my observation skills are selective just like my memory😛
i know a few friends, who remember what saree they wore at which occasion.
for the life of me, i can never remember such things, which are actually a part of my own life😛.
i guess, i pay attention only on certain things that really interest me.

SWAN...Saraswathi matha's... Vehicle...represents truth(Saraswathi matha... Bijakshara...(IAM...truth and knowledge) ... And only a swan has the ability... To separate milk from water... To drink it... meaning Astha... Who gives more importance to truth...and also is conscious of herself as right... and proves it too...from wrong..

PEACOCK...WITH PLUME IS MALE... macho..and... Ego too...AHAMKARA...(I AM...action and practical experience )
As you said... Murugan's vehicle ...who is senapati of the gods and subdues poisonous snakes too...
Is lord krishna's adornment... His MAYA...with which he captivates everyone Alike... Good and bad...and gives the same back as result karma...as Suchi said...Mohini.

Astha and Shlok both have... Ego (IAM...I AM.).. But uses it for good purposes too...unless when comes to self...pride. ... But not proud...

THE AGNIHOTRI'S BUSINESS IS... EDUCATION...SARASWATHI... BOTH TRUTH... KNOWLEDGE... is taught to everyone...Whereas... to run such big business correctly and profitably...EGO... As In AHAMKARA.. Meaning... Conscious Action and ... is needed... and SHLOK... has the perfect... Balance of EGO AND ACTION... With KNOWLEDGE AMD EXPERIENCE TOO...AND... Uses MAYA TOO...according to the persons concerned...good or bad... for his purposes...or for GOOD RESULTS...benefitting others.

Shlok also has the ability to fight a WAR in anyway...dirty or clean... if necessary... Can Subdue and kill poisonous snakes like... NA...if needed.

Shlok has the ability to subdue a poisonous and Egoistic person...like NA...or a GOOD person like ASTHA...both with his love and devotion...and gives back the same as they do... Three times more... Like lord Krishna...does.

So apt use of... SWAN...AND...PEACOCK...for ASTHA and SHLOK... completely.

nice explanation vinni. agree with you. all those four aspects - ego, consciousness, mind and intellect - should be in check. when saraswathi mounts a peacock, it means that we have to keep ego and consciousness in check. when she mounts a swan, it means that we have to use wisdom to not let mind and intellect go astray.

the interesting thing i read about murugan / subramanya swamy's peacock is that it doesn't kill the snake, though it has the ability to do it. it just keeps it in check. there was a scene during jungle honeymoon in that hut where ashlok spend a night. we have an eagle figurine behind shlok when the snake comes in. he shuts aastha's mouth until the snake passes but doesn't kill it with a stick. murugan's peacock is said to be a descendant of the holy eagle garuda. garuda gifted this peacock to murugan as a vehicle. both eagles and peacocks can kill snakes.

agree about lord krishna's peacock feather. it teaches us equanimity - to take everything good or bad in our stride and to not treat anyone with hatred.

Great post Rekha.

I enjoy both Your & Vani's lovely explanations.

You have got a selective memory (so you said) but good one.

Hi Rekha,
I can still remember some of your and Jalpari's analysis('' Dangerous Review By You' and Jalpari's - daily review )-. they were really very interesting. At that time I was not a member of the forum, truely speaking. you people inspired me to be a member of the forum. I dod not know whether i have done right thing or not - now I have become more addicted to EBP & FORUM and this is affecting my work to a great extent.
I am now getting scarred of my appraisal preparation.Once my appraisal is over, I might spend more happy time with this forum.
