Part 8

Anjali was busy packing everything they would need for the trip but her mind was preoccupied she had figured out her husband was trying to make amends and mend his ways and she was ever grateful and proud of Niranjan but was extremely worried about Shlok and Astha, she had a bad feeling about Aditi and she didn't know what to do, she didn't believe even for a second that there really was a wedding she knew Aditi was planning something "Mujhe Shlok ko phone kar dena chaiye usse kum se kum baata toh doon hum goomne jaa rahe hai aur Aditi humare saath nahi jaa rahi" Anjali said pulling out her phone

Shlok was sitting in his cabin he was having a hard time concentrating on his work, he found himself constantly thinking about Astha; wondering what she was doing, did she take her medicine, was she resting, he sighed and pulled out his phone to call her until he heard her voice he didn't think he would get any work done, he was just about to call her when Anand came in

"Shlok sir aapke sign chaiye the iss file par aur phir humhe nikal na ho ga site dekhne ke liye"

Shlok nodded and put his phone down on the desk "lao file doh mujhe" quickly signing the file he followed Anand out to go and see the new site, leaving his phone behind on the desk.

Varad loaded the stuff into the back of the SUV he had rented so that the family could travel in one vehicle; he finished loading the last of the luggage just as Niranjan approached him "sab kuch aache se rakh liya Varad?" "Jee Baba" Varad said "ab humhe nikal na chaiye varna dher ho jayegi ponchte ponchte"

Anjali approached Niranjan "Sahb voh main Shlok ko phone karne ki koshish kar rahi thi voh phone nahi utha rahe agar jaane se pehle ik baar uss se baat ho jaati toh..." Niranjan stopped her "Haan Anjali maine phone kiya tha usko jab usne uthaya nahi toh maine office mein phone kiya tha waha pata chala voh Anand ke saath naayi site dekhne gaya hai lekin apna phone office mein bhool gaya" seeing Anjali's worried face "hum vaha ponch kar usko phone kar denge" he comforted "Jee Sahb" Anjali said heading into call Sojal and Kavya.

Aditi who had been standing on the balcony was thrilled "aaj toh kismet bhi mera saath de rahi hai" she laughed "Shlok office mein phone bhool gaya aur site dekhne nikal parda Astha ko akele chod kar" She pulled out her phone and called her accomplice filling him in on the new developments.

Astha was at home with her Ayi, she was missing Shlok a lot but at the same time was grateful for the time she got to share with her Ayi, at present she was telling her Ayi all about Shlok and how much he had changed. Kalindi smiled listening to her daughter talk any concerns she had about Astha and Shlok flying out the window. The mother daughter duo were lost in thought when an alarm went off on Astha's phone, Astha looked at her phone confused she hadn't set any alarm but her face broke out into a smile seeing what the alarm was set for

"Yeh Shlok bhi naa Ayi alarm laga ke gaye hain ke mujhe dawa kab leni hai" Astha said showing Kalindi her phone. Kalinid laughed "Kyunki Shlok ko bhi pata hai ke tu bhool jayegi" as she handed Astha a glass of water and her medicine "Kya Ayi ab tu Shlok ki team par ho gayi kya" Astha proclaimed taking the glass from Kalindi.

Shlok was sitting in the car as Anand drove to the site when he remembered he had been about to call Astha before Anand came in, he looked for his phone and realized he had left it back at the office "Astha phone karegi toh pareshan ho jayegi ab main kya karoon" Shlok panicked before turing to Anand "Anand jaldi mujhe apna phone dho mera phone office mein reh gaya aur mujhe Astha se baat karni hai"

"Yes Sir" Anand said handing Shlok his phone, Shlok grabbed the phone and went to dial Astha's number when he realized the battery was dead "Anand tumare phone ki battery dead hai car charger kaha hai?" Shlok snapped "Voh...Sir mere paas car charger nahi hai" Anand replied weakly afraid of his Shlok's anger "Kya car charger nahi hai?" Shlok was shocked "Ab main Astha se baat kaise karoon agar ussne mujhe phone kiya toh pareshan ho jayegi" Shlok leaned back in his seat, he was desperate to talk to Astha now he just wished they could hurry up and see the damn site so he could get back to his wife.

Anjali was upset she hadn't been able to reach Shlok she grabbed her phone and called Astha she had to let one of them know what was going on, she waited for Astah to answer

"Hello"

"Astha, main Ayi bhol rahi hoon maine tumhe yeh baatane ko phona kiya tha ke Sahb hum sab ko kahi goomne le jaa rahe hai"

"Sasu Bai yeh toh bahut aachi baat hai" Astha said happy for her family "Astha meri baat dhyaan se suno humare saath..."

"Anjali aap yaha hai aur vaha sab apka intezaar kar rahe hai chali naa" Niranjan said from the doorway "Jee sahb main bas abhi aayi" Anjali said looking down at her phone but the call was disconnected. Anjali slowy got up and followed Niranjan to the car stopping in front of the idol's and praying for Bappa to look after her two youngest children protecting them from harm before heading to the car.

Aditi was left alone in Agnihotri Mansion; she walked around the house as if she owned it laughing like a maniac to herself "bas ab manzil bahut kareeb hai aur phir yeh sab kuch mera ho ga" she walked into Astha and Shlok's room and stood in front of the mirror "aur yeh kamra Astha aur Shlok ka nahi balke mera aur Shlok ka ho ga" she smiled like a lunatic

Shlok and Anand arrived at the site and Shlok set to work to quickly determine whether this would be a good location for their future project so he could return to Astha as soon as possible, he had a bad feeling and didn't want to take any more chances. A short while later after determining that the location was good and all the paperwork and formalities were completed Shlok turned to Anand "Chalo jald se jald humhe vapas ponch na hai" Anand nodded and they set off for the office so Shlok could get his car and get to Astha.

