From what I understand it has been like this for a long time. Arshad has always been the first since the Diwali episode with LM chipping in now and then. I dont think we will miss LM, though I agree 100% his facebook page was the landing page for most of the fans. It has such great banter between fans and I totally loved reading them.
They need to have an official "go to" page for this show. Its high time for them to capitalize on the popularity of the show and the fact that it has such international reach. Producers are you listening?!!

savvy - well said!!

I am so surprised that Indian telly world does zip in terms of a coordinated marketing campaign via social media, endorsements, and tv ads to promote their shows.

for a long running soap like IPK, three things are paramount
1. understanding viewer trends to modify the future story
2. keeping the current fan base - stickyness factor
3. attracting the peripheral fans who tune in occasionally, ie. increase the size of the pie.

PH - you need to figure out ways to engage with your viewers. be a trendsetter.

About interacting with viewers, I dont think we need to worry about that cuz the official IPPKND fan page is by the team & I believe they do come on the page & read all the feedback. The admin does interact with the fans at times. Also, I heard they visit IF sometimes! So i dont think that should be an issue even if LM left!

@SJ: I don't think LM really read all the feedbacks given in his FB wall. I don't think any of the directors would have time to read all that.

he did, and he did mention that occasionally he would visit india forums too. irrespective of that, viewers feel good about connecting to the creative team behind their favorite shows. how hard is if for a ph to manage online media?

Well whomever directed the Holi scenes did a fantastic job so I'm not missing Lalit. Good Luck to him and I hope the current director continues to give us scenes with the same intensity and emotions like we've seen in the past week.😊

LM used to read the comments, because occasionally you would see him replying if you maze through them.
SJ, we have reality stars (sic!) out here having their own web sites and though I can see why Sanya and Barun are not having one, IPPKND should have its own. Does Gul have one because I could not find her on FB?
Coming back to directing - from @Doods post, I gather that Nissar is the guy who has this incredible art of crafting episodes together including the famous poolside kiss by Arnav, as long as he is there.. all is well.

If Mr. Lalit Mohan has previous commitments elsewhere and cant take up the show. Well All the best to him. The PH would have made other arrangements and wont allow the show to slip at this point when all the attention of the fans all over the world and media attention is on it.
The Show Must Go ON

I guess he did follow the feedbacks occasionaly. But I don't think he followed all the comments. I guess if the PH wants to manage online media, they would have to appoint someone specific for that... someone who would look into all the comments and report to them...but I don't think they would be willing to take that trouble.

tiya - LOL, yes, this might be the zabardast twist!!!

I just want this ph to realize they can do so much more when they interact with viewers.

of course LM's page had become gossip central with people going on long chat sessions with each other and writing total nonsense that had nothing to do with the show. nevertheless, a bit of moderating the forum would have given it a nice professional look.

now its all dead and gone.

ofcourse. by interacting with the viewers, they get a first hand sample of the feedback to their show/episode... I think, its very important to keep touch base with the viewers in any form...so that they arent isloated in their world of making the show...

i didnt know, LM's FB page was so popular and all that jazz.. so yah, its a pity, it'll be gone. but who knows, maybe in 6 months time, when his other shows are set, he'll be back and LM's FB page will revive again..

but doesnt 4lions have a FB page, which is moderated??
