Today, I could not post early and then before writing, I did the biggest mistake which I never, ever do. I read Dood's analysis (Lovely analysis, Doods) and it totally clouded my outlook. I had almost decided not to write but there was something that kept pricking at the back of my mind and I had to jot it down, so here we go...
Below is my analysis:
"To tum pareshan thi..."
How sarcastically this was said...but still such as apt question for Khushi Kumari Gupta from Arnav's POV.
From that fateful day, we always knew that Arnav was hurt, Arnav was shattered and we all were looking forward to his redemption but we really had no idea what Arnav went through that day, what his state of mind was after he found out that the base of his whole world, his jija, his love was all wrong. Yes, we have seen his emotions, we have seen the pain, we have seen the hurt but other than that one time, when he said "What about the chot you have given me", he has never vocalized his feelings. He never spoke about it, he never let it know how difficult it was to take that decision, a decision that would not only affect him but also his family and especially his sister. a decision that would change his whole life.
Today, was the first time he spoke those words aloud, today was the first time he gave insight to his state of mind on that fateful day and today I want to write about his journey as I just feel a whole lot of sympathy for that boy to whom fate has dealt a blow not once but twice in the past and the fatal one is yet to come...
Previously, before the Shyam - Khushi revelation, Khushi slowly but steadily had started influencing Arnav Singh Raizada. and it was changing his opinion of hers and his outlook of life. She was one of the least likely person to affect him but her innocence, her values, her behavior was slowly affecting this very cynical man. This man who thought only power and money were important, had started giving little importance to relationships, in fact had started seeing his servants as human beings. The man who never cracked a smile had started finding things amusing, had started flirting and only occasion even started laughing. The glimpses of the broken soft boy who lived behind the hard facade of ASR had started coming out. The boy was healing, the boy had started believing, the boy had started seeing the beauty of love and beauty of the world.
That boy had travelled so much that he was ready to risk everything, go against everything he believed, to reveal his love to the girl who was responsible for making such drastic change in him. But alas, what did he get? Heartbreak...pure, solid Heartbreak. The boy who had taken 8 months to come out of his shell was rudely shown the reality, was rudely thrown to ground, was rudely destroyed, was rudely broken in much worse way than before. Any other person at that moment would want to go hide, would want to go lick his wounds, would want to curl and die. Arnav wanted to do exactly that, he wanted do nothing but to cry, to remain broken, to hide and heal his wounds. He wanted to do that but he knew his sister's justice was more important than his own, he wanted to set things on the correct path before dealing with his own feelings but did he have that luxury? NO... Life had again betrayed him and fate did not want to give him a chance to heal. It had once again given him that load of responsibilities that it had given him once before, to protect his sister, to protect her child and to protect her happiness. This time like last time he had no choice but to resurrect that facade, resurrect that veneer which had helped him previously and he did. We all saw ASR coming out of Arnav, we all saw Arnav becoming ASR, the emotionless and cynical person whose only goal was to ensure that nothing ever harmed his sister.
And thus he set about on the journey to ensure his sister's happiness, right or wrong he did not care, he did not have the luxury to care. Thus even though family was important to him, he did not let their beliefs stand in his way. he knew how important his marriage was to his sister, but he did not let her dreams stand in his way, he knew he had to face the person who betrayed him everyday but he did not let that faze him. When Aakash provided him with the oppotunity, he grabbed it with both the hands and used it to cut both his enemies in one stroke.
So this guy, in spite of his belief in marriage, in spite of knowing his family's belief in marriage, in spite of his sister dreams about his marriage, took the most difficult decision to get married, a decision which resulted in hurt, pain and a truckload of guilt. "Pareshani" is such a mild word to describe his state of mind for that fateful day, and it is really nothing compared to what Khushi went through the previous night. His sarcastic jibe "Ki tum pareshan thi?" was really a question to her that do you really know the meaning of the word, do you really have any idea what "Pareshani" I had to go through because of you. Its really a wonder he does not hate her, but, well, love happens only once.
Kaisa laga bina galti kiye guilty feel karna
This guy's one decision which he had to take because of someone's else sin, someone else's fault, resulted in his sister;s tears, resulted in him not being able to meet his sister's eyes, resulted in a guilt so strong that he had to shut himself in the room because he could not meet his sister's eyes, could not explain to her why he had to crash her dreams, could not explain to himself, how in spite of various promises, he was once again responsible for her tears. This guy's one decision which he had to take because of someone's else sin, someone else's fault, resulted in him feeling so guilty because he became responsible for his family's hurt and pain. This guy's one decision which he had to take because of someone's else sin, someone else's fault, resulted in him feeling so guilty because once again he had proved that he was his father's son. This guy's one decision which he had to take because of someone's else sin, someone else's fault, resulted in him being guilty because a girl was hit by her mother because of him. This guy's one decision which he had to taken because of someone's else sin, someone else's fault, resulted in him being guilty because a girl was accusing him of making her an orphan again.
"Ki sab kuch natak tha"
As I said today, he really vocalized most of his feelings and one was "Ki sab kuch natak tha". I feel this was really his defense mechanism. When Anjali told him how Khushi took care of him, he remembered all those past days when he had started thinking about Khushi as the light of his day and he remembered how his world had come crashing around him. Once before he had believed her, one before he had trusted her and his whole world had shaken on his axis. Today, Khushi again was trying to to show him her old self by being nice to him,by taking his care. Her behavior was clouding his judgement, trying to make him believe that she was good and he could not afford to believe it. To survive, his only defense against her is that he has to keep believing that Khushi is a "farebi", that she is not the good girl, she is trying to portray, that she is not the caring person, that as previously she was doing "natak" to win him and his family over, today also she is doing "Natak" to win him and his family over. For him, his only weapon against Khushi is his undaunting belief that, " kitna bhi jaan lo, kabhi kabhi kisiko pehchana bahot hi muskill ho jaata hain". This is what, according to him, will keep him safe, will keep him from trusting her again, will keep him from believing in her again. How ironic, right?
