Doods, tere charano me pranaam. The amount of effort you have put into decoding the episodes is simply humbling. Thanks so much. Would never have imagined such links. What would we do without you and the rest of the gurus of redux.

I liked

Arnav's concern

Khushi starting her will with Anjali and nani - will Arnav notice

I don't know about the rest of you but I was ROFL when she was trying to suffocate herself with the pillow.

I did not like the Babli bit. This kid is coming across as a jilted girlfriend. They better improve this sub track.

Waiting for the confrontation and truth.

Have a good weekend all.

Hi, doods, i cant dream in my dreams that its all about fables... But truly speaking they should have used other way to get the truth out from arnav's mouth.. why the comedy way.. i know the fear of loosing Khushi can definitely make Arnav open up his mouth, but why comedy.. Is it a comdey serial... the initial promos were so intense... why they switch to comedy ???

Your analysis is superb...

Doodhs - Good morning! 🤗
Okay - first of all I was so pissed with the execution of the episode yesterday - I cannot even say. Frankly speaking I cannot watch the show with hidden meaning always! For me it was nothing but a waster of time and nothing else. I need to watch it just for the story and the story that is visible to the eye - I tried decoding but I just could not get over Khushi's ridiculous suicide mission. Why could not it have done in a better way!?
Coming to your post - Thank you so much for being there. That is the only solace that I find these days! Fables - who would have thought and linked!? But you did! 👏 👏 I really did not see any significance - but now that you have explained the 6 tales - which I will read if I get the time - then I can understand the thought process! However I still maintain that even though the thought process is brilliant then the execution should be also worth it. Otherwise what is the point if it results in nothing but falling TRP's and results in the loss of the interest of the viewers!?
Anyways brilliant - Thanks for showing us the deep insight into the episode! 😊
And dont you quit - you are the hope of every IPKKND watcher - if not for you and Sathya - I would have given up on this show long back! So please do not quit.

Doods : We spoke before on this - You have no clue how are you helping people. Why are you speaking about quitting. The work you and Tants are doing is not simple and easy, it cascades to distinct people and age groups. Though all are not active participaants still they are silent readers, the message is accepted and relayed.
Speak something positive doods : not negative - it does not jell with your personality.
On your take - for you it was just decoding Da-vinci code but for me it is a quest for finding the 'Holy Grail'. It was really very difficult to think on these lines - except the story of "wolf and Lamb" she was speaking about. I knew something was hidden in that - the rest stories it was in vacuum.
As Anna said : What is the significance when a creative side is providing information with clues that is beyond the comprehension of a common man analytical ability. So to understand a episode of 20 minutes we have to spend more than four hours of our daily time. Where are we leading to?
No wonder the TRP is falling and no wonder even the intellectual brains want to quit.
I have to thank you for the time dedicated for us in the forum - invaluable time. - Thank you once again
Doods : This analysis has taken the first spot from Norwester - the main reason being the effort you had taken I salute your spirit and dedication. Therefore, today's analysis takes the first spot. Love you again.
Love

Fabulous analysis and weaving of different fables to showcase the big picture. WOW - what a complex web the CV's have created. How on earth is the lay person watching the show going to decipher all this? After I watched it I did not give it a second thought and was just relying on the maata and pita of REDUX - you and Tanths to decode it.

The only little bit of connection my 3 working brain cells could make was the scenario related to 'suicide'. From Arnav's FB's we can safely assume that his mom committed suicide and it was not an accidental shot that killed her. So I thought when he will witness Khushi's attempt all his past demons related to it will surface and will lead to the outburst of telling Khushi the truth.

I hope the comedy circus ends now and we go back to intensity and seiousness of the characters.

And finally Doods please explain the sentence - 'If I never watch IPK again...' - what was that? 😲

ONE STEP CLOSER TO THE EDGE (PART I)

Alright, Part I is for people who need a clearer insight into why Khushi has contemplated suicide. It also explores the importance of the terrace scene and the impact death has on Arnav.

