The previous IPK forum was so much more fun because there was a multitude of opinions on the characters. I'm pretty certain this forum is going to have a lot of different view points as well and pretty strong ones at that. Anyway I'm not really going to care about what others are going to say at any rate 😆

Chandni seems bland and a little too 'goodie two shoes' but then we haven't seen her side of the story at all yet so I'm going to let the story tellers establish her character a bit. Let see. 😆

Actually where have they even shown any thing from FL's perspective that you have concluded that Chandni is bland and "Ms.goodie two shoes". They haven't said anything in the promos. the only brief we have of her is that she suffers from anxiety disorder and is an acid victim survivor. As far as I have seen anyone who goes through a trauma(especially something like this) will never be bubbly happy go lucky goofball. They would be introvert and would be wary of strangers. So I think that is what the brief of the heroine is so far and that is what Shivani is portraying it so far. She is struggling with her past and is trying to look ahead.

And I think it is way too early to know what her character is going to be? Let's wait and watch what the character is going to be. Sometimes silent woman are more strong in real life.

@TM, i dont agree with your points!
If OTT funny FL is the reason for show success, then DBO should be topping the charts!

There are many elements for show to be hit like interesting story plot which attracts audience, good script, good direction, eye pleasing cinematography, ear pleasing BGM, intriguing strong characters, talented actors, good chemistry between all actors (not only leads)!

IPK had these things and it was hit!

if new season has these things, it will be hit too!

No need to compare any two shows! everything is different from others in its own way!

I think I agree with a lot of people here. Personally speaking, I have nothing against the PH, Barun or Shivani. I want to see a story. I don't really care if its not magical like IPK1, I just want to a beautiful story with character growth. With an acceptable style of writing and acceptable tracks. I don't need full on logic, but something enjoyable. Even if Chandni is OTT, I don't care, I care what she does and who she is as a person. How she defines herself and her relationships. Thats what is important to me. I apply the same to Advay.

I will reserve my critical judgments when I actually see more from both Advay and Chandni. I want to see who they are in this story before I judge them. I give this respect to every couple I am fond of, especially ArShi. Let's just wait and see where this story will take us, shall we?

I hate how girls who are silent and recovering/healing from their abusive past are judged like this, oh why isn't she bubbly. Not all girls are like that, just an entertainment clown dreamgirl for the guy. And goodie two shoes? What was it when Khushi became a doormat and forgave ASR too fast? 🥱

No need to put one character down to hype another.
Khushi maybe a clown towards the end. But IPK1 success is unparalleled because both characters were polar opposites. IPK1 had no redemption cos it would have diluted Arnav's character if they had tried. I still stand by the fact that it didn't need one. But thats just my pov.

Im not sure how chandni's subtle expressions will connect with the loud trp audience. And bubbly characters are pretty stale now cos its soo repetitive and it wouldn't have differentiated itself from IPK3. I hope the story delivers and Gul proves it with her actions aka story rather than dumb down FLs in her shows.

From the promos Chandni looks to be a calm composed and serene person
She is not the bubbly energetic happy go lucky type we had in the first season
The cause of that may be is she is an acid attack survivor and trying to forget the trauma
Advay is smart suave and quite different from Arnav ; he may also be manipulative here
If it will or will not match up to season 1 is as good as any one's guess
But we should give it a chance and watch it with an open mind then decide for ourselves

I am still struggling to understand the fuss about IPK name. It was used for IPK2 and no one had a trouble. As for Rabbavee... my goodness you guys should watch a couple of Ekta shows from past. The likes of Kasam Se and all which were miles bigger than IPK1 or any show TV now. Balaji had like 5 songs for a million shows and they kept reusing it all over. Luckily no online media or ppl whould have seen far more angry PH than Gul/4Lions 😆 .

And I totally get the love for IPK1..it was my fav show in college days. But honestly more than Khushi I watched it for ASR. Not that I didnt like Khushi. She was cute and Sanaya was brilliant actress who was more experienced than Barun and at times it showed. But unlike saas bahu soaps , IPK was loved by young girls more than grown up house wives who mostly watch for the super heroine like thulsi, parvathy or Ishitha. The X factor of IPK was Barun and ASR. The love story was awesome initially and Khushi was an amazing character who brought out the best of ASR.

But all being said once the couple got together, both character fell short. The lack of respect Arnav had for Khushi in spite of all the love, was no that charming to me. And the OTT thing Khushi used to do was ridiculous. Magical couple and all being there, these two were too floppy and mostly cheesy after second wedding. The show had ran out of anything. This is mostly what happens to romance show. Ideally they should have stopped it after second marriage or they should have been bold and let Arnav walk away from the wedding. I completely believe from that point on IPK lost its plot.

As for IPK3, the difference what you point out is what I believe is gonna make this show work. They are giving more dimension to the story... by having a heroine who is on her on terms a successful person... has a past she is struggling with... her calmness adds more layer to her story. And revenge for Advay... a ultra religious aristocratic family with a powerful lady head... and on top of it all a love hate story. So yah I am positive for this show so far. Expectations from Gul is also realistic. She will mess up sometimes but she will also give amazing scenes too. Its gonna be 50-50. Not going to be perfect show , but then neither was IPK1...

Chandni so far seems much better than Khushi to me but I won't call it a "fact". Just a nuisance that every girl should be bubbly like Khushi was.

And I don't care how much of an "unparalleled success" IPK1 was, fact is that it was like many other shows like Geet and etc. Run of the mill, mills and boons show. It's not such a big deal to show a bubbly chirpy lead, it's a cliche so it's a success. I watched IPK1 only for ASR, so I don't give a damn about other stuff.

And it's funny that you only targeted my comment rather than the ones that I was reacting to, the IPK1 fans who kept calling Chandni bland for not being bubbly as if all girls must be bubbly.

But okay, whatever floats your boat. I'm out.

I didnt call anything a fact. In fact i think its a classical case of counting the chicks before it hatches. What we have till date is only the character sketch of chaandni and she is described to be a person with anxiety disorder, acid victim, educated. But execution is something else. Gul till date hasnt ever proven herself so her tall claims have no backing YET.

Yeah you dont like Khushi so be it but dont disregard the character and writing as similar to other characters. The show wasnt a success only cos of Arnav.

I choose to comment on what and whom i want to. You dont get to dictate that for me. Peace

'bringing in ex costars, characters are strictly against forum rules. Please discuss IPK3 as its own entity and not in comparison. Thank you.

This forum is starting to look like a middle school classroom with no teacher or a class monitor. 😆

I don't understand why IPK1 and Khushi is being discussed repeatedly on a forum which has got nothing to do with either one of them, not to mention bringing in previous shows and co stars are strictly against forum rules.

We don't have a Mod yet. But that doesn't mean that members who are eager for this show to start should ruin the mood of this forum themselves. The show hasn't even started yet, for god's sake.

This show and this fandom comes with a lot of baggage. None of the members on this thread are unaware of it. Why make things worse?

Let's refrain from past comparisons of shows, actors and production houses, please.

Completely agree. I though some healthy comparison was good for interesting conversations. But ppl are too sensitive about both shows and actors. 😛 As long as things doesnt get to personal arguments I was all for it.
