Shloak was driving. He was not in a rush because his mind was preoccupied with so many thoughts. " will she really leave me for Karan. What if he is a better person than me. What I'm I thinking... Anyone will be better for her than me. But she loves me...right. I should try..after all I'm Shloak agnihotri". He stared the rear view mirror and then shook his head. " who I'm I kidding. We are taking about Astha here. Sure she is a nice person... But my god... She runs by her own rules... She will sleep with deadly cockroaches and rats but not with me... What I'm I gonna do? Idiot Shloak you had 6 months... 6 months and now you come to your senses... Truly you don't deserve her dude" looks at the mirror and shakes his head again.
Astha was peeking at him...said " why are you being weird, I mean more than usual! don't tell me, you are drunk again! I swear I'm not helping you to your room tonight. You almost choked me out of my breath last time. You should stop the car. I don't want to die"
Shloak thought " what! Only she can come up,with this nonsense. Well, I cannot entirely blame her. I guess I did get a lil bit carried away... Ok, fine a lot carried away with my revenge plan" he looked at her and said " I'm not drunk.. Okay. But I'm hungry. Do you want something to eat"
Astha annoyingly said " not from you. No thanks"
Shloak thought " just when I try to be nice she had to change and show this attitude.. Why does it have to get so difficult" ... He was looking for a good place to eat, because he was sure she would not have had anything to eat until now. "Sure explains the crankiness " murmured.
Astha said " what did you say now" .. Shloak said " nothing meri ma" and saw something as his eye lit up. He pulled over to stop the car looked at her and said... "U can starve all you want, I'm getting myself something" and got out.
She was fuming and thought "remember this astha... This is the real Shloak... He does not care... Be strong. Ignore him" it slowly started to rain a bit... Shloak came back running inside the car. He had two parcel food. "I got you one too just so I won't get a tummy ache from your evil starving eyes... U don't need to eat..." He said.
Astha folded her hands and turned away... Looked at the rain. It was starting to pour... " Mmm what's that smell she thought. What... VADA-PAV. It smells delicious ... I'm kinda drooling... Bapa help. Control astha control"
Shloak had a smirk he could not wipe off from his face. He did see a few good restaurants... He knew she is not gonna be easy. He tried to pretend like he was focused on his food and casually made a statement... " you know I will just have to throw it away if you don't want. Never mind. I'm almost done. We will leave soon" she just grabbed the parcel and opened it to eat. Shloak was staring at his cute wife. She said" what!? well, I just don't want to waste it now" he said "of course"... Not able to control his stare or smirk at all.
They started driving again. Astha was thinking... "What I'm I gonna say to sasubai... Big drama going to happen now. He loves to put me down, he won't let this chance go waste". They entered the house... Sojal was asking them why they are back so soon. Shloak said " everything is fine now. He is out of hospital. Since they insisted I took her back home" shocked was an understatement for astha right now... She thought " why... Did... He ... Do... That... He is not nice... Never nice to me. Now what is he up to, another revenge plan" anyways... She kept her mouth shut. Went to his room. Was exhausted... Went inside the bathroom... Changed and was about to take her pillow and sheet. Something felt awkward... Turned around to see Shloak leaning at the door staring at her again.
He said " you are sleeping with me in our bed" she was furious and said "why mr.shloak agnihotri? What happened in the last 24 hours that you are sharing your royal bed"
He started walking closer...and closer... He was not angry but oh boy was he confused..."I have messed up really bad" he thought, "how I'm I going to fix this? I should focus one thing at a time, target- get her to sleep on my nah our bed"...astha was walking backwards... While he said " well, you almost ran away to disappear...I cannot let it happen again. I'm sleeping on the floor with you"
Astha laughed and said " really! suit yourself" in her mind thinking, "yea right you on the floor. lets see"
Shloak was not giving up. Lied next to her. She just closed her eyes right away as if she dint give a damn. He felt very uncomfortable... It was hurting his back. Cursing himself for letting astha go through this for months... He tossed and turned.. Finally he turned on the side and started looking at her beautiful face. Her eyes was like a pretty curve with long eyebrows, Perfect fit. Nose was sharp and straight... Her lips so red and delicious. He came closer to her face. She felt his breath on her cheeks and jumped up. Shouted " what are you doing?"
He said, "look, you said not to touch, I was not touching. It's not my fault. There is not enough space here"
She lifted her eyebrows and said " you are right I need my space... I will put a wall of pillows between us... Okay?" He nodded. They moved to the bed. She murmured " donno what's all the new fuss about bed now.. Ridiculous!"
He smilingly made a reply "Whatever keeps you from running" and sneekish-ly tied her saree pallu to his finger . "What's this?" She asked... He smiled and repeated "Whatever keeps you from running"
Astha was mad "I'm not your dog"
Shloak replied "No you are not , dogs only bit. ... You are worse. You are my wife, you can kill me"
She looked like she was going to burst... He wanted to act fast... He said "I want you to know about my past... Whatever you want to ask .. Shoot"
She was taken aback for a minute... But she pulled herself to gather and said " you have your new sorry old friend to discuss all those, why are you wasting your time on me"...She was tierd.. She build her pillow wall and lied down showing her back to him..." Just 20 more days astha. Hold on" , she claimed
A minute later she turned around and saw him staring her back skin... Pulled her sheet like her life depends on it and decided to start sleeping
Shloak was not sure why she said that. It can't be for just standing close to adithi...He felt hurt that she dismissed him. It was an interesting day today he realized. He knew she had lost hope on him.. He knew she was hurt... He knew, she don't trust him at all...He knew he wanted her so badly... He knew, he need her to live...But he din't know how to erase the past and start over. The only hope he had now is his love towards her. She stood by him when there was no love, she definitely will be his...if he somehow let her know he loves her now more than his life. He knew he cannot just say it anymore... There goes his sleep... But the fact that she was right next to him in the same bed puts a huge smile on his face. He was happy right that moment ...
