The Judgment of Khushi ...

It is for the heart of the woman to decide where she will be. Once it does, there is no turning back, no giving up – there may be pain, there may even be some regret, but she's there to stay.

Both Arnav and Shyam have hurt Khushi. Yet the reactions she has for them as polar opposites. Her heart has chosen between them, long, long before she even realized. Arnav hurt Khushi before Shyam even entered her life. Yet, Khushi has never been able to nurture anything but deep affection that was stated in only the most subtle ways - that everyone missed, except them. Even Arnav is aware that there has been something between Khushi and him that is impossible for them, let alone someone else, to comprehend.

Shyam became Khushi's friend before his bluff was called off, yet for him she could never go beyond a rapport that she would normally have with a neighbor.

Arnav has gone way beyond in hurting her and crashing her dreams than anyone else. Yet, the response she metes out to him is altogether on a different plane than the one she gives to Shyam.

In the episode on 3rd Arpril 2012, Khushi starts off Heer with the following statement:

When you're in love, your eyes converse, you don't need words.
>> She has stated that what is there between Arnav and her is purely between them. No one can see it, no can understand it. These words needn't be spoken. Their bond is unfathomable by others around them. They see, they understand.

We know this, you know this; the ones who question (or doubt) are those who haven't a clue about what love is.
>> An amazing slap on the face to doubters like Shyam. They see what they want to see and turn a blind eye to the truth. Khushi tells him point blank – you don't have a clue about what love is.
She'd told him that she and Arnav were one. If Shyam chose to believe the reason she gave for marrying Arnav, there is no reason why he should have ignored her very first statement – she and Arnav are one. But it isn't Shyam's fault – he is clueless about what love is.

And how does Khushi mete out justice to the man whom she did love?

If Khushi is one with Arnav, then though she maintains her individuality, she cannot be viewed apart from him. Though they look like two different people with different personalities and traits – their selves are fused together; their identity is with each other. Apart from each other their lives are meaningless.
