IP REDUX - Dragonfly !!! *Edited*

Addled. Bemused. Confused. Flummoxed. Nebulous. Puzzled. Quizzical. The episode which contained the scenes of Anjali, Arnav and Khushi had left me obscurant. I have no other adjectives in my mind to add to describe this episode. Brilliant thinking on the parts of the creative team. An episode that compelled me to think in an ecumenical manner also at the same time forced me to rive my thought process. Remember yesterday I mentioned Shyaam's advice to Khushi??? That "Khushiji, iss golmol ke chakkar ko thodiye, aur apne khayalon ko alag ki jiye aur phir sochiye"??? Today, I had to do that to decipher the episode. I had to put myself in the shoes of ASR, Khushi and Anjali separately and watch the scenes twice to get the episode. No it is not as easy as it seems. A fantastic episode and I appreciate the plan of the creative team and the production house. Today I will analyze the episode with scenes wise because every scene was distinct today and had its own importance weaved for the future track.

Before I get into the episode I'll talk about Maami with the kids' scene. Firstly, I liked the plan of Maami where she managed to trick Bubli and left Payal and Aakash alone. But what I didn't like is the thought process behind it. Firstly, I loved that Payal extended her warmth towards Bubli and Aakash's firm judgment to Bubli to respect his wife. As I always say, Aakash is a very firm and principled character and today we have seen a glimpse of his principles. Secondly, I liked that Payal was feeding Bubli as any elder person would do to show affection towards the children. Thirdly, the part where Bubli categorized Aakash as "Admirable" didn't go well down my throat. A 9 yr old calling someone as "Admirable" made me think this is going to a "Platonic" way. I may be wrong but that I felt. Fourthly, Aakash's "Cute" to Payal. I mean Helooo??? You both should have some respect for the younger lot too; in front of a 9 yr old??? The same way when Maami came, Payal had the audacity to initiate making a 4 lettered word??? Get a room people??? What was that??? I could have imagined Lavanya there but Payal??? And last but not the least, Maami disrespecting Payal in front of a small girl??? After watching that scene I hated Maami and her family. Where is the respect for each other and I had no idea why that scene was shown in sucha pathetic manner with even using BDs. Maami leaving the love birds alone was a good thinking BUT the script writer did a really pathetic job. I could have never ever imagined that scene.

Dragonfly. When I saw the episode just before analyzing, the one word that came to my mind is "Dragonfly".You know why??? I'll tell you. This is the only insect who is an inhabitant of two realms - Water and Air, but stay close to water. Yes, they start their life with water and then move to the air with maturity but they tend to keep their base with water. People whose characteristics are like dragonfly or represents it as totem generally have very emotional and passionate early years but as they grow older they achieve balance with mental clarity and control. They gain an expression of emotional and mental together. The most important fact of a dragonfly is they can fly backwards when the need arises. Does it ring a bell now??? I knew it will. The story of Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon has 3 righteous lead characters who are golden at heart and who have their own process of thinking and who have gone through an extremely emotional early years and time has changed their own matured expressions, they are equal yet they are distinct of each other. Yes, this is the story of Anjali, Khushi and Arnav. This was always the story of them and never of Shyaam. Shyaam is an external factor here; for a moment we will feel that Shyaam has "Devilish purpose" here but at the end it is these 3 who will have each other. Shyaam is one factor who has his own distinct relationship with each of them but he will never be with all the 3 of them in one frame. From the beginning of the series, it was Khushi first whose thought process was triggered by Shyaam till his cover was blown up. Then came Arnav. Right now, Arnav's thought process is triggered by Shyaam, yes it is, notice carefully. When this cover will be blown up, then it will be Anjali whose entire thought process will be triggered by Shyaam and when that cover will be blown up, then it will be these 3 dragonflies who will be together for they will be darting like light, twisting, turning, changing direction, even will walk backwards as the need arises. Yes, for they are associated with water and air; for water is a sign of purity. Air, sign of maturity; for the incidents they have experienced in their early lives have made them matured in their own way and their single handedly dealing with Shyaam will mature them further in their own way but they will always stay close to water as their hearts are always pure even though for a moment they will misunderstand each other due to the devil.