Part II is a lighter piece on the episode (The Will and Khushi-Arnav). So, if you want to skip the first part, just scroll down for the second part, and if you have to quote me, please quote only the part important to you and not the whole post (This is to make it easier for the other members, and also to maintain neatness in the thread). Thanks!

====================================================================

Today's post may not be written very coherently, and that's because there are so many thoughts in my head, that I'm not sure which to pen down and which to leave out. Yesterday's episode may have seemed OTT to many, but there was a lot of unsaid themes that brought a scary picture to me.

Repression --> Delusional ---> Neurotic: This is what has become of Khushi. A girl who lived and laughed for others all this while, has now planned to give up her life as it is the only sensible way out for her right now. Over the months, she has tried to repress her feelings of hurt, pain, betrayal and mockery - you always wondered why she never showed any feelings, right? Well, this is the reason. How can you express your feelings after they have been thwarted and after you've bound them to an iron block and sunk them in a deep ocean? Those innocent feelings in Khushi's heart faced a premature death, and they were replaced by lack of trust, denial, lack of belief and general loss of rationalization.

Khushi has always been a simple girl, straightforward with her ideas, morals and values. She is the girl who has never failed to bring a smile to other's faces no matter how broken she was inside (remember her nautanki at Holi to manofy Naniji?). We always wondered, how a person could go through such serious circumstances in the most comic way possible. From Khushi's perspective, she could do two things - wallow in despair or live life like before. So, being the drama queen that she is, Khushi chose the latter and went about with her bollywood antics.

The above was her Ego defence mechanism at work. Khushi being a gentle soul and having a sensitive heart, wouldn't really have been able to bear the brunt of accepting the pain. So her mind decides to push all those unwanted harsh memories somewhere safe, out of harm's way.

But alas, repressing memories and emotions is not exactly healthy. It builds up the burden as time goes by. Add a constant stressor (Arnav) into the picture and you can see why Khushi went so rapidly downhill and right into major anxiety.

According to psychological findings, anxiety disorder can lead to suicidal tendencies
. All it needs is a recurrent and intense stressor (a major life event). This stressor can cause the victim to undergo a range of disturbing emotions: sadness, nervousness, insomnia, worry, desperation and suicidal thoughts, among others.

To further add to Khushi's highly disturbed state of mind was the idea that Arnav was planning to kill her in order to marry Lavanya. This is where her 'Delusions' began.

To quote: "
Delusional disorder refers to a condition associated with one or more non-bizarre delusions of thinking-such as expressing beliefs that occur in real life such as being poisoned, being stalked, being loved or deceived, or having an illness, provided no other symptoms of schizophrenia are exhibited."

Remember, her mind is at it's weakest point right now, it is already filled with confusing, irrational thoughts. Arnav's behaviour has been extremely inconsistent with her all this time. She has no base on which to believe or trust him. Her coping abilites are no longer strong enough to deal with this additional trauma, and the main point - she is unable to confide all these pent up anguish to anyone! Human nature, or the human soul is unable to continue for long when secrets and deep seated conflicts are harbored in the heart. It eats away at the soul and mind.

You remember in yesterday's post I talked about the cracks and fissures developing in Khushi? Well, you can see that materializing now - the fact that Khushi has planned to give in to Laad Governor's idea of killing her by committing suicide, you can see that her mind, heart and soul cannot take it anymore.

This is her Neurosis. Repression of pain led to the birth of Delusions which further lead to the point of Neurotic tendency - neurosis is a display of Khushi's invisible injuries.

Seeing Arnav with various 'murderous tools' in his hands all morning, she is convinced that he IS truly after her life. Her delusions cause her to take death into her own hands, and to die by her own hands rather than by anyone else's.

What does this tell you? Hmmm..? It tells that Khushi isn't that far gone... yet. She still maintains enough love for herself and others that she takes the time to make a will, leave her precious items for the others, and is willing to confront death on her own terms.

=================================================================

Now I want to move on to the other thoughts that struck me: The Terrace and The Impact of Suicide on Arnav.

