Chandni on paper is a nice character etch - one of quieter heroines who goes about her battles her own way. There was a dialogue she utters early on "Gussey say baat banthi nahi bigadthi hai" - a snapshot of who she is as a person.

She has had a crazy few days that started from frightening date with Pratham, triggering her PTSD panic attack, being rescued and brought back home only to find a baby with almond allergies and secret discovered by Advay, to an engagement where the groom was swapped and being whisked to a secret wedding place. Groom swap encore and married to Advay with very little choice!! 😲😲Phew!! my hand, it hurts typing this!! This is one of the characters that had had the most dramatic change of events in serial time so I expected some introspection when the night had gone quite and she was standing in the room. A moment to soak in and process the chain of events she has been put thorough. Unfortunately, the writers did not do the mehrabani making us wonder how can she keep taking the hits?

Chandni was resigned to a sham loveless marriage with Pratham, the same continued with Advay too- in those lines I did not expect a push back on Friday. The precap indicated the baby secret is out in the open and hopefully this will trigger the beginning of her breaking point? The viewers need to root for Chandni and Advay and not leave the story a one-sided narration which is not palatable!

Shivani can act and I like her in the toned down scenes. Having said that, her character demands more nuances in terms of expressions to root for Chandni particularly since lions share of her scenes are with Ritu and Barun. She needs to ramp up very fast as the story now delves into (I hope) how she goes about fulfilling her vachan? It will help if the writers are consistent with Chandni, the character and the actress can benefit from that!

I don't think Advay will out her secret
He had promised her he will not tell any one
So he will keep the parentage a secret
But Chandni will be happy if the baby stays with them

Mira,
Gul is always partial towards her hero. The hero always gets the most layered character and if the actress pitched against the hero knows her job, she will perform way beyond what the script demands and till date, according to me only two women have done that and Shivani is not one of them.

Also Chandni is the weakest character in Gul's stories. She is the most submissive of them all and a character like that requires an actor par excellence, who knows how NOT to make her a rondhu and as of today, she is nothing but a rondhu for me, who would not utter a word even if PP abused or molested her. I do feel bad for her occasionally, but it will take forever before I start rooting for her.

Shivani is pretty good in scenes where the focus is on someone else or is an extremely normal scene. For instance, in Friday's episode, I liked her in morning scenes where she was with Nani and Advay. Her breakdown about her kidnap was good, but that's the only scene I can think of where I was almost satisfied with her performance, but there too I didn't cry till I saw the conflict on Advay's face 😕

Barun playing Advay is not helping either. He is so convincing that as the anti-hero yet am unable to hate him.

So as of today I am Keen to see more of Advay-Indrani than Advay-Chandini and that's not positive for a show like this.

PS has given me hope that in less than two weeks, Chandini will come out of this rondhu mode and I really hope the makers work on Chandu's character. As I have always said, no matter how good Advay-Indrani/ Barun-Shivani are, the show will not see the kind of success makers hope for, until the audience start reacting to Chandini.

Haven't returned to the land of watching till yet. Still religiously following my WUs 😆 the writing for the FL has been the crappiest among all of them. The ML is always given leeway with things but the FL gets the shortest stick of the bargain hamesha in Char Sher's soaps. I'll be doing a bit comparison here from S1, where also they didn't show any inner monologues for the FL when hate marriage happened but atleast she questioned him and called him out in his actions.
I don't mind her being submissive, most desi women are, but I want the FL to get more screen time of her own to reflect on things on how and what is going on. If she's internally strong then stop with the crying business, she has, albeit after being blackmailed, willingly entered this marriage then fight back! Call him out on his actions!

I'm happy that they are getting back to the original concept, if not the whole of it, but at this point I'm glad with whatever they can give as long as it is no superman jumps and remote controlled experiments. That was nonsense. Period. And Barun is doing what he does best, angst, so that department is taken care of. Now if only the FL would find the correct footing in this revenge business, I'll be a happy soul 😃 Also I'm not keeping many expectations this time, they've been phaila-ing bleach all over my umeedein 😆

A desi Dexter without the brains 😆 Where they messed up was with Chandni. They needed a woman who looks delicate & petite but whose strength surprises everyone. Remember how she clobbered her kidnapper & escaped from his clutches. This sniffing Abla Naari that they are showing is NOT that strong woman who can weather the storm called Advay.

😲 without brain? Makers wants us to believe he is Stephen Hawkings 😛

Exactly ... a petite and delicate woman with a lot of mental strength...this constant crying is making her looking nothing like that 🥱

Nice post. Although I did disagree to most of things you said but I still respect your pov. Keep posting. My answers in shades of blue.

thanks for sharing your views 😊

Chandni as a character might be strong but the makers has been keeping this crying up to a bit too long ... eventually she might turn the table...just that its not fun to watch an anti-hero with a submissive lady... more entertaining when both has equal standing ...one evil and other as good at giving it back ... not that i want her to be having tit for tat actions... a sharp dialogue or a serious cold shoulder ...something ...

I understand your point ...she seems to have a strength of character ...but the show runners seems to forget...

and whose whole world was turned upside down
On the basis of a girl's words whom he trusted
Telling her to not move from her place is really not much
Also he did not expect her to stand the whole night
Chandni has just gone to a new place
She will take time to adjust there
Once done she will fight back I am sure

Advay's reasons are all very compelling ... no two question about that ... but the only way his actions can be explained is that his is lost ... not a normal thinking person ... but someone suffering from trauma ... he mind is not balanced and thats only reason for his actions.

With money ad power any case verdict can change
Also he wants to take his own revenge and not depend on any one else

Exactly why I said going for law.. Advay is loaded ... and sharp brain...with lots of connection. For him to trap the family which is in huge financial crisis is an easy job... Maybe not the old case but even a fabricated one would do...

The point is I was under the impression that Advay was trying to figure out the other crime partners ...Chandini was his stepping stone...and also understand he wants to hurt them... but what he is doing now is buring the very bridge he build by his obsession with hurting chandini ...

seems he forgot to focus on the other culprits and even no attempts to find his brother ... 😕
