Part 10

Arnav walked out of the room...Khushi followed him out into the hallway...

Khushi: aap Shyamji ke paas...

Arnav: nahi jaa raha hu...

11:45 pm

Khushi dialled the number for the 10^th time...it is ringing and ringing and ringing but Arnav did not pick up the phone. She should have known better - Arnav was so angry when he was leaving home she should have stopped him.

Khushi: kya kare...sab ko batade ki yeh abhi thak ghar nahi aaye...

11^th call of the night and again Arnav's phone rang till it went to the answering machine...

Khushi: dekhiye yeh humari dusvi (10th) message hai aapke liye...ab hum iss machine se baat nahi karenge...ppone uttayi ye...

Khushi hung up the phone and decided to inform someone in the family...she went to Akash and Payal's room and knocked on the door...

Payal: Khushi? tum iss waqt? Kya hua sab thik hai?

Khushi: jiji woh Arnavji...

Akash: kya hua Khushiji?

Khushi: jijaji woh Arnavji kuch der pehle baahar gayethe ab thak lautke nahi aaye...

Akash: bhai ab thak ghar nahi aaye?

Khushi shook her head in response...

Akash: Khushiji aap bhai ko jaanti hai na...aap fikar math kariye woh aathe hi honge...aapne phone kiya bhai ko?

Khushi nodded again to say yes...

12:00 am

Khushi was getting so restless by now she could not sit or stand in one place for more than few seconds. Payal and Akash decided to wait for Arnav with Khushi in the living area. All three kept looking at the doorway every few minutes but Arnav did not show up...

Nani who came out for a glass of water noticed Akash, Payal and Khushi in the living area and came to them to see what was happening...

Nani: aap theeno iss waqt yeha kya kar rahe ho?

Akash: woh nani...bhai abhi thak ghar nahi aaye...tho...

Nani: ka? Chote abhi thak ghar nahi aaye? Lekin Khushi betiya woh tho bahut der pehle baahar...

Khushi: haan naniji...bahut der hogayi unhe jaake...

12:30 am

Now joined in the living room by Manorama mami and mama...everyone was worried. They decided not to tell Anjali as it is not good for her to worry in this condition...

Mami: yeh batau pati saadi...Arnav bitwa tumhe kuch nahi kehke gaya? Where he iz going?

Khushi: nahi mamiji...unhone hume kuch nahi bataya...

Mami: kahi aisa tho nahi ki tumne usse phirse jagda kiya aur bechara Arnav bitwa...

Nani: Manorama bas bhi kariye ab...

Akash: Mujhe ab bahut dar lag raha hai...

Khushi: na...nahi jijaji...shaayad woh kahi phas gaye honge...

Mami: yeh Arnav bitwa kabhi aisa nahi kiya...tho aaj? I am warried...

Khushi: na...nahi aap aisa kyun keh rahe hai...

Akash: mein car mein jaake...dekhtha hu bhai ke liye...

Khushi: humbhi aapke saath chalenge...

Akash tried to persuade Khushi to stay at home and wait for Arnav but Khushi did not want to stay there...she wanted to get out look for him...do something, anything ...So, Akash, Khushi and Mama left to look for Arnav.

1:00 am

They first went to Arnav's office but found it deserted. Now they have been wandering on the streets near his office and house for the past fifteen minutes...

Khushi: subha ki ek baj gayi aur inka abhi thak patha nahi...

Akash: papa shayad hume police mein report?

Khushi: police??

Khushi's heart was now on super-fast mode; her hands and feet were cold and shaking. Khushi started fidgeting her fingers...she was looking out of the car window but nothing was registering in her mind, all she could think of was that she wants to see Arnav just once...safe...if he is angry he can shout at her or anyone else all he wants...if he is alright...nothing else matters...

Akash and Mama were thinking more seriously about going to police station when Akash's phone rang and Payal informed about Arnav's return...

1:10 am

As soon as they reached home Khushi ran in to find the living area empty. So she again ran up to her room but came to a halt at the door...inside Arnav was explaining to nani, mami and a silent Payal that he was alright and he just went for a drive...

Mami: par itni raath ko drive pe gayethe? Aur tum ko drive pe jaanahi tha tho ek baar ghar mein kaheke jaate ya phone karde the...

Arnav: oh c'mon mami...chota bacha nahi hu mein...I am fine...ghar wapas aa...

Arnav noticed Khushi standing in the doorway...

Nani: Chote aap Khushi betiya ko bhi bataye bina kaise jaasakthe hai? aapko patha bhi hai woh aap ke liye kitna pareshan thi...

Arnav looked at Khushi...she did not just look worried...there was fear in her eyes, as if afraid of losing something very important. Her forehead was creased with worry lines, her eyes were not looking at anything in particular as she tried unsuccessfully to keep the tears at bay...

Nani: accha ab Chote wapas aagaye hai na...ab chaliye sab log apna apna kamre mein...chaliye...

Once everyone left, Khushi turned around to lock the door but found it difficult to do with her fiercely shaking hands. Arnav who was still watching Khushi saw her struggle and came forward to help. As Khushi still tried to lock the door, Arnav gently put his hand on Khushi's to stop her. Khushi froze at Arnav's touch but realising what he intended...Khushi took her hands off the door and let Arnav lock it...

Arnav: Khushi mein...

Khushi: aap abhi humse kuch baath nahi kare tho hi accha hoga...

Aranv: I am sorry Khushi...mujhe iss tarah se jaana...par tum itna gussa kyun ho rahi ho? Mein tho bas...

Khushi: aap tho bas kya? Subha ke ek baji hai aur aap ab ghar laut rahe hai...aur kya mathlab gussa kyun ho rahi hu? gussa sirf aap hi ho sakthe hai?

As she said it Khushi pointed her finger at Arnav but it comically shook as both looked at it. A small glint of smile appeared on Arnav's face. Khushi was about to put her hand down when Arnav caught it and held it in both his hands...Khushi looked at her hand wrapped by his hands...even in his tight grip it still shook.

Khushi: agar hum iss tarah se chodke jaathe tho? Tho aap kya karthe?

The glint of smile on his face vanished. Arnav looked up at Khushi...pain returned on his face. Arnav tried to fight back his tears as his eyes gleamed with them...

Arnav: chodke hi tho jaane wali ho.

Precap: Arnav: math jao Khushi...iss ghar ko...mujhe chodke...please...

Oh and just wanted to say - this is only part of the update...when I finished writing Part 10 it turned out to be very long so decided to break it into two parts...so this is Part 10a I will update 10b soon...Hope you liked it :D