THE TERRACE

The Terrace was where the blooming love story between Arnav and Khushi was cut short by a nasty thorn called Shyam. Arnav was just getting out of ASR's skin, and Khushi was realizing that she felt something for this man. A sweet confession between two people in love was however not destined for that day.

The Terrace was where Arnav had his infant love broken - a love he had been careful to let out. A love that he carried only for his sister till then. For the first time, that love was daring to come out of it's shell, but to what consequence? It reaffirmed ASR's belief that to love is to be weak. Power and money alone is what the world understands. There is no place for love.

The Terrace was the undoing of Khushi's steps toward love. In one moment her innocent, picture-perfect world collapsed in shambles as she saw the greed of a monster who wanted more than his share in life. This was soon followed by a further death of her values and morals when in order to save her sister's marriage she chose to marry the man she thought was her Rajkumar, but who know had taken the disguise of a Shaitan.

Once again now, the Terrace is going to be the scene of a Confrontation. The last time, it left two lovers disillusioned with the world. Will it close the gaps by widening the gaps between these two? There are gaps in understanding between them right now - a confession of the truth, a vocalization of the reasons may help close the gaps currently existing in the understanding, but it may also lead to the distancing between them too.

Remember the 'friction' and the widening of the cracks I said yesterday? Yeah.. that'll probably be it.

THE IMPACT OF SUICIDE/DEATH ON ARNAV

If there's one thing that touches the raw nerve of Arnav like no other, it is - DEATH of a person he loves. He has seen the death of his mother as a child. He has been left scarred with that incident. He hasn't allowed anything to cover that hole, that wound in his heart. He is still traumatized by it and he is still unable to cope with the idea of Death.

He is on extreme tenterhooks when Anjali talks about Death.
Remember the scene where she mentions to Khushi, that may her years be given to Khushi... and Arnav immediately forbids her from talking like that. he is highly disturbed on hearing anything to do with his loved ones dying.

So, will it be any different with Khushi's suicide attempt? I don't think so! He had already lost his nerve and heart when he though Khushi had faced an accident. He was so frightened at the time that he didn't realize how roughly he was shaking her while demanding to know why she had to leave like that, and what he would have done without her.

He has already softened his stance with her after hearing Garima's wishes that they live happily together. He can't see her face death, he can't see her die, and that is why he will go up there, in a highly disturbed state he will let his emotions take control over his mind. His heart will make him speak with Khushi's extreme action.

======================================================================

I admit that they could have handled the current suicide track in a better way. When I thought about it, i felt that if they had given a serious tone to it, it would have damged Khushi's character even more, but since it's been put in a slightly comic way - people can still put this down to Khushi's draamebaazi and child-like silliness. Anyway, Khushi would not have committed suicide even if Arnav had not gone there. I BELIEVE IN MY KHUSHI, she wouldn't have done it!

Wanted to write about the significance of her Will.. I'll carry it out in PART TWO tomorrow... 😊

======================================================================

ONE STEP CLOSER TO THE EDGE (PART II)

Aaah, after all the heaviness of explaining Khushi's actions, my mind has reached saturation point. 😃 Really need something light, so chalo... Warning, today no points - I'm just going into a free flow with my thoughts, which may sound scrambled and confused, but please bear with me, and if you can't, well, there are other posts for you to read 😆 okay, joke time over... let's wander into ArHi land:

Where there's a Will there is Anjali ! 😆 I know everyone has noticed this major factor in both Arnav's and Khushi's Will. (Remember that Arnav's Will is not the real deal right now, but still Anjali is important to him). So, it was nice to see how much space Arnav has in Khushi's heart - she places the most important person of HIS life as the first one in HER will (though in the note-book Amma-Bauji's names are shown right at the top).

Anjali is the one who welcomed Khushi in RM by telling her to put her right food forward first. The bond between Khushi and Anjali started right there, on the right note and in the right way. Anjali has constantly been by Khushi's side, yes, she was disappointed with the hasty Arnav-Khushi marriage, but she was also the only family member in RM who spoke to Khushi in a civil manner during this period.
Anjali has been the one who constantly brings Arnav and Khushi together, every time they part, she makes them meet again - Lavanya, Diwali, pregnancy... (sorry, if I missed out any any other incidents).

