Where do I begin with this awesome, amazing and spectacular episode. Seriously. This episode had me clutching my heart.
The episode starts off with Advay carrying Chandni in his arms. Advay has his victorious half-smile. Advay starts walking when a bell rings. Advay realizes he is stepping on nails. Chandni exclaims it's not easy to pick her up. Advay retorts that he doesn't walk on easy roads, which is actually not a lie in this revenge scheme. Chandni continued that if he competed the rasam, he'll be in pain. Advay tells her that he will take her pain as a gift and take care of it. This actually Advay saying he keeps Chandni's pain as a souvenir, he accepts her pain so willfully enough to keep it.
This is not Advay's first time walking on nail. His entire revenge scheme is this, a series of hurting himself in the process of hurting Chandni. So he does keep her pain close to him, because it fuels him. Justifies him.
Chandni in this situation is better. I can't hate her. Advay is not pure that hurting him is a crime. He hurt her in this episode too. This episode shows a grey-side to Chandni. A very subtle grey shade to Chandni. A cruelty we don't see from her as often. Sure, Chandni has her justifications, but like Advay, she is not right. Advay doing the rasam was not just for their rishta to go forward, but it also protected her honour from being humiliated after taking the diya. Saving her from a bad omen in the process of scheme. Very subtle there too. All in all, I don't mind this side of Chandni and neither should you. You should be happy that Chandni is getting this character depth in a grey shade.
Chandni in this scene gauges Advay's reaction. She watches him, her attention divided between the diya that is their rishta and him who takes pain for that to walk forward. All she can do is watch.
The song is interesting as it plays. Should I live or die. The song is not necessarily as related to AdvNi but that one line can go a long way. Should I live or die in this revenge? In your hatred.
Advay walks unhindered. They reach the top. Chandni sets the diya. Indrani tells AdvNi that they can't let the diya go out. This Chandni and Advay are tasked to protect the diya, meaning their relationship. Advay and Chandni stare at each other, Lord Ganesh is in the back. They must accept to protect the diya and their relationship. They are being ordained this way.
Chandni says he got hurt. Advay retorts that coming close to her always gets him hurt. The truth. Advay always gets hurt in this revenge because he now has to hurt his best friend. The pain that fills him as he strikes her. An equal exchange blow.
Advay goes to sit down, in that time, Murli calls him and tells him to come. Advay reached their and grabs Murli's collar. A woman expresses for him to let go of his collar.
It's our dear Nani, another character I am seemingly going to have to protect at all costs. Nani's entire presence is so warming. The air is filled with a history. Nani can order Advay around and he is so willful. Nani expresses Murli leave. She sends him a flying slap for not listening. That was funny. I love this woman.
Nani muses over Advay's popularity in London. I guess Advay's brood but good looks was a heartbreaker type for all the ladies. I wonder if Advay is virgin, did he have a girlfriend? Did he do all his kaand before shaadi?
Nani calls him Chiku, which sounds adorable. The two get really deep into the conversation. Nani asks him not to complete his revenge, because those who win in hatred, lose themselves. Advay tearful remarks that he would lose if had something to lose.
Side Note: What about Nani? You'd lose her.
Nani tells Dev that the truth has many faces. You only know what you saw. But maybe Chandni's side is different. This goes back to the truth is the truth, but I said that there was no one truth. Just like there is no one side to a story of two people. This does not matter to Dev, the truth is that the Vashisths ruined them and turned their name into an insult. So he plans to do the same to them.
I realized that this is Nani asking Dev to look in Chandni's point of view. But the thing is, Dev doesn't want to. He doesn't want to understand. It's not even that he didn't try, it because he doesn't see it necessary to understand Chandni. This is only further proof that he doesn't want to understand her.
Dev reveals he has not done his parents astiyan. Which gives me an idea of what should happen in the future. I hope after Advay comes to closure with Chandni, that he does their astiyan with her.
I love this. I cried with them. I wonder if Chandni knows Nani. Nani seems to be a positive character and I hope she stays that way.
In parallel to our tearful Advay, Chandni is upset too. She's getting married and not a day goes by where she doesn't miss Dev and look at his stone. The stone that gives her strength. Niru approached Chandni. He comforts her. He is someone that she can talk too.
Chandni talks about all the times that she fought with Dev. She hated him so much she asked him to leave, and now when he's gone, he's all she can think about.
Side Note: Miku and Shikha know each other. They were childhood friends too then! ShiVeer are confirmed childhood sweethearts.
Chandni muses that she would not have minded marrying Dev. She almost saw that future with him. This means that she loves Dev beyond friendship. Dev is her lover.
In the next scene, Advay and Chandni protect the diya. They are protect their relationship from a bad omen.
Chandni says she didn't think he'd protect the diya, Advay muses that she doesn't know him. Not false, she doesn't even know what he wants let alone his true identity. Chandni muses that he does not know her either. Not false either. Advay only knows what he thinks of Chandni, but he never tried to know or understand her. That's why he calls her a Parda and Farabe.
Chandni offers Advay medicine to heal the wounds on his feet. He calls her worry for him a lie. Chandni goes about how he goes round and round with his taunts and is never clear about what he hates her for. This is Chandni being unable to recognize Dev and why he's mad.
Chandni requests Advay to be away from her family. Chandni says they are good people who have hurt no one. They are straight people. Advay sarcastically adds, really? He can see this as a lie, smelling it a mile away.
Chandni insists he not do anything to her family. She extends her friendship and the medicine along with it. This is a chance for Advay to walk from revenge and apply medicine to the wounds he's left open for 16 years. However he rejects it, smacking it out of her hand, he rejects everything it stands for- including their friendship, the possibility of healing, her lying to him and herself. And why should Advay accept this medicine from Chandni? She hurt him just tonight in cruelty. Why should he trust that side of her?
He also rejects because he doesn't want the person that caused him pain to apply the cure. He can't erase a pain that has be bred for 16 years. It goes psychologically. Advay doesn't want this cute from Chandni because it only add insult to injury. A victim can't seek solace in their tormentor.
The conflict turns into Zid vs Junoon for a moment. This is her stubbornness versus his obsession and he isn't backing down. He will ruin her family, and he does what he says. Advay walks away.
For me, Chandni was like a mirror of Advay in this scene. Chandni hurt Advay and then tried to heal him. Just like Advay tortures Chandni and they pretends to be by her side as a saviour. If this is not a perfect reflection, then I guess I don't know what is.
Advay might have been bear feet, did the medicine accidentally get on his legs?
Next morning(?), Indrani congratulates Chandni for keeping the diya safe. Indrani tells her the Prajapatis are here to see Chandni's childhood videos.
The scene moves to MurShi where Shilpa learns of Nani from Murli. Shilpa wishes to meet Nani after hearing about her.
The scene goes to everyone getting excited about the videos. They start watching the photos go by, they seem sweet.
Horrifically, the video turns out to be Ranjeet and Shakun being loved dovey with each other. Everyone is horrified. Advay has succeeded. I'm disappointed that this exposed happened quicker than I thought and Chandni did not try to thwart any plots. That's so sad. Not sure how I feel about that. Hopefully Chandni tries to be more active.
In the Precap, Mrs. P breaks the rishta once and for all. Indrani's head is lowered. Advay taunts Chandni, congratulating her that her rishta broke.
The episode was really well done! I'm honestly gonna rewatch this 100 times. This episode proves how indepth the writers were going. How much they thought of with the plot of the show. It makes me excited to watch this show if they can keep this consistency of writing, because everything in this episode was so poignant that I actually felt connected to the plot.
