Today my post may come under "rant" but I need to get this off my chest. Some may sneer at me and call me "mahila morcha log" but I don't care! To me entertainment is not about just going with the flow but it must be felt too.There has been lots of inconsistencies in Ishqbaaaz which we laugh or shrug off but sometimes somethings going overboard needs to be objected upon.I am just doing my bit,which my heart feels is correct.Many may disagree.To each her/his own.
Annika was objectified today and it was implied that she is on sale like a w***e. Does walking the ramp as a model equal to selling oneself?Should a woman always be judged and the man go scot free ?People/media questioned about her relationship with the cocky arrogant 🤬 "cricketer" just because she was walking the ramp with him and was apparantly"divorced".Does that imply divorced women are free for all and can be insulted anytime?
The idea that insulting a woman = insulting the woman's partner/husband/friend and is the easiest way to getting revenge is obnoxious. If this is nayi Soch and if this sorts of ideas are endorsed by a team predominantly comprising of women (producer+screenplay writer+ channel producer+stylist) then I must say it's disheartening.
Tomorrow SSO will come across and punch the guy for daring to challenge him by calling his "ex wife" a saleable commodity and we all will (including me) will cheer from the sidelines.
I cringed at the dialogue " Waise to Annika ki itni Aukaat nahi thi,lekin ab jab Viraj Solanki ne iska haath pakar liya hai toh iski bhi keemat badh gayi hain"
But, shouldn't we all take sometime time and genuinely think whether first degrading a woman publically and then becoming saintly by rescuing her is endorsable?
I was disappointed that Annika,my khirkitod woman was reduced to being a helpless delicate darling who did not give back? Where is that woman who earlier would have slapped and punched the man off the stage? She had dared to slap SSO once and now she just bears insults after insults without a word? Harneet and Co ---do you need to glorify a man by insulting a woman? Wouldn't it have been better if she stood up herself,slapped the man black and blue and roared that she is a woman who is just doing her job and minding her own business and that does not give any right to people to mock or judge her folllowed by the support of SSO who would then have roared that "Annika meri biwi hain! If anybody dares to insult her they have to first go through me.Whether we are married or divorced it does not justify the humiliation heaped on her.Our realtionship status is private.Jo kuch humare beech hain woh sirf humara hain.Sirf aur sirf humara.We don't need outsiders to comment."
That would have got a clap from me.
Note : A small request to those who respond to the post.Please be polite and be within the boundaries and rules of this forum.We may protest but in a dignified manner.We may disagree but lets agree to be within our limits.I wrote what I felt and have not intended to bash any character,real or fictional.Its just that the scenario presented today hurt my dignity as a woman.
