Shlok was lying on his bed on that night..He was thinking about Aastha..
"She is not a bad person after all.. I have been a bit rude to her..I will say sorry to her tomorrow.."
Then slowly he fell asleep.

Meanwhile Aastha was lying with the kids.. She was thinking about Shlok.
"He is really a good Father..He takes care of these kids well. But..Their mother..Where is she now..? Doesn't Shlok miss her..?..But these kids miss her very much..They are really young and they need their mother's love and warmth in their lives.."
Then slowly she also drifted to sleep.
******************************************************
Next day morning, before going to office, Shlok reached Aastha's villa. The kids were still asleep. He didn't see Aastha anywhere around and so he decided to check inside the kitchen. There she was, busy preparing breakfast.

S: Aastha..

Aastha turned around and saw him..She smiled at him..

A: Hello Shlok..Good morning..

S:(smiling slightly) Good morning Aastha..I have come to tell you that I will not be coming for a few days.. An emergency has come at another one office, which is a little bit away from the city. I will be returning late at every night for a few days, and I will have to leave early morning too..So I am staying at my villa itself..Let the kids stay here itself.

A: It's ok Shlok, I will tell them when they wake up that their Papa is working away from here.
S: (smiles) I am really sorry for my rude behavior for the past two days. Please forgive me..
A: (smiles) it's alright Shlok, I can understand..Don't say sorry..
S: (smiles) Ok..Bye..
A: (smiles)Bye..

Shlok would make a call to Aastha's mobile every day to talk with the kids. He would talk with her too, but for one or two minutes. His relationship with Aastha gradually changed into a friendlier one. The duration of their conversations also increased by each passing day. It was true that they were talking about the kids, but they felt an unknown connection with each other.

Saturday arrived and Shlok returned to Aastha's home in the evening by 7.30 pm. The kids ran up to him and welcomed him fondly. They had missed their Papa terribly. He picked them both in his arms and kissed their cheeks. Then he looked at Aastha who was smiling at him warmly. He didn't know why, but he felt a tug in his heart seeing her. He smiled back affectionately.

A : I will prepare some tea for you..
S: Ok Aastha..

Aastha walked back into the kitchen and wondered why she was feeling so happy after seeing him again. She dismissed such thoughts and busily prepared some tea for him. She went into the drawing room and handed him his cup of tea. His hands accidentally brushed her fingers and she felt something in her heart. She sat down opposite to him. The kids were playing some games at a short distance from them.

A:So.. You had a hectic week..
S: Well..Yes Aastha..Now I am a bit relaxed. Tomorrow is Sunday and I can enjoy with my kids.
A: Hmm..That is right..(smiles)

Shlok loved her smile very much. It was innocent and cheerful. He wondered why he hadn't noticed it before. He had highly misunderstood her when they met for the first time. Then he thought "Well..the circumstances were like that.."

A: Shlok..What are you thinking about..?
S:(comes out of his thoughts) Err..Nothing Aastha..

Shlok sipped his tea and a few minutes passed without anymore conversation. He placed the empty cup on the teapoy and got up..

S: The tea was too good, Aastha..Thank you..(smiles)
A: (smiles) Thank you Shlok...
S: I would like to take a bath..
A: I will show you the guest room, Shlok..

Shlok followed Aastha as she climbed up the staircase. She led him to the bedroom adjacent to the bedroom used by her and the kids. She handed him a towel and showed him the bathroom. Aastha left the room and Shlok remembered the day when they had made the "deal" in the very same bedroom. He smiled at the thought and entered the washroom.

After having dinner, they were all watching T.V. Shlok's mobile rang and he saw that it was his Aayi..

S: Hello Aayi..
An: Did you reach there, Shlok..Are you with the kids now..?

Anjali had called up when Shlok was working out of the city. She was missing her grand children and she wanted to talk with them. Shlok told her everything about the happenings and that they were with Aastha now. Anjali was really surprised by the turn of events and she felt really anxious about their safety. Shlok assured her that the kids are really safer than they were with him. He had told her that he will be with the kids only by the weekend. That is why she was calling tonight..

S: Yes Aayi..I am with them..
An: (excitedly) Is it, Shlok..?I want to talk with them..
S : Sure Aayi..One second..

He handed the phone to his kids and they began to talk with Anjali..After talking for some time, Ayaan gave the phone to Aastha..

A: Why beta..?
Ay: She wants to talk to you..

Aastha got up and moved away from the kids so that they wouldn't overhear..

A: Hello..
An: Aastha beta..I am Shlok's Aayi..Are the kids troubling you..? I am really sorry beta..Actually I shouldn't have let them go with Shlok on his business trip..
A: No Aunty..They are wonderful kids..I just love them..Don't worry at all..
An: Ok beta..Bye..
A: Bye aunty..
