just does not have as much an impact on viewers because instead of feeling sorry for Khushi I'm irritated with her and just want to get the track over with so that we can move on.
I'm really looking forward to the truth revelation this week and the subsequent kidnapping in the ME. I'm sure ASR will be great and in character as usual i just hope they use this opportunity to show what Khushi feels for Arnav and why despite everything she cant walk away from him and not turn it into comedy again!
