Just my thoughts that cascaded
"The family that eats together stays together too
" – as I was viewing the episode, my thought premises just captured this adage. Even when I was reading Tants and Doods analysis – they emphasized on similar lines – Adithi Devo Bava and Baad mein hum "Rasoi" mein jagah bana lenge. It speaks volumes about hospitality towards a guest and that is my subject today.
When ASR arrives at the Gate of the GH, what awaits him is the Rangoli, when Khushi was able to scale the path with ease, there was Arnav struggling to scale the path and finally, he arrives aided with Khushi. In a subtle manner, the CV portrayed that the terrain is new to him but still he will make inroads. Personally, Khushi's antics with the sentiments, believes, paradigm of ASR never made an impact, what necessitated me is the Character Arnav how he will react to odd situations. Throughout his life, he faced his adverse moments – but only his adversity remained a catalyst to spring him to action.
Financial Instability and Damaad of the family
From today's episode, he came to direct contact regarding the financial instability the Gupta family is facing. Their breadwinner was Khushi and pension of Buaji, however, the financial impediment did not thwart to make their Son-in-law happy. That moment ASR realized the pain and anguish the family faced by his actions unintentionally, as a taskmaster he downright got the provisions for the family.
During the first time when he installed the AC without their consent, his decision-making was purely seeking his basic amenities required for his stay whereas today he did not deride the family values; he gave a name for that gesture. He super imposed himself as the damaad and that it his undisputed right.
How did he use this sentence? He knew that the validity of his marriage is only for a period of six months and already 3 months had elapsed. In this juncture to use that means, irrespective of his relationship with their daughter, still their elder daughter is married to his household. There is Payal Raizada at RM intact and he merits himself to that position as Jatji. That is the Hallmark of the character Arnav Singh Raizada.
Baad mein hum "Rasoi" mein jagah bana lenge.
As Doods pointed out it is a powerful sentence in the episode. When the provisions did not fit into the kitchen, the told the delivery people leave the items in the hall baad Mein hum "Rasoi" mein jagah bana lenge. This sentence is not just applicable for Arnav it is equally applicable to the people of GH. The relationship they had with ASR had always seen the ebb and flow. Whatever happened prior was not applicable now, but they deserved to know the answer why he married their daughter in haste? It is a genuine question. They never challenged his integrity; they accepted him with all his whims and follies.
Arnav, deep down has to reciprocate that unadulterated love and concern shown by them. He will find his place reserved in the kitchen, the place where house becomes a home. He has to work towards that goal, as the entire family became prey to his mistakes, this adds to his path of redemption.
Powerful word "AMMA"
Everyone asks this question when the child starts speaking what is the first word the child uttered. 90% of the children utter the word "MAA" in their respective language.
The spat he had with Khushi for the usage of that one word apart his mother is very meaningful. We do not call everyone "AMMA", when someone calls you mother, implies that person had worked towards that goal – we have to earn that word.
No wonder Garima Ji, earned that word from Payal and Khushi, therefore, it was natural for Garima ji to ask what he prefers to eat for dinner, and he is unused to that statement. He was completely taken by surprise and his instant reply was something palatable not from health perspective. He is a man who has no penchant for food, therefore, food served hot, cold; amidst gathering or solitary confinements makes no relevance. He habituated to eat as a requisite for survival. Therefore, his absenteeism in the dining table never made an impact in RM; on the contrary, Buaji and Ammaji await the arrival of the son-in-law.
More noted scene was Amma ji becomes ambivalent whether the son-in-law will relish the food and Buaji reassuring that ASR will love the food and want to serve him hot.
The world of "Golgappa"
As the family waits for the imminent arrival of ASR, there he comes with a laden of food. A classic performance from Barun, as ASR cannot portraying his emotions verbally simultaneously he is burdened with guilt for his bad manners. He did not hesitate for a second in apologizing for hurting their feelings; his did it twice in the same time as he did to Payal also previously. The discerning hosts understood the intricacies in their relationship and for them the individual makes the difference than the word he employs to address them. Arnav Singh Raizada already made the difference in the precincts of Gupta House.
During the soiree, he understood the taste buds of his wife's family and purchased Golgappa. He wanted to pacify his crazy wife and quite aware of her infirmities towards food. He not only won the deal but also accolades from his Sasural, as he remained a silent spectator sipping tea while the family was indulging in Golgappa.
