I am glad they trusted their instincts and stuck with their judgement to bring in the baby track. After all they have been in the business for years and have proved their mettle a number of times before. So I for one prefer to give them the benefit of doubt and go easy on them. If they would have shown the love triangle, I would have lapped it up. Since they are going ahead with the baby track, I am fine with this too. I loved the initial promos on how the show was sold and especially the Dussehra promo, so a love triangle perhaps, would have showcased Sobti's brilliant talent as a suave player and I would have condoned it whole-heartedly. I am an easy to please viewer, which is why I buy the show without questioning it. Anyhow with Sobti being on screen, giving up is never an option. Yes, I am entitled to my likes and dislikes without having to explain myself or being shown the other perspective which is why I did say yesterday that I am not averse to the baby track at all but if we do compare the possible tracks then I would still prefer the triangle. The beauty of discussions is to appreciate the varied point of views, to each their own. A third choice too, would have perhaps been more like a fairytale one, not that it could not have fit the bill. But who knows maybe they do show a triangle later on, since it was part of the show initially. Never say never, is my motto. 😉
Anyway, since I have already written on old Sushpectives at length I will copy paste my response from your older thread. Had stated upfront that I am in the minority buying the baby track. The only thing was a contemplation wrt the earlier track. Giving up the child to the orphanage was expected in a closed society like Allahabad, where pre marital sex or rape and child-birth is still a taboo. So it does makes sense for Chandni to have kept the child away. What perhaps was not in line was her keeping this away from Meghna. She had a right to know.
Perhaps, I am in the minority who had made peace with this new track and I was looking forward to it. But I was totally expecting a character butchering of Meghna after having borne a child and delivered it. And since the track was added recently, the built-up and Meghna's introspection was all missing. The least they could have shown was her being wary of strangers at some times. Anyway, the point is, the truth about Chandni separating the child from Meghna only throws doors open for bringing in the grey shade to Meghna, as we were promised in the beginning of the show.
However, my point is they didnt have to kill the fun and bring in a baby to get Meghna to hate Chandni. I mean, she could have possibly without knowing that Advay was pursuing Chandni and that Chandni was attracted somewhere, could have been infatuated with him. And later on would have learnt the dynamics of the relationship between the leads. Its cliche but at least it was believable. This baby track is so unidirectional and leaves the characters uptight. But they have taken a non-cliche route to the sister's animosity, so there has to be more to it.
And Chandni's pursuit of solace wrt Indrani only proves that she goes onto any extent for keeping her loved ones happy. I cant even imagine what she will do when she will learn Advay is Dev. Its really magnanimous of her to do that but I was looking forward to a FL who was grey in her own way, needless to say that my attempts at understanding Chandni have been made futile, once again. There goes my dream down the drain, and the less said the better about the redemption track.
As for Advay, he is the only one whom I understand amidst the sea of people who surround him. But I am not putting it past the makers to blind him in revenge instead of rage this time as he inflicts pain on Chandni. I think Sobti said that in a BTS too. Anyway, a hate marriage is what I have signed up for, so that is the only thing I am looking forward to now, apart from Sobti of course. I just hope the manhandling is kept away, as far away as possible.
Btw, few good things from the episode, Mamaji's specs is gone. And Nani got a makeover. 😛 Yes, she is looking nice with darker hair and mute make-up along with the bindi. Also, I loved how Chandni recollected that she hates PP and his touch. And Sobti as usual as Advay was very convincing. I liked the little touches they have given to his character.
Overall, a fast paced and gripping episode, but one that leaves you asking for more, somewhere. Nevetheless, for me it built-up the interest and I am game for more. 😳
On point of Chandni 's blind love for her mother, its a very humane thing and people's love has variations and I dont question their sense of judgement. So if Chandni loves her mother blindly, she has her reasons.
Why are we talking about virginity, what did I miss? Since I am well versed with the shows from this team, their MLs are usually not uptight and pretty accepting to past relationships as they themselves are ladies men. Season 1 had the guy accepting the lady as it is. The only issue was he didnt condone an affair with a married man. Similarly, in other two shows the men have accepted their women as they are. The only thing they demand is complete loyalty and adhere to it too. Yes, the makers have endorsed progressive stuff which is why they have built up the huge fan following over the last few years. So yes Advay's acceptance was not a surprise. What surprised me was that he trusted his instincts and introspected. That was ideally a first. Anyway, dont mean to compare since its not in accordance to the rules but just saying that these little stamps from the makers reinforces our belief in their workmanship and makes up for a good watch.
The engagement precap is a welcome change and I am assuming you watched the wedding promo too, I had asked you that in the older thread, not sure if you saw it. In all probability its a hate marriage and it will be interesting to see if Advay keeps the facade up for the softening, Chandni who can now see through PP's intentions. Or will he leave her addled with his thawing hate which he fights to keep up while her innocence stares right back at him.
