Agree with you on the need to stop nitpicking for the sake of nitpicking.

But completely disagree about Point 5. I play cricket for the under 16 girl's team (which btw only my mom and few other moms watch) and I can tell you how much of constant criticism we face on footwork, stance, fitness, catching, etc. Most of these comments come from people who can't even hold a cricket bat possibly. Does that make their comment any less valid? I don't think so. If you are putting yourself out there, better be prepared to be judged. You write a book, people WILL have an opinion about your writing. These people may never write a book or have the ability to write a book. But remember, you are putting your work out there for the same people -- they have every right to judge your work. Unlike working in an office, where perhaps you have greater no. of opportunities to correct your work, here once you put it out there, you can't take it back.

Also, I don't think anyone is saying ASR is a bad influence. Gosh! But the point about Television that you make is incorrect. There is a reason why some TV shows put a disclaimer. Lots of viewers are young people and there are pretty strong ways in which images that we see in popular culture influence our minds. As a reasonably stupid 16-year-old I can say for sure that I am pretty influenced by some of the things I watch on TV. And there is no reason for me not to think that others aren't ike me. TV sometimes romanticizes things that are not okay and people might have made that kind of point.

I know that nobody likes whining, but whining about others who whine is you know kinda ironic. Not that there is anything wrong with it. Just that, how is your complaint different from the original person who is dissatisfied? And one can't make sweeping conclusions based on what I post on the Internet about my personality. I am generally speaking an optimist, that doesn't mean I won't complain. I might never complain, but I could be very glass-half-empty in real life. Why must we all agree at all the times? What is up with that?

and im also sure if we sat down, we would come to some mutual agreement.😊

The way I got introduced to this forum was b/c sometimes (actually most of the times) I'm on the run & want to read the reviews to see if it's worth watching the episode. Initially, it was alright. But then it started to get too much.

I don't know much about media studies. But I do agree with you that we must never take things handed out on our plate. Always criticize! When I made this post, it was for people who spread unncessary negativity. By that, I mean saying things like "CVs buckled up before you lose another loyal fan!" "I'm going to QUIT watching this bullshit" "That was absolutely disgusting." To me, criticisms of this sort are not acceptable.

When I say I appreciate criticism, I mean someone telling WHERE I'm going wrong & maybe (if possible), tell my how to fix it. When I make mistakes in my lab, my prof points out my mistakes too. I take every criticism VERY well (I guess that's evident since I don't think you are a "basher" for disagreeing with me).

There are individuals like Shy, Crooner, Sushpective who provide ABSOLUTELY wonderful criticisms. There are more but these 3 are famous & well-known. Even if they didn't like the episode or didn't agree, the way they word it is what makes a difference at the end of the day.

If people reallly do disagree, they must explain themselves with logic. There must be some sort of constructive feedback. Being an eternal optimist, I think there's ALWAYS a way to word things positively (don't know if it's true since I don't know EVERYTHING that goes on in the world).

Glad you can disagree with me YET talk to me like a human being and not like we're eternal enemies out to cut each other's throats.

Hey, Nice post... you have made some valid points, but i agree with some in parts and some i dont.
Firstly, this is aforum... you are gonna find a billion people with mixed opinions. I myself like some episodes in parts, and some i am like what the f**k was that... the point is that, opinions are just that...
Next, I neccesarily dont find "bashing" posst. If i were to analyse it, i'd say, for every "bashing" post, there is one that'll say " OMG! i loved todays episode" or " Arnav-Khushi were too good!"... In that way, I think this forum is balanced... yes, on some days the scale tips, but in general.. i think despite our age differences, we get along better than most 'ACTIVE" forums.

That said, I dislike the word bashing. Its a wrong word to use in a public forum... Short of being rude and maligining the actors, bashing doesnt apply in a public forum... yes, some posts are negative saying " i didnt like this" "OMG, why are they dragging" but thats perspective. you cant change it! the best thing to do, obviously, is to find posts that fit your vibe and be active there. Bashing, drooling, those words are a big NO-NO for me... I personally, will go gaga over a rabba vey, but i'll flip back and be like W*F, that didnt make sense... that doesnt make me a drooler or a basher...Lets face it, we are all here because we love this show. Fortunately, we are also a VERY active forum, with a WIDE range of people. Lets celebrate that.

