The writers have set it up beautifully. The Heroine who craves the love of a mother will be forced to choose between the man she loves (the same man whom she thought she had lost once already) and her step-mother. It is exactly this kind of high-stakes that makes dramatic fiction successful. Formulaic, but I LOVE it! Especially when well-executed.

If she's a rondhu now and a pawn for both Advay and Indrani - it only gives me hope that she'll eventually come to hold her own against them when the situation arises in the future. After a day or two of expressing my frustration with her character (because personally, it's tiring complaining about it after every single episode), I'm looking at the positives which is that should the show run it's course of a year, her character is going to develop progressively. Fingers crossed. This weepy, 'Ma' jhaap karne wali, pyaar mein andhi Chandni is rock-bottom, I feel. I'm sticking around to hopefully see her come into her own person - that spitfire from her bachpan.

And Advay/Dev will be key in bringing her out even as he exacts his 'revenge' from her.

I don't see Chandani as Rondhu...she has been fighting hard...The plan for PP to escape and get help was hers...She was pretty fierce when she threw the Haldi plate...

I like Chandani's character already! 😊

He charged 25 lac😲 😲 and for what aj ki party ? Man they could not bring Salman Khan in season 1 so are trying to compensate for him😛 Then the sasuma will hit to be jamairaja. How jaalim is that. Poor Barun he must be in his weird makeup with all that blood on his birthday. 😭

Raising kids is not a simple thing...I wonder even if a character like Indrani faked it for so many years...doesn't that matter? I think it does to Chandani...that's why her character makes so much sense to me...specially since she knows she is a step child and can not automatically expect the care...

Being a mom isn't easy at all... Hope she gets back to her healthy best and you catch some sleep.

You know I have always wondered about this. Post Dev kaand, Indrani raised Chandni with love and warmth. Even though it was fake, for the longest time Chandini wouldn't have understood her mom's real feelings for her. What forced her to kidnap Chandini all of a sudden? That's why I always thought Indrani was gray and not dark. Had Ritu not been so convincing I would have a confused expression on my face today.

About Chandini: I actually understand her POV, but not her approach. I liked how she tried to fight Advay who was waiting to complete the Haldi rasam, but I wanted to see an angry or an irritated expression on her face. The moment she cries, it takes away the intensity. I think even TRP audience like the consistent fight back spirit of the FL . I am not sure if it's the call of the director to make her weep.

I am glad it's working for a lot of you, because if we cannot connect with either of the leads, we won't be left with a valid reason to watch the show 😭

Ritu is slaying as Indrani. Even though I am not a fan of khoon kharaaba, I cannot stop appreciating her talent 👏

Chandni: it's become my daily chant 😆 I cannot like weeping FLs. I like people who give it back in style. I cannot support a p erson who does not care even a bit about herself. Here Chandini singlehandedly brings down the intensity with never ending weeping. As Sush said, she did try to escape, but I wanted her to be strong about this, since she was so confident of having no interest to marry Advay. I cannot figure out if it's the character or the actor, but that's a discussion best for CCs and Twitter.

But since yesterday I am not even liking Advay so I have taken a break till the end of Shaadi. Once things settle down, I will get back to it.
