Arnav-Akash who can learn what from the other?

Hi all,

This discussion was started in another thread ...and was having the unintentional consequence of almost SPAMing the thread...so instead of continuing to do that I decided to open a separate one...

We all know Arnav is very different from Akash or vice versa...

Arnav is decisive, bold, arrogant, rude, and curt...

Akash is polite, soft spoken, not so bold...and so on...

Many views have been expressed that Arnave needs to learn politeness from Akash...my question is ...is there something Akash needs to learn from Arnav?

Personally I find Akash and Payal cute...but not intriguing enough to hold my interest in their love story for a long time...It seems like a spark is missing somewhere...

Do we like Arnav because he has this assertive, decisive, dominating, leader of the pack characteristics...typically associated with alpha males? Or do we like his character despite some of his characteristics taking him to the side of rude ruthless and hurtful...? Why are we so interested in him ?(lets try to stay away from Barun Sobti...hot look discussion...I know I know...it is hard...but I think Arnav/ ASR character sketch has a lot to do with why we like him or are interested in him than Sobti's looks alone...To be fair the actor playing Akash is quite good-looking himself...but more importantly...Barun's looks and hotness will make it difficult to separate why we like Arnav's charcater ...which is what I am trying to get to here...so my apologies for imposing this constraint)😊

My own view is that ...Arnav's character is very interesting to me for all the things I described above...the good and the bad...Akash's character ...is predictable and border line boring for me most times...and yes...the bad boy streak in Arnav makes him even more interesting...and his scenes with Khushi hotter...I think there is some correlation between what we find hot and the so called "alpha" male charcateristics...

I feel as if Akash does not rele get enough screen time so we don't know too much bout his character expect all of the things u mentioned Sush. It would be much better if Akash got some screen time just like Payal does so we could get to know him better you know?

Akash should prob learn to have more of a backbone from Arnav n stick up to his mommy.

True Mya...He really does not stick up against any one...including his dominating momma...who even quetions him about a phone conversation he is having...

On the other hand he is quite sensitive to people's feelings and as opposite to rude as can be...Arnav can definitely take some lessons from him in termsof what words not to use in his language...😆😆😆

I think woh din bhi ayenge jab CV ke paas aur khinchne ke liye kuch nahi hoga to do bhaiyo ki bich fight suru..

The only think i will say aakash need to learn is...how to impose his feelings and decisions of his life to his mom...hello hi bye bye..like arnav does...no one can question him. Otherwise aakash is perfect too

Its scientifically proven that Girls like bad boys,Other name for alpha males... Proven by the fact that there are more girls pining for Damon salvatore and Eric Northman than there are for Stefan & Bill.

It won't really matter if Akash is given more screen time cos he is so 2 dimensional.There is no charisma to his character.Its seriously borders to boring. He is also a mama's boy which is even worse.

I personally feel interested in him because of his character, he makes me feel curious as to who he really is inside, he doesn't give his feelings away, why is it most of the time there's a cold blank look on his face, why doesn't he show he's feelings, when there's a guy like this around every girl feels maybe i can make him open up emotionally. and then to top all of it off, hes got a bad boy attitude, good looks, and he's the guy that wont give any girl the time of the day. this just puts him hot of the charts!

Interesting topic Sush.

I read the previous post you've mentioned and what people like about Akash is that he is very easy going, polite and sensitive towards others. He is like his father.

For the time being Akash is still in the first stage of courting Payal.

The real problems will begin when Akash's mother comes into the picture. That's when Akash will need to be assertive, firm and strong. His mother will fight tooth and nail to prevent Payal from becoming a part of his life. So far we've seen that he just avoids arguing with his mother and either leaves the scene or just shakes his head and keeps mum.

Arnav on the other hand does not take things lying down - even from his own sister. If he does not agree with something, he says so and does not let others dominate him at all. Even his Nani sometimes cannot get her way with him.

The things is that Akash will want to get married to Payal, which even if he succeeds in doing against his Mom's wishes, will prove extremely problematic for Payal. Look at how Mamiji taunts and bullies over Khushi, despite Khushi just being an employee at RM. How is she going to behave with Payal if she becomes her daughter - in-law? This is when Akash will have to come out of his shy and quiet personality to stand up to his Mom - which is everyday! He definitely needs to learn how to be firm and defend his stand - Arnav can teach him a thing or two in this matter.

As far as Arnav learning from Akash...all these years he's had plenty of time to do that and he never did! Akash is too docile and timid to say anything to Arnav. In fact he looks more like his subordinate than his younger brother.

The only person who can teach Arnav a thing or two is Khushi though her unorthodox ways!

Yes your rite Sush! I just loved how he said no to tea the moment he realized that he was going to be alone with Payalji in the house. If it was Shyam he wuld hav been like SURE. I don't think Arnav would have said anything either though I doubt any1 in their rite mind wuld ever invite Arnav to drink tea with them. esp not with their parents. besides KKG off course since when they get married, considering it will happen willingly, KKG will invite ASR to come and have tea with her parents HAHA.😆

Yes his daddy can also learn from Arnav n get a back bone!

Another Great post Sushi..

I think both have their strengths and weaknesses.

I think what makes ASR desirable is naturally he is portrayed the hero..the focus is more on him..but he comes across as angsty, angry ,arrogant and at times pig headed prick who is too good for his own good..there were times I hated him..but there were times I loved him...Plus I think the reason for him being more popular is the fact he brought out the nuturing streak in women for his hurting inner self..and it is a paradox because it may also be the fact that i for example would like my man to lead ..not to follow ..as it all boils down to personal preference..I think in terms of learning ..Arnav could learn to be more emphatic ..He is getting there but only where Khushi is concerned and chews off La head because he can't tolerate fools..I think his character has shown a softening too from the ruthless businessman he was..and you see it was his ruthlessness in a way that has kept the business afloat..if it had been Akash ..the business would not be where it is today I think..

..plus Some men are followers and Akash is one..again he needs to be a bit more assertive ..but they both have their reasons to what they are..and even now with Arnav on the brink of love ..I would still like to see him retain his attitude and his brusqueness...because those are the traits that make them who they are.

Asr a perfect match for feisty and outspoken Khushi ..I mean he would be bored to tears with Payal..and Akash a perfect foil to Payal...who is docile enough to make him feel top of the world..

I think I went a little beyond of what you asked ..but there you are..but as a cliche..Women generally find the macho guys with attitude more attractive ..me included..I find ASR totally irresistible..