With point #3: I agree. barring the whole, sleeping outside fiasco, I dont think I personally have took a social stance to anything shown in IPK. I think, we need people SHOULD address social issues.. again, we are a forum and different strokes for different people. BUT to say, what arnav does, or Khushi deals with is some of bad Vs good influence... I have say : cut it! This show is in NO WAY realistic. So, we have to take most things with a pinch of salt. IF we cant handle it, then skip it!
Many shows ( not only indian) show many things worse.. I personally think, IPK is better compared to most in that aspect... But I cannot dissect every move of Arnav call it immoral and or keep quiet in the extreme cases ( like kicking her out!)

I have immense respect for those who in Indian TV shows. Not only is it hard work but to keep up with the pace is hard. They are there as much time as the actors, working with them for them so we can have fun! Watch this video if you can! tells me, how much effort goes into one scene

i just want to say, 4lions and SP give us a show; some things I agree with, some i dont.. but in general want to just watch it play out! the day i loose interest, i'll start watching another show. but if i dont agree with something, that shouldnt make me a basher...

Thank you for your post.

I respect your point of view. And for the reference, DO NOT think you are a "basher" to my post.

Now, wrt criticism, I just replied in another post that I take criticsm very well (like I respected your opinion and your points, which I find all valid). That's not what's making me mad. What pushed me over the edge were comments such as: "CVs buckled up before you lose another loyal fan!" "I'm going to QUIT watching this bullshit" "That was absolutely disgusting." To me, criticisms of this sort are not acceptable. That's all. We can differ with our views - that's PERFECTLY acceptable!

I know TV has A LOT of influence. But at the end of the day, it's in our hands right? Whether I watch something or not is totally my choice. Key point here being TV didn't promise us everything happy. We can't blame them for that.

& no, I'm not whining. Just wanted to say that. I waited for a long time (believe me, I did). I respect different opinions, I really do! People can dislike the episode. It's just the way things are worded that makes a difference. Well, according to me anyway!

Lastly, I don't think you are a reasonably stupid 16-year old if you can make a post like this :)

First of all,

THANK YOU for your honest reply! It's perfectly acceptable by me for you to agree & disagree with me at the same time.

I understand when you say I'm bound to come across MANY people with MANY different p.o.v.s. My issue here is not the fact that people dislike/disagree with the show. As I said in my other replies, my issue is HOW people say it. In your reply, you told me you disagree with me and you told me WHY very constructively. You didn't just say something like "You basher of bashers!" & then walked off. That's what I mean. People can love/hate/do whatever they like with the episode, just don't put down human beings (that includes CVs & crew).

To be quite honest with you, the word "bashing" was introduced to me in this very forum. The fact that I used it in the original post is b/c that is the kind of language people seem to understand around here!

& I don't even want to change anybody's opinion. I'm just against the negativity.

Agreed with your point about #3: Indian shows have seen beating up of bahus, kicking out of bahus for no reason & the bahus don't even speak up. At the end of the day, everything is a drama & for entertainment!

I will go watch that video right now *runs off to watch it*

*back* Yes, NO doubt these things take SUCH hard work. I totallly appreciate them for their hard word!

& I'm not saying that those who disagree are bashers. You disagreed with me but I don't call you a basher. "Bashers" are those who just want to ridicule hard work, show, etc. If you give me a reason, I don't think you are a basher, simple as that.

Anywho, thank youuu for your comment!

the only thing i can say to that, is that its a public forum and no matter what if people are getting frustrated they will use the forum to vent their anger and frustration here. they will post comments like 'its disgusting'' or 'cv's buckle up before you lose a fan.'' to me,, a few episodes i watched i felt like slapping the arrogance out of asr, and im sure many felt the same but just came and declared it on the forum. again though,, its a public forum so of course they will. in this situation just look at as a tv show,,, dont let it bother you. how much does it really matter after all? its not about going wrong,, its just different opinions and you will always get them as long as people have freedom of speech.
trust...i would never cut anyones throat over ipkknd🤣

Definitely come back to this whenever dosage of bashing overflows your limit :P

In fact, I think after every episode, I should make an anti-bashing post where I'll defend the bloopers, I'll defend the bad editing, I'll defend the mistakes, I'll cover up for ASR's actions & so on & so forth :p

You really should dear 😃.. that would be wonderful 😳.. it would be blessing for us positive lots who is on the verge of pulling out hairs on reading certain posts 😆