Khushi and Arnav are certainly the leads of the show, but it is Anjali who puts them in that position - she is the invisible super-lead of this show (yeah, I invented the word super-lead 😛)

When i saw Khushi writing down her will, leaving her precious items for everyone (except Shyam), I was reminded of the selfless girl that she was. Thoughtful caring, sympathetic - all the original Khushi characteristics were present as she left gifts that would come in use for every family member. Even before death, she thinks about the likes of others. That's our real Khushi, isn't she? The stars - no prizes for guessing who she thought of in that moment! Won't speculate here, would like to see how it unfolds.

It was nice to see Arnav concerned over Khushi's weird behaviour. He is quite used to her antics by now, and this time he knows that something is disturbing her. He keeps asking her "tum theek ho?" He has established a comfortable bond with the GH ladies (where is Shashiji again?) It was so 'husband-like' when he took the glass of milk for Khushi (yes, mostly it's the wife who takes it for the husband, but the fact that he did - sighhh 😍) After many days found something symbolic here - the milk, to me, represented a peace offering - to let bygones be bygones, and to move on for the remainder 3 months - but it's come a bit too late, Khushi suspects every action of his now and refuses to see him in a clearer light. (There are 3-4 more interpretations to this, but I liked this one best)

I can't help reiterate the point that Khushi and Arnav are the 'X' and 'Y' axis, respectively, that I mentioned in IP Redux: Nor'wester post. If one of them is heading in a positive direction, then the other goes into the negative direction. It is only when they work together toward the same direction that things will get clear between them. Right now, Arnav has taken the positive turn, Garima's words and his own words to the groom Ankur made him realize that he wasn't being fair in his own married life. He is working toward being a better person, a good husband, and son-in-law. On the other hand we have Khushi who is taking the negative path by being obsessed with the idea that her husband is out to kill her. All his good actions are seen in a dark light - she misconstrues his concern, his help and his words at every turn. They are both heading in opposite directions right now, but will the terrace help them work toward the same destination gradually?

Khushi's will is so typical Khushi
- leave something for everyone she loves, no matter how small, old, used or different the thing is. A healing, natural murabba for Anjali and the baby (speaks a lot about how she wants to ensure that Anjali and the baby will be healed by the oncoming disturbances), a bell for Laxmi (Bell and a goat) - Bells have various interpretations, but the fact that a Bell and a Goat have been used together makes me feel that, Khushi (being the sacrificial lamb/scapegoat) will be the one who will ring the death bell for Shyam. (Bells are considered to dispel Satan, ward off evil and this is how I saw it in this scenario). Safed jooti for Nani (A shoe can be protection, a connection to ground reality - Nani will be herself throughout the topsy-turvy world soon to come, she will see and understand everything from her own standpoint.) Savings for Buaji (Buaji took them in when they needed a safe place to stay, she is the sole earner and this will help her in future, however little the amount may seem). Khushi leaves her suit to Payal - a connection, an unbreakable bond between them, and her pure love she leaves for her parents who have given her family and love all these years.

In all this I couldn't help sympathize with these two. Both starved of real true love, both in need of care, support, and understanding. Both keeping so many hurts, pain and tears in their injured hearts. Both yearning to believe the other, to trust each other, to walk together but unable to do so because they are afraid to let their emotions overcome them and destroy their hearts. Both vulnerable, scared, both wanting just to be comforted, to have someone by their side to ease their pain and tell them that they are not alone. Just a caring touch, a loving look, a comforting hand, an understanding mind, a thoughtful gesture, a trusting heart, safe arms and a pillar of support.

They are so alone deep in their hearts.

======================================================================

P.S: It was a bit overwhelming to see people responding to Part One, didn't expect the reactions, and I haven't yet answered everyone, sorry for that, will answer tomorrow. Also, thank you to those who appreciated my POV regarding Khushi, and also those who questioned it. I'm especially glad that some of you questioned it since I got to see valid points that I never thought of before!
