Shes the girl that had it all, but watching her life fall apart around her was only the start of her ruin, running away to start again she meets a man who just wont leave her alone!
Can she ever give away her broken heart to a man she believes should not want her or will she run again?
Arriving in New York city would seem like a dream to the majority of people, but Gauri wasnt the majority of people and never would she be like them. Life had shown her the darkest of times, and running away to an unknown city full of people who lived in ways she didnt understand was the least of her worries.
Gauri stood up shakily from the park bench and walked towards the lake, her eyes burning from the unshed tears, she tugged tightly at her coat and looked up at the drops of snow falling from the sky. It was starting to get dark and the last thing she wanted was to be out in it.
She turned ever so slowly to the main road and walked towards it
A tall man tapped his fingers against the steering wheel, he looked down at his silver rolex, glimmering in the city lights and tutted at the time. Gauri stepped out into the road, he slammed down the breaks and jolted forward as he did.
Gauri slammed her hand down onto the bonnet of the car and looked through the front window at the man
He opened his car door, ignoring the shouting from behind him and stalked towards her
"S-s-sorry" she whispered, looking down, she flinched in fear at his anger
"Me to" he replied, his voice husky, his eyes hooded
She looked back up slowly and nodded, she lifted her hand from the bonnet, hissing as she did.
His soft fingers took a hold of her wrist, "Does it hurt"
She nodded, entranced in his gaze, his eyes a dark brown, hypnotising and alluring
"Get in, I will take you to the hospital"
She vehemently shook her head, getting in a car with a stranger was to dangerous
"Its okay, I will manage"
"Please, it would make me feel a lot better" he wasnt quite sure why he wanted her to get in the car so badly, he was Omkara Singh Oberoi and didnt have time for people who didnt pay heed to him the first time.
But, her melodic voice and soft caramel eyes pulled him in
"Okay" she walked around to the passenger side and sat in the car.
Omkara sat down, "seatbelt" he gestured, she frowned and shrugged
Omkara sighed, he leaned forward making Gauri suck in a deep breath at his proximity, his cologne was intoxicating
She released the breath she held in as he pulled back
He looked down at his watch again, then started the car
--------------------
"Are you sure she just needs wrist support" Omkara asked, eyeing Gauri who sat on the chair
"Honestly, im okay, but thank you"
Omkara nodded and thanked the doctor
"Ill drop you home, where do you live"
"Allen street" she replied as she stood up and followed him outside
He looked down at her as she walked beside him, she was short, very short infact, with long raven coloured hair that trailed down her back, pausing at her hips
His phone buzzed in his pocket, he stopped and pulled it out
"Hello"
"Hi Sir, you missed your meeting today"
Omkara rolled his eyes "I know that"
"Well, they are angry and dont want to meet you again"
Omkara gritted his teeth "Well tell them they can f**k" he paused as Gauri's eyes widened
"Just tell them I apologise"
He hung up quickly and smiled "Work"
She nodded like she understood
He traipsed forward, resting his largw hand on her lower back as they walked
Gauri looked up at his strong shoulders, his hand on her back filling her with warmth
He pulled open the car door and waited for her to sit inside
"Sorry I made you miss your meeting"
"Its alright"
Gauri bit into her bottom lip and looked out of the window as he started the car
It wasnt long before they arrived, Gauri turned to him "Thanks"
He nodded and pulled out his wallet "Heres my number, just incase you ever need someone to take you to hospital again" he winked
Her fingers brushed against his as she took the card "Is it that easy to see im new here"
He laughed, "Slightly, but dont worry, your secret is safe with me"
She smiled softly and got out of the car
It was only after she had walked away that he realised he hadnt even asked her name or got her number.
The ball was very much in her court and he hoped she would contact him soon