Let's start with the main analysis. As I promised will take you through the episode from Arnav and Anjali's POV since today's episode surely have started the confusion in Arnav's mind. Before I start I must say today I loved this determined Khushi to continue "Fake Pativrata Patni" act. Now can anyone blame her after she planned to stay hungry the whole day for Arnav 'coz she was guilty??? Doesn't she have any right to be irritated now with Arnav??? Hell yes, she has.

In the mind of Arnav Singh Raizada:-

Since the day the faceoff happened between Shyaam Manohar Jha and Arnav Singh Raizada, I have mentioned in this Redux that the "Triangle" has been formed and Arnav will have to fight 2 players; one is Shyaam and other is Khushi. Yes, the game had already started and Arnav started to tackle Shyaam in his own ways. Then I mentioned in the process Arnav will start seeing his own weapons back firing him and that is when his game plans will start to weaken. One of the major weak links will be his "Understanding" of the player named "Khushi Kumari Gupta". Today we see the same thing started to happen. Khushi, a simple, innocent girl who always thinks straight and honest, whose plans never take any crooked route, whose thought process never is shrewd is the most easy character to predict and figure out. But, the mighty Arnav Singh Raizada, who claims to be a "Shrewd" rather than "Intelligent", has failed tremendously to understand this outright simple and honest girl. I have always maintained that Arnav Singh Raizada who appears to be the strongest player in the triangle will turn out to be the weakest player in this game for his belief on which he based his gameplan is "NON-EXISTENT". Today was the first "Earthquake" he felt in his belief. As Shyaam says, it is always "Rani Sahiba" who comes in between him and Khushi, today also it is "Rani Sahiba" who came in between Shyaam and Khushi. Yes, today Arnav felt the conflicts of conscience for the first time and the triggering factor was none other than Anjali.

The moment Anjali mentioned - "Humhein khushi hain ke tumne apne liye ek aisa jeevan saathi chuna hain jiske liye tumhara sehat aur tumhara khayal rakhna sabse jyaada zaroori hain", Arnav couldn't match his eyes with Anjali's. How can he?? He knows the girl who he married loves his sister's husband; he also knows that his sister is fond of her from the very first day; he also has seen Khushi and Shyaam together twice; he also has seen Khushi taking care of his sister and family; he also has experienced that Khushi wanted to walk out of his life; he also has experienced that Khushi has taken care of him; he also experienced that Khushi is the girl who understood his silence and managed to convey the message he wanted to. All these factors are running at the back of his mind and Arnav needs to come to terms with all of them. Above all, he never imagined in his life that one day will come when Anjali will approve of his relationship with Khushi. WOW. What he thought and what actually is happening.

I loved the scene by the pool. First time when I watched it, my latest Arnav's analysis came to mind. I thought here he goes again - "Reverse Psychology" and I thought maybe he wanted to see her as a fighter and not worried for him or it is his way of expressing his love. NO. I was absolutely wrong. Why??? I'll tell you. Then comes Anjali's explanation to Arnav about how he lies when his near ones are in worry reminded me the scene when Arnav went MIA for 3 hours in the Mehndi ceremony. Anjali is judging Arnav from her POV as a sister and a mother but the mistake what she is doing is she is NOT putting herself in Arnav's shoes. That day also Anjali witnessed Arnav with Khushi and also had seen Arnav in the havan scene, how he behaved with her and today also she observed both of them and still is aloof from the real picture. Yes, that day, when Khushi was worried then Arnav made a remark - "waise aacha hi hua main gaya, pata toh chala mujhe itna miss kiya jaata hain". We need to understand the facts that the same person behaves with different emotions when the relations and the situations are different. These all reactions are based on emotions. What Arnav does with Anjali is different because there "sibling love" is involved but how he will react with Khushi will be absolutely opposite. There the "Authority" and "Pleasure" of worry and missing comes into picture. That shows your importance in the other person's eye and this is where Anjali was wrong. But Anjali's advice became blessing in disguise for Arnav and Khushi on the other hand.

