I loved how he was essentially a decent guy beneath all those anger outbursts and ended up doing the right thing...or regretting if he had done wrong!

IKR! He's a goodie behind all those tough walls and defence mechanisms.

I loved his relationships with his sister towards who, he was so caring...towards his grandma...towards his brother ...Towards Khushi's relatives..and yes towards Khushi too even at times when he was angry...There was so much to love about the guy, despite those flaws..

The jury is still out on Advay (note, I didn't say Barun).

Oh God yes! Apart very few times Advay was dressed decently, Arnav scores too many brownies in this department.

But of course needless to say he played Arnav Singh Raizada to perfection. It was as if he was born to play Arnav. I thought that maybe it was the character of Arnav that was so beautifully written, and gave all credit to the writers more than to Barun. A writer can put his idea of a particular character on paper i guess. But it is the actor who actually breathes life into the character.

Exactly. The script has to be good. Real good. But there also has to be an equally good actor to justify the script.

And Barun is one such brilliant actor who is able to get into the skin of his characters. He made us believe that he WAS Arnav Singh Raizada and now he is making us believe that he definitely is Advay Singh Raizada. 👏

I feel so proud right now! And that guy has no idea that I even exist. Such an irony!

Chaverah you have rightly pointed out the differences between the two. Arnav and Advay are definitely two different characters and who so ever feels they are alike really needs to sit down and watch Barun's portrayal of the two carefully 😳.

I do have couple of points to add to your already elaborate analysis.

1) Arnav could sometimes get carried away by his emotions and do things that he never planned on doing. The almost Kiss on Diwali night 😳 is probably a good example along with the dance to Teri meri.

Advay on the other hand is in total control of his emotions. He is always aware of his actions and doesn't get swayed easily. It is as though everything he does or says is a part of the dangerous game he is playing with Chandini. ( the only downside to this i think is we as viewers still don't know for sure what his true feelings for Chandini are. Well i don't think he does either 😆 )

I'd say both and no. I think there are times he too gets carried away by Chandni. Remember when she fell unconscious? He was practically taking his fill of her. And that pushing the hair back? He does get carried away.

But..like yousaid, Advay is almost always in control and too damn tight a control of his emotions, yes.

2) Arnav was falling for Kushi from the word go and we as viewers could feel his anger, agony and frustration at himself for letting Kushi affect him the way she did.

Advay on the other hand is here on a mission. All we know is that he definitely hates Chandini as of now. Yes there are the glimpses of Dev we get to see now and again but then again since he is so much in control of himself that its hard to tell if he is only just acting sweetly or is actually affected by chandini

This is bang on.

But then again, we havent yet seen Advay falling in his own trap and falling for Chandni?

But yes, you are bang on.

3) Arnav was just plain rude and brash. He talked to his employees and staff rudely as times, mainly the HP/OP brothers always were the ones to face his wrath and of course Kushi too had to deal with a fair share of his temper when she worked for him.

Advay on the other hand is very good with his staff. Infact he has a confidante in both Murli and Shilpa. I think therefore he is a very good person at heart as he is able to treat those below him with respect.

Again both yes and no.

Arnav would burst only when he is defied.

Advay is more like yeah, a bit softer. Yes. You are right.

The only thing similar between the two is that they are both obsessed with the woman in their lives and hell ya we are loving it.

TBH i don't think that Advay is dangerous.

I know. I must agree with that.

I don't think he means to harm anyone, he only means to scare. He wants justice to be served and I am sure he will make the Vashishts confess to their crime in full public view. But his sexy MIL is one tough cookie so it will be fun to see the two lock horns.

Indeed. It'll be one hell of a confrontation and dayum, his MIL is sexy af!