I loved it when after Khushi asked him "par Kyun", Arnav's head went a little behind as if he was surprised that she was asking this question when he is supposed to be asking it, that what purpose was behind her "Good act".
Anjali-Arnav
In the first scene, in the mirror, Anjali is standing behind Arnav. She is hidden as if Arnav is a wall behind which she is safe. Arnav is protecting her, ensuring that nothing ever touches her, ensuring her happiness, being the person who will absorb all her unhappiness and if need be, sacrifice his own happiness for her. Then Anjali comes and stand next to him, both side to side. I feel that initially Anjali will use Arnav to ensure her happiness, she will not stop him from sacrificing it if it ensures that her world remains perfect but when she realizes the truth, when she finds out about Shyam's reality, she will step forward. She will not protect Arnav but by standing next to him, she will guide him to his happiness, to his Khushi.
Khushi-Arnav
This reminded me of the marriage day when Arnav had taken the "Shagun thaal' from Khushi on Buaji's prompting. That day he had taken her responsibility, promising in an underhand way that he will take care of her, he will not let harm come to her, he will protect her. Today, he stopped the plate from falling down, in a way ensuring that when disaster strikes he will be the one who will save her, who will protect her, who will hold her hand and ensure that the bad does not touch her, who will be her support and her "Humsafar". That day, too, he had broken her heart, today too he broke her heart.
PS:
What's with the snoring? Wouldn't it have been better to show that Payal recognizes the signs that Khushi has not slept the whole night..This would have at least emphasized the sister-sister bond which you are again ignoring.
Edited:-
Pixie and Savvy and I have got PMs asking me for the explanation of Arnav's statement to Khushi -"Pehele yeh bataao, poori raat pareshaan hokar kaisa lagta hai? Kaisa laga bina galti kiye guilty feel karna??", so I thought I will explain it in the main post. As it is it turned out a marathon, a little bit longer won't be a problem, is it??? 😃 The reason I didn't explain it yesterday is because on Thursday I have proved the connection of Arnav's unconscious attack with the Guest House (GH) incident and hence thought I can skip as you all can connect it. Yes, this dialogue of Arnav was for Khushi as till date since 8 months Arnav was not given a single chance by Khushi to clarify himself and I am glad that the loop which was untouched is now been touched upon.
It was the day when just to get rid of Khushi, Arnav had sent her on a job to the GH which was under renovation; Arnav was not at all was aware of the fact that the place was way too dangerous for her. Hence, when he got the phone call he was th first to jump in to save her and rescued her from the GH and brought her back to her home. Upon gaining consciousness, Khushi under the influence of Shyaam and her family decided to resign from the job and submit her resignation to the mighty Mr. Arnav Singh Raizada. She went there and submitted her resignation to ASR accusing him with - "jo insaan kisiki zindagi jaan bujke khatre mein dal sakta hain, uss insaan ke saath hum koi rishta nehin rakhna chahte" and also with - "aap haarte bahut bure hain Mr. Raizada, kyunki haarne ke baad bhi aap yeh nehin manenge ki galti aapki thi". That was the accusation Khushi stamped on ASR where as true to his character Arnav didn't even volunteer to clear his stance and that he actually was not guilty here as he never knew that the GH was dangerous for her. It was Anjali who only knew how mentally tortured and worried he was that night after he came home dropping Khushi at her home. After that moment he managed to clear his stance in front of Khushi at the Teej, at the Storeroom etc., but Khushi never even bothered to lend her ears to listen his side of the story. Yes, that night and after that many nights ASR was mentally tortured and accused himself for the hurt he had imposed on Khushi unknowingly. That is the reason he wanted to remind Khushi, how it feels to be tortured and worried whole night and feel guilty even without being guilty. But I see this loop is not yet closed as there are many layers in this. This loop will again be opened when Khushi will learn the exact reason of their wedding. That night also, both Arnav and Khushi had stayed awake up all night one by the pool and the other on the lounger in the room; Khushi stayed up all night without any guilt and Arnav up all night not able to disclose his reason for the wedding; they were not guilty in their own stance but yet they had been mentally tortured.
I hope all the doubts are cleared why Arnav said that and it will only close when the truth will be out in front of them and then only all the mental turmoil and tension they both are feeling will be over. There won't be any lies or accusation between them ever.
doods even i was little confused with that.. thnx for explaining 🤗
but doods i really have a doubt, how will kushi ever get to this man ASR?? I actually dnt blame her in this context, she needs someone help to decode this man na??Will she ever get to know how much love this man has for her and for other's?? will she evr know he never meant to do many things but that just happened??I just really started feeling she will never be able to decode this man without Anjali's interference.. tell me m wrong
Doods IMO I think yest was the first time KKG has started connecting Arnie, though subconsciously she realized that from the Gopi Bahutu act Arnie like to see her fiery n feisty... This will enhance her to learn n understand him...prolly lead her to heroin understanding her dhak dhak is LOVE
.nn once the MU is cleared Arnie himself will clear it up for her...Purvi
