The moment he saw those pairs of socks in Gauri's hands , he was pushed into his past once again. He got reminded of the day when Buamaa announced that Gauri was pregnant.

"Shock would be an understatement to describe what he felt then. He was baffled , how could she be pregnant when they didn't even consummate. The happiness on each and every member's face was eating him up and that smile on Gauri's face was making his blood boil.

He was so overpowered by his misconceptions about her that he didn't believe her for a minute.

And when she'd shown him that the pregnancy test was positive , he was shocked out of his wits. She reminded him of what happened between them after he became unconscious. And for a moment he did think that she became pregnant because of him. But , before he could let those thoughts cover his mind , he dragged her out and insulted her in front of everyone saying that he doesn't believe that she was carrying his child. When he thinks about the incident now , he finds it difficult to believe that he managed to take out such disgusting words from his mouth. But at that time , his mind was filled with hatred , so much hatred that he was blinded. He did see rays of hope and positivity in Gauri , yes he did , but he chose to throw them out of his sight. He feared to believe in love and goodness again. He already had enough of it.

But then Buamaa didn't let her leave ...and even though he wanted to push her away , he couldn't. She was pregnant now , with his child. His child.

Those nights , lying on his bed , he used to look at Gauri sleeping on the couch. She looked so innocent , so pretty , so pure, and her face...seemed to glow even more. He was falling into the trap once again. And he didn't want that . He made a resolve of sending her away after she delivers the baby . But God had his own plans. Buamaa kept pushing him to take care of her. To stay by her. She used to explain him about being a good father , about the joy of having a baby in life . And gradually he became drawn towards her ; the mother of his unborn child.

He began caring for his child , for her. Unwantedly , every time he saw her , he saw his friend chulbul now. There was something that was making him think that she was good.

And the day he saw her getting soaked in the rain , crying her heart out , he felt a sharp sting of pain piercing his heart. He accused her , asked her to get out , and when she was about to leave , he got her pregnant , by forcing himself upon her. She deserved better than being a recipient of his hatred atleast now. After Jahnvi told him not to be a Tej in Gauri's life , he began to correct himself. And thought of giving her a chance . Giving his family a chance , for the betterment of the unborn child. Who would understand better what a child goes through when his parents live in a strained relationship.

But soon , his bubble of dreams blasted . Everything was fake ; Buamaa's concern , her love , Gauri's pregnancy and their child. It was all a good dream which ended up so bad.

He was heartbroken . Because he began to dream now. But , he didn't want her to leave. She lied , but it was for him . And he did see genuineness in her eyes in all those days . So he stopped her.

But , he never spoke about the baby again , the non existent child who made him see the spark of light when he was surrounded by darkness. Without even being there , it saved his life , it made him see some goodness in his mother. It was all an illusion , but indeed a beautiful one.

He was lost in thoughts , when Gauri hugged him again. Mumbling numerous sorries for the lie she'd told. She didn't realise that even though he was a little sad for the child not being there , he was happier about the fact that , it made him see what was right. Something that she couldn't do on her own.

If he'd been the Omkara who met Gauri first , he would have definitely lashed out on her. But that was just a phase of his life . That wasn't Omkara. Omkara always thought about the positivity lying behind any problem. He did think twice before jumping to conclusions.

And now , when the love of his life , Gaui had managed to pull him out of the darkness , how could he retreat to his alien self , a version which he himself fails to recognise.

Breaking from the hug , he places his palms on her neck , placing kisses on her cheeks and all over her face. Drinking away her tears , he looked into her eyes .

She was very surprised . She expected him to be angry over the matter, but he seemed to be so calm and his eyes reflected even more love now.

"Omkaraji.. ? Aap...

He placed his index finger over her lips. Tucking her hair behind her ears , he caressed her cheeks.

" Gauri , I LOVE YOU "

Saying that he kissed her forehead.

Gauri was bewildered and happy at the same time .

" So , you're not disappointed over that matter ? I lied to you right ? And you hate lies... she sniffed a sob.

"I'm not Gauri , why would I be ? Disappointed over something that gave me a hand when I was drowning in the swamp of disbelief and hatred ?

Gauri stood confused looking at his smiling face.

" I was lost Gauri . When you came in my life , I was a confused and scarred soul. Even if my heart said something was wrong , I wasn't interested in listening to it anymore. Too tired and weary. I know people looking at me would say that I was cruel , mad , unjust ... But I swear Gauri , I'd lost my power of differentiating. These everyday lies , fights , dramas , backstabbing , all of it was just engulfing me . Not that I'd not seen all this before , but the worse part was when my mom tried burning herself because of Svetlana and Mr Oberoi , he even supported Svetlana when she tried to frame me ... They literally killed me Gauri.

A lone tear escaped his eyes. Gauri wiped it for with her little fingers . Tiptoeing , she kissed his eyes and hugged him . Caressing his back when he spoke further.

" And I let that pain take over me in the form of a monster. I'd hurt you so much na. Numerous times I insulted you and left you for dealing with with Kaali alone , I called you names , I never listened to you , even forced upon you...I'm so sorry .

And he broke again. Slumped to the floor all the while Gauri hugging him , he was crying .

" Shh ssh...Omkaraji ,you don't have to explain yourselves anymore . I know what you did was out of hatred and misunderstandings. But I also know that you saved me the day I would have been killed. There was definitely something good inside your heart that made you save me inspite of all the names you called me with. I'm sure if any other person would have been there , he would have left me to be killed and would have enjoyed being a spectator. When the people I grew up with didn't believe me , who else can I expect from ? Yea you hated me , insulted me...but today your love for me rises above all those negative emotions Omkaraji...and if now ,you're not fussing over me lying to you , why should I bring in old issues?

"Gauri , I don't find a reason to make an issue about it. Moreover if you'd been pregnant then , I'd have loved you as the mother of my child. But today , I love you for what you are...and I wan't to be a recipient of that wonderful moment with all the happiness , not having doubts in my heart. And I also want you to enjoy that phase whole heartedly , with me being by your side forever.

"I Love You Omkaajiii...

"I love you too...

And they both embraced each other again.

After some time , both were sitting on the floor watching the moon.

Omkara was sitting with his legs stretched out while Gauri was sitting on his lap , her back touching his body and her head resting on his shoulders.His arms wrapped around her stomach.

"Omkaraji...

"Hmm...

"I'm still not happy that I had to make up a pregnancy story ...

He nuzzled in the valley of her neck and placed light feathery kisses . His hand sneaked into the slit of her kurta touching her bare skin now. Gauri gasped at his sudden action. Caressing her stomach , he whispered into her ears.

"Gauri , I told you na , I don't have issues...waise if you're sad about me not having a baby to play with , you can give it to me soon.

Gauri's cheeks reddened out of the excessive blushing. " So what do you think ? he whispered again. Turning back , she threw her arms around his neck and hugged him so tight , making them both fall on the floor.

" As you wish". she whispered into his ears while the moon enjoyed seeing the lovers lost in each other's embrace.
