~** The Fire Burning Within..**~
Part-1.
Shlok smiled at a joke one of his friends made..Really not understanding what was being said or laughed about..
He was really not interested in anything other than..Other than Astha..His loathed,hated,and unloved wife,Astha Shlok Agnihotri..
He took a sip of the wine from the goblet,and his eyes scanned the crowd looking for her..She was still not here.
Politely Shlok smiled at something another of his friends said,but like earlier he had not heard a word.
Where is she?!He thought restlessly,again looking through the crowds of party people..
He had planned this ultimate humiliation for her,with lots of relish.
It had all started with the invitation from his college friend Shivin..
Shlok had been planning not to attend his friend's party,when a thought had struck him..
As far as Shlok knew,Shivin had said the party's theme would be western attire..He meant a definite no to Indian dresses..
So if Shlok made Astha dress in Indian attire,and took her to the party,then she would be the laughing stock of the party..His eyes had glinted with glee at the mere thought of once again being able to humiliate her and satisfy his ego..
So with that intention Shlok had drove out to with Astha his friend's farm house in the outskirts of Mumbai,where the party would be held in the evening.
And Shlok had specifically ordered Astha that she was supposed to dress traditionally,like everyone else in the party..
Of course the stupid girl had no idea that the party would be filled with chic and classy social elite people,who rarely wore traditional clothes..And even looked down at those who did so..
So Shlok was confident Astha would be a laughingstock in the party,and then he would be gaining his victory and satisfaction..
It was a good thing he was staying here overnight,at least his beloved father will not be offended at his act.Nor did he have to give any explanation to his brother,who had recently turned into Astha's guardian angel for no reason at all..
A slight bitter taste rose at his throat at the thought,that the only people who really mattered to him now,where supporting Astha..He wanted revenge from her for that reason too..How could she dare to take away his support from the people that mattered to him..
His upper lip curled up with distaste at the thought,as his dark eyes looked at the crowd of partying people,buzzing,mingling and dancing to the music..
All the ladies were in modern outfits of long or short dresses,and no one was in traditional Indian dress..And Shlok was perfectly aware that each and every one of these members of the female species was a bitch under all those makeup and modern attire..They were all looking for a chance to cut the other to shreds..And if Astha dressed in traditional dress landed among then,then..
Aah..Will Astha be able to survive this..?Poor girl..He thought with no sympathy at all.
Something made Shlok turn towards the staircase..
Someone was coming down..
TINKLE TINKLE TINKLE..
The sound of traditional glass bangles suddenly seemed to bring a hush in the party,as everyone was in modern attire,the sound of the bangles sounded strange..
Shlok smiled wickedly with satisfaction,and leaned back against the pillar behind him,and took another sip from the wine glass in his hand..It was time for show down,and he intended to enjoy every second of this..
Slowly she stepped lower down the staircase,and suddenly a light fell on her..
It was followed by a shocked gasp from the entire crowd..
Astha had her face covered due to the bright light,not aware that it was all Shlok's planning..
As she did so,everyone in the party took in her attire and her..
Astha was wearing a black georgette see through saree with tiny sleeveless blouse encrusted with tiny black beads all over..Her long silky hair were left open,and long matching black earings dangled from her ears,and then she removed her hand from her face..
Shlok felt he was hit hard onto his stomach.
Her slanted eyes, now kohl rimmed,looked large,beautiful and mysterious,her lips suddenly looked rosy and pouty,her creamy fair skin glowed even more due to her black saree,and her petite form suddenly looked hot,sexy ,and curvaceous..And for the first time Shlok felt she looked gorgeous and stunning instead of backdated and too traditional..
The lights went off,but Shlok noticed no one had moved their eyes off her yet,and suddenly he did not like it at all..
He was about to walk towards her when she suddenly took a nervous step down,and slipped..
Shlok had not taken two steps when he noticed a good looking young man hold her in his arms,and smile into her eyes,preventing her fall.
Shlok nearly crushed the wine glass in his hand,as hot undeniable burning rage took over his entire mind and body..
He had no idea what was happening to him,but he was only aware that the young man still held Astha close to himself and his body,as he smilingly talked to her..
It was nothing compared to what he felt,when Astha smiled back and said something in response,making the young man laugh..He felt angrier than he had ever felt in his entire life..
The guy still had not removed his hand from round her,but seemed to move closer to her..
Shlok suddenly saw red,as without thinking further,he pushed the wine glass into the hands of a nearby waiter,and started striding towards them..