Kalindi had gone to visit a friend she had tried several times to get Astha to go with her but Astha declined as Shlok would be home soon and she didn't want him coming home to an empty house. Astha had tried several times throughout the day to call but he hadn't answered nor called back, he might be busy with meetings Astha thought to herself but she was missing him terribly. Anjali had called earliar to inform her that the family was going on a trip but the call had gotten disconnected before she could hear everything Anjali had said. Astha was happy that the family would be spending time together and a part of her wished her and Shlok were going too but Astha had no desire to spend time Aditi, the further she stayed away from Astha and Shlok the better.Not able to watch tv any longer she headed upstairs to her room.

Astha was lying down waiting for Shlok when her cell rang, she looked at the number "yeh kiska phone hai" she thought answering the call "Jee main Mrs. Agnihotri se baat kar sakta hoon" the caller asked "Jee boliye" Astha said "Jee apke pati ka accident ho gaya hai unhone behosh hone se pehle aapka number likhaya tha aap please yaha jaldi aa jayiye" "Kya Shlok ka accident ho gaya?" Astha cried "Jaldi pata likha dijiye" noting down the address she quickly grabbed her purse and headed for the door but just as she was about to step out she remembered that no one was home and they would panic coming home to an empty house, so she grabbed a pen and paper and quickly wrote a note for her mom telling her Shlok had been in an accident and writing down the address she had been given; she placed the paper on the table and ran out the door. Astha waved down a taxi and urged the driver to hurry, "Bappa mere Shlok ki raksha karna unhe kuch honhe naa dena" Astha prayed "Bhaiya please jaldi keejiye naa"

Shlok finally arrived at the office and ran out of the car before it had even come to a full stop, running into his cabin he quickly grabbed his phone and saw the missed calls from Astha and Anjali, he dialed Anjali's number as he ran to his car so he could get to Astha as quickly as possible. Anjali answered the call and informed him the family had gone on a trip but Aditi had stayed back as she supposedly had a friends wedding to attend. Shlok was worried Aditi was still here and now she had no one to answer to as the family was gone, she was free to come and go as she pleased, Shlok decided to call Astha and warn her but then thought to himself that Kalindi is with her, I'll call her instead so Astha won't stress herself out.

"Ayi main Shlok bhol raha hoon, aap Astha ke paas ho naa?" he inquired

"Nahi Shlok beta main apni saheli ke ghar aayi thi maine Astha ko bhola tha saath chalne ke liye lekin usne maana kar diya?" Kalindi answered "Kya hua?"

"Kuch nahi maine toh aaise hi phone kiya tha main ghar ponchne waala hi hoon" Shlok said and ended the call. Shlok parked the car in front of the house and ran in calling out for Astha "Astha...Astha..." when his attention was caught by a piece of paper on the table; he read the note "Kya mera accident?" Shlok exclaimed "yeh zaroor Aditi ki koya chaal hai" Shlok said running out the door to his car, he headed to the address Astha had jotted down praying he reached Astha in time

Astha arrived at the address and quickly paid the driver, she ran out of the taxi calling out "Shlok...Shlok..."

"Astha" hearing her name she turned around and came face to face with Aditi

"Aditi tum?" Astha said shocked seeing her

Aditi threw her head back and laughed "Uff ho Astha tum kitni baari bewakoof ho pata nahi Shlok ne tum me kya dekh liya jo tumse shaadi karli"

"Aditi toh mar chuki hai main toh Swati hoon Swati" she laughed manically

"Swati?"

"Haan Swati tumare Shlok ki Swati" Aditi/Swati laughed and she launched into an explanation of how she became Aditi from Swati.

FLASHBACK

Swati was fuming as she got on to the bus, her plan had flopped as Shlok's mother had caught her red handed and thrown her out of Shlok's life threatening to hand her over to the police if she didn't leave on her own. She had been so close to becoming the queen of Agnihotri Mansion but Anjali had overheard her talking to herself about how she was only with Shlok for the money and thrown her out. She sat in her seat contemplating her next move when the seat next to her was occupied bya girl who immediately introduced herself as Aditi and launched into detail of where she was goin, where she was coming from and so on. Swati tuned her out but when she heard Agnihotri she engaged the girl in conversation and found she was the daughter of a friend of Niranjan Agnihotri. Swati talked to the girl for awhile until she lost interest and pretended to go to sleep when suddenly the bus lost control and went off the road crashing into a tree and she lost consciousness. When she came to she saw her face had received severe damage cursing her fate she looked around and realized the girl sitting next to her had passed away from the crash a plan suddenly coming to her she grabbed the girl's purse and belongingsalong with her own things and disappeared into the night. She waited for the her face to heal before using the money Anjali had given her to get plastic surgery taking Aditi's face as her own and began to live life as Aditi which wasn't as hard as she thought because she retrieved her diary from her belongings and had spent weeks reviewing it while she waited for her face to heal.

END FLASHBACK

"Ab tumhe khatam karke main phirse Shlok ke kareeb aajaoongi aur ab toh humari shaadi se bhi kisi ko koi problem nahi ho gi kyunki main toh Aditi hoon Shlok ke Baba ke dist ki beti" Swati said innocently as she pulled out a gun and aimed it at Astha
