I didnt think it looked like a smirk... it was a slightly lopsided frown.. but he wasn't smiling ... it was an expression of guilt and a lil pain seeing her look so sad and hearing about her dreams which he shattered.

Definitely pain for not letting her have her dream wedding...Through that expression he was trying to convey to her that he felt her pain...

i know there definately was guilt n pain for hurting her...

She was looking at him in the mirror. That's why it looked like he was smiling.

He was probably smiling at the irony of life.He was in love with someone who he was going to propose to and instead of proposing to her,he blackmailed her into marrying her.

i am also confused yaar.because of the current setup,let us think he is regretting slightly