When Khushi came with the tea, Arnav remembered Anjali's satisfaction on Khushi being the perfect choice to be his wife and how she is pleased, stirred up the first confusion in his mind. I loved loved loved how he gulped and folded the newspaper "Business Standard" and this is where came his "Presence of mind". Hell yes, it is where he became the "Shrewd" person and why won't he??? He shouldn't forget he has 2 players to play - Khushi and Shyaam. The one thing that he hated in his conversation with Anjali is the women for whose sake he married Khushi as she was destroying her life is the same women approved his relationship with her destroyer. Can anyone guess how hard it was for Arnav at that moment to stand beside Anjali??? I hope no one faces that. This is the reason he accused Khushi that she was "Acting" and yes, he wanted her to mean that and as he does best, he said it with "reverse psychology". He wanted her to believe that he did "checkmate" her and how he thinks she is "Shrewd". He knows Khushi's concern was real but the fact that Anjali is unaware of Khushi's gameplan is the "TRIGGER" here. He has to keep Khushi the way she is behaving as when time will come and Anjali will know the truth Arnav should be justifiable. Very tricky isn't it??? I loved Barun Sobti today. If not for him it would have been hard for me to decipher the game plan. He had no soliloquy and only FBs and his EXPRESSIONS were mind-blowing.

Now I'll explain the main part which helped me to understand Arnav's action by the pool. When Anjali took him to her room and started explaining about Arnav's behavior and why he does act certain way he acts. They started their conversation discussing how Arnav lied and took the blame on himself. The moment Anjali said '"isliye ki hum jante hain tum Khushiji ko iss tarah se'", Arnav stopped her midway as he was worried if Anjali knew the reason how he got married to her. Barun's expressions throughout that scene were fabulous. I just loved that scene and it took me straight to the wedding day when Anjali met with an accident.

It was that day, when Anjali came home after the accident, Arnav was completely devastated. The brother and sister shared their moment with each other; that day a very valuable advice was given by Anjali which encouraged Arnav to open up his feelings to Khushi. Anjali said ' "Hum jisse sabse jyaada pyaar karte hain use kabhi jaane nehin dena chahiye, kisi bhi halaath mein". Yeah that one statement by Anjali was golden advice for him and he decided to take the step towards "LOVE". Today, the same way when Anjali showed Arnav his mirror image with - "Isse pata chalta hain tumhein Khushiji ka kitna khayal hain aur kitna, yeh toh shayad tum bhi nehin jaante chote", Arnav's eyes couldn't even match his "SOUL"; because he realized how he thrashed Khushi's heart a-gain; how he accused her of acting in his own way; because deep inside his heart he knows that Khushi's concern and care for him was GENUINE. He knew that, hell yeah he does. That day Anjali helped him to take a step towards his Love and today it is Anjali again, who unknowingly helped him to look into his conscience and started to look into his understanding of Khushi in a NEW LIGHT. Yes, the "Confusion" and the "Conflicts of Conscience" have begun and amidst all these notice who the Anchor of his life is??? Yes, his "abiding faith in Anjali's advice" is the Anchor here. Brilliant CVs. Kudos to you.

I loved the Mirror scene by Hrishikesh Gandhi. Fabulous. 👍🏼 It perfectly portrayed how Anjali was helping to see through his inner feelings and how it doesn't match with his outward actions. Too good work. Even the one where Arnav turned back to the mirror and remembered the exact FBs of Khushi's concern and how he thrashed her concern and then when he lowered his vision indicating how he felt ashamed of his actions. Fantastic Direction to the T and Barun Sobti was again brilliant. This is where he will now walk backwards like a Dragonfly to connect the dots.

Anjali's POV:-

Get Ready for the "New"

"The talk" between Anjali and Arnav gave me a glimpse of the future. Yeah, I will keep it short as I know Tant will explain and already my post has become a marathon. But, in brief I'll explain. This scene I will judge from Anjali's POV. As per Anjali, she is judging Arnav from her understanding as a sister and a mother. Yes, she is under the conclusion that, like in their childhood Arnav took the blame on his shoulder, here also he took the blame on his shoulder so that Khushi doesn't feel worried. Anjali like a true sister wanted to make Arnav realize that sometimes he needs to express in love for over the years she has understood his actions and Khushi is still unaware of this characteristic of Arnav. Khushi is not aware that Arnav had turned the table around for her so that she feels secured. But, what Anjali is missing here is Arnav and Khushi's true relationship. Yes, today she is trying to bring them closer but then I see a loop opened. Like I said above, that when Shyaam's cover with Arnav will be blown then it will be Anjali who will work with Shyaam's thought process. Yes, she will and then it will be the same Anjali who will say - "Tumne apne liye sahi jeevan saathi nehin chuni".That's what triggered me when I saw the broken framed picture of Anjali and Arnav. Yes, it will happen one day as today Anjali is bringing them together then when the truth will be out she will break them.

