I watched it for Barun but ended up liking the other characters as well...it was definitely difficult to digest in the first go...because frankly speaking it's not a goody too shoes character that we see in tv shows...but hatsoff to Barun for taking such a challenging character. ...portraying it flawlessly...you want to hate his samar but you can't...he expresses every emotion brilliantly...but subtly love..loss...guilt...
And finally I'm just very happy to see him back in action after one long year...on our mobile screens this time...
This adds another feather to his cap. ..the guy can play a character with shades of grey and play it in a such a way that you still can't hate him...people who haven't watched TGIDF yet...go and watch it guys. .. 😛 it may be a shocker the first time...but once u digest u can go back and watch it for Barun. ..😉...Sorry for the long post...got carried away
Hey!!! That's a truly genuine, beautiful Post... why apologise for something said so well...
Same as you, I watched it for Barun... and as always, fell more in love with the guy, Barun the actor. Even I ended up liking other characters including Vimmi.😉 and hugely Mridul🤗
Samar is a hugely challenging character to play and Barun slayed it to the finest detail... his body language, those small nuances... like his hand reaching over his mother's when all are tensed about Vikram's news... his slight hesitation before giving into a weak moment...his facial expressions in those intense moments with his bro, with his hospitalised mom, with his angry wife...
Barun makes us feel more for Samar than Kay kay though the story revolves around defending Kay Kay's character, Vikram. I felt this hugely because Vikram gets the moment where he and his wife reconcile. Somehow, the missing of that reconciliation from Sonali makes you feel sadder for Samar...
Somehow as a character I found Sonali short... I loved the scene where Gita gives her back "Ye Sab likhavake laati ho ya tumhara original hai". Same as Samar, I felt like telling her, stop your fact finding mission, get human Lady! I did not like Sonali's not being able to forgive a husband who has showered love on you for so many years... and that too when erring is before marriage.
A lot of loopholes otherwise also...like why does the Mum say, " Kyunki unke papa bhi Chutiya the" , Rukmini saying Soutele lagate ho and Samar agreeing with it...one scene with Vikram and sonali over a drink...her wanting to defend herself or challenge Vikram about the comment made on her... did not come out at all.
Disclaimer: My impression alone! No offense intended.
I agree with u on most points👍🏼..they made Vikram kind of mahaan. ..this actually made me realise I'm watching Ekta's show lol.😃..though kay kay menon was superb as Vikram..samar is flawed. .he knows his mistake...he is guilty but in love with his wife. ..don't want to loose her because of mistake done in past. ..we feel sad for him...again I feel if this mistake was done with someone else other than from within family. ..I feel Sonali's reaction would be a little different...but whatever happened ...it happened within the family...hence the great indian dysfunctional family...
And ditto to many loose threads as u mentioned. ..theven sautele brothere comments and many others...
But his haters would be having a field by commenting on his choice of role I guess...which I seriously don't care. ..
I genuinely enjoyed his performance. ..he is a treat to watch...
