Awesome posts guys!
After a week's worth of incredibly episodes I can't say that I was so much let down by Friday's content, as I was disheartened by the "cliffhanger". I would have hoped for more clarification as to whether or not Khushi or Arnav remember what they did.
If Khushi winds up remembering her conversation with Shyam, then it only stands to reason that she must also remember her words to Arnav. I personally don't feel as though the CV's will have them "remember" their words. They aren't going to go down the road to confession just yet.
I just have a few thoughts on Friday's episode because as Doodleberry mentioned, it was a bit of a mixed bag in terms of content. I absolutely loved it when Arnav didn't want to let Khushi go. I agree with Doodleberry, in that he wanted to keep her there for HIMSELF. I really saw the wounded child in him - one who is afraid of losing yet another loved one. He wanted her in front of him at all times. It makes your heart hurt when you see someone so scared to love because of this enormous fear of loss.
Similarly, I loved the smile on Khushi's face when Arnav pulled her back down. Just like Arnav - she is afraid to love because she is afraid of rejection. One of the biggest fears of any adopted child is not being wanted. Not being good enough, and for that reason I feel that Khushi compensates by going above and beyond to make sure the lives of her family are without worry. I felt that smile reflected her acceptance that FINALLY there was someone who wanted her to stick around. Someone who wouldn't let her go. It was the sweetest thing.
I re-watched a bit of Thursday's episode and it just goes to show how scared Khushi is of Arnav rejecting her again. When Arnav was wiping away the dirt, and she had a flashback of the last time she did that - she recoiled in fear. Fear that the moment wouldn't last. Fear that she shouldn't let her heart accept the need for his touch because of the pain he always causes her afterwards with his rejection. She did the same thing when she was about to get up. They shared a special moment and she wanted to run away in fear. Fear of the moment not lasting. I loved how the writers have managed to keep certain aspects of the characters in tact while under the influence of bhang. Because as was mentioned before, it is when you are intoxicated that your subconscious thoughts become your conscious thoughts.
Also, I thoroughly enjoyed the differences again depicted between Shyam and Arnav. Whereas Khushi recoils from Shyam's touch, she finds solace and comfort in Arnav's. She welcomes his touch. She needs it to feel safe. I felt her rambling when talking to Shyam was truly reflective of the state of emotions she feels right now. She loves Arnav but is confused as to why he is treating her this way. It is similar to when he propositioned her for marriage. Even then she said, "humne to socha tha..." that he was going to tell her that he cared about her. To me, her tears exhibited the torrent of emotions churning within her. She cried because she just doesn't understand why Arnav married her in such a way and has been treating her thus, when all she wants to do is love him.
Obviously Shyam is going to use this new nugget of information to his advantage, but who knows who he is going to target first. I think it all depends on whether or not Arnav and Khushi remember their actions. I don't believe they will, because if Khushi did then she would have no other choice but to tell Arnav that she told Shyam the conditions of their marriage. All in all, it was a bit of a see-saw type of episode. There were highs, and then there were confusing lows. I just hope that one day Khushi and Arnav remember (at least bits) of their confession, if not for the sweetness of the scenes.
Anyways, great analysis guys. Doodleberry, I will miss your daily analysis next week! Looking forward to the weekly one!