I loved the camera angle here; it showed how Anjali is helping her chote to look forward and look ahead even in tough times and how she will guide him in future too and how she will sacrifice her happiness and push Arnav ahead towards Khushi when the time for payback will come.

When Anjali will learn the reality then she will bring Khushi back. That day, Arnav took the blame on himself and this time it will be Anjali who will take the blame on herself and a-gain she will bring Khushi back into Arnav's life. She will. She has to. For she is righteous and that day she will work backwards and realize everything from beginning to end and why Arnav married Khushi, what is her brother's love, why Khushi kept quiet, how Khushi was tortured, how Khushi had never hidden Shyaam's name to them as her fianc, she will recollect the entire Holi thing, everything. She will start a new chapter one day and will be willing to let go of the old, her past. She will realize the things that are behind her are not as important as what is out in front of her. She will get ready for the new for sure for "Salvation by grace is incompatible with Salvation by works".

Pixie and Savvy asked me and many have sent me PMs asking me for the explanation of Arnav's statement to Khushi -"Pehele yeh bataao, poori raat pareshaan hokar kaisa lagta hai? Kaisa laga bina galti kiye guilty feel karna??", so I thought I will explain it in the main post. As it is it turned out a marathon, a little bit longer won't be a problem, is it??? 😃 The reason I didn't explain it yesterday is because on Thursday I have proved the connection of Arnav's unconscious attack with the Guest House (GH) incident and hence thought I can skip as you all can connect it. Yes, this dialogue of Arnav was for Khushi as till date since 8 months Arnav was not given a single chance by Khushi to clarify himself and I am glad that the loop which was untouched is now been touched upon.

It was the day when just to get rid of Khushi, Arnav had sent her on a job to the GH which was under renovation; Arnav was not at all was aware of the fact that the place was way too dangerous for her. Hence, when he got the phone call he was th first to jump in to save her and rescued her from the GH and brought her back to her home. Upon gaining consciousness, Khushi under the influence of Shyaam and her family decided to resign from the job and submit her resignation to the mighty Mr. Arnav Singh Raizada. She went there and submitted her resignation to ASR accusing him with - "jo insaan kisiki zindagi jaan bujke khatre mein dal sakta hain, uss insaan ke saath hum koi rishta nehin rakhna chahte" and also with - "aap haarte bahut bure hain Mr. Raizada, kyunki haarne ke baad bhi aap yeh nehin manenge ki galti aapki thi". That was the accusation Khushi stamped on ASR where as true to his character Arnav didn't even volunteer to clear his stance and that he actually was not guilty here as he never knew that the GH was dangerous for her. It was Anjali who only knew how mentally tortured and worried he was that night after he came home dropping Khushi at her home. After that moment he managed to clear his stance in front of Khushi at the Teej, at the Storeroom etc., but Khushi never even bothered to lend her ears to listen his side of the story. Yes, that night and after that many nights ASR was mentally tortured and accused himself for the hurt he had imposed on Khushi unknowingly. That is the reason he wanted to remind Khushi, how it feels to be tortured and worried whole night and feel guilty even without being guilty. But I see this loop is not yet closed as there are many layers in this. This loop will again be opened when Khushi will learn the exact reason of their wedding. That night also, both Arnav and Khushi had stayed awake up all night one by the pool and the other on the lounger in the room; Khushi stayed up all night without any guilt and Arnav up all night not able to disclose his reason for the wedding; they were not guilty in their own stance but yet they had been mentally tortured.

I hope all the doubts are cleared why Arnav said that and it will only close when the truth will be out in front of them and then only all the mental turmoil and tension they both are feeling will be over. There won't be any lies or accusation between them ever.
