Part 3 -The Conclusion
- Love Finds It's Way -
"Do you still think she doesn't love you, Shivaay? Om asked his brother.
"I can't believe what the three of you did! Shivaay said disappointed.
"This is it Bhaiya! You don't understand, just like your happiness is with her, hers is with you. Rudra spoke, "You only say right, mistakes happen, everyone commits mistakes. But one shouldn't run away from them. One should make things right. Then why are you running away?
"Rudra! scolded Shivaay's voice.
"He is right. Omkara said in seriousness. "We can't see you like...like this. Stop drowning in guilt. Stop. What you did was wrong! You accept it. Then why not go ahead and correct it.
"After the stunt you guys have pulled, she will only hate me more! said Shivaay.
"She doesn't hate you, Shivaay! She doesn't. " rang Om's voice.
"How could you Om? Shivaay asked in a small voice. "You never lied.
"I did, I agree my way was wrong but motive isn't. You both are mad. She loves you. You love her. After years, still, the love is there. I had to, I can't let you both be stupid. Can't let you be idiots and destroy not just yours but each other's lives. You know how it is to live with deep regret? I do. Even today, I feel the pain, if only if only I had told Gauri once, that I loved her, she would be alive, she wouldn't have left that day. " Omkara's eyes turned moist.
Shivaay-"Om...Om... he held his brother's hand. "I ...I know how it feels. I wish I was not so foolish that day, I had little amount of brain. I still can't get myself one with the fact that I ...I insulted her in front of everyone...I said those words to her...I ...I...rejected her love...I broke her heart...I am very bad, Om, very bad, I don't deserve her. And on what basis? Just because I ...I though she din't match my standards? Shivaay cried. "I don't match her. I don't deserve her...I don't deserve to be loved! He broke into sobs.
"Shut up Shivaay! Om spoke crying. "You might be punishing yourself by doing this. But what you don't realise is, you are punishing her. She still loves you. She was devastated when she thought it was you there lying lifeless.
"No. Om. No.This is not right! You guys shouldn't have done this. You shouldn't have. " Shivaay spoke annoyed. "Haven't I given her enough pain, that you all...
"Bhai, Omkara and Rudra are not wrong. " spoke Mahi, his twin brother. "We did that so that we could make the two of you realise that...that...time is kind to none. But you are lucky, time has brought you both together again, not everyone gets second chances, you both have, don't let it go, don't let her go!
"Mahi, how could you? " Shivaay said losing it.
He was disappointed at his three brothers, for the stunt that they pulled in front of Anika, had left him in pain and disappointment.
"How could you three! Usse kuch ho jata toh! he cried his heart's fear out.
"hua toh nahi naa! came a woman's voice. The four of them turned to find Anika standing outside the room's door where she was sleeping, after the doctor had left. She had fainted due to shock. The doctor had given medicines due to which she was sleeping. The four men hadn't realised that Anika had been standing there for a while listening to them.
"Anika! he whispered. His eyes reflecting pain, regret, sorrow, concern and love.
She looked at those blue sapphires. His eyes never lied!
"Enough she said, before any of his brothers could speak, raising her palm. Her eyes din't move from him.
"Anika, I m...Im sorry. They shouldn't have...
A slap landed on his cheek. The sound resounded in his ears. His eyes were moist. The trio looked at each other and slipped out. The two needed to talk!
"How could you Shivaay? she spat tears rolling down her cheeks.
"I ...I din't know really, I wouldn't have let them if I... he explained. His heart burning.
She pulled his collar, What's you problem Shivaay? She looked at him with pleading eyes.
"Why ? Why? she screamed resting her forehead on his chest.
He closed his eyes, she was hurt but he felt the pain.
"Am I so undeserving Shivaay? she asked in a small voice looking up at him. "I don't deserve your love? her eyes were screaming of her longing to be loved by him.
He cupped her face, his thumb wiping her tears, "I am the undeserving one Anika! I don't deserve you! He cried holding her palms.
"Shivaay... she said sniffing.
"I have hated myself every day, every damn day. For saying those words to you. I rejected you but I had strangled my heart to listen to my ego, to my pride...and I have died every minute after that. I had ruthlessly killed something that was so tender so..delicate...so beautiful! He grief reflected in her eyes.
He wished her eyes lied, but they din't!
"I m sorry Anika. I m sorry... he held her close and cried. The pain, regret, grief he had bottled up in his heart for ears, was overflowing today.
"I hate you! she said wiping her tears. "I hate you very much!
He looked down, not meeting her eyes. "I deserve every bit of it.
"No . You Don't " she said in a crisp voice.
"I hate you, because no matter how much and how long I have tried I can't get myself to hate you!
"Tum bahut acchi ho Anika!
"Aap bahut bure hain SHivaay! She smiled making a grumpy face.
"Rona band karo! he said wiping her tears. Those tears that seemed to be flowing since evr.
"Kaise karoon? She asked honestly. " I thought everything was over!
"I apologise for what my brothers...
"Don't! she said. "They opened my eyes. They are not idiots like you. She giggled in her cries.
"I am...I am...an idiot. He smiled amidst tears.
"A big one! she added. He nodded in agreement.
"And I am still in love with this idiot.
He smiled wider than ever now.
"This idiot has loved you since ever!
"I know! she whispered.
They stared at each other, tears streaming down their cheeks. He pulled her closer and she hugged him. The pain she had felt hours back was unbeatable. She might have pretended to herself that she was that woman who would avenge herself, break him. But, the truth couldn't be twisted. She loved him! She loved him back then, she loved him all these years, and she would always love him. No matter how big an ego head he had been in the past or how big an idiot he was now, to push her away from him.
A knock made them break apart.
Om, Rudra and Mahi entered with serious faces. "We are sorry! Mahi spoke for the three of them.
"Don't be ! Anika said smiling.
"You guys made me realise who I am, who I was meant to be She turned to Shivaay at the second half of her sentence.
"Does it mean...we are all set for a wedding in the family finally? Rudra asked excitedly.
Shivaay smiled, slipping his hand into Anika's.
"He hasn't asked me yet! Anika pulled back her hand and crossed her arms looking away.
"Kya Bhaiya! the trio looked at Shivaay irritated.
"Aye. You guys just interrupted. I was going to. He explained.
"Thank God! whispered Omkara in relief.
Before Anika knew he was in his knees before her, holding her hand.
"I know I have been a jerk. I know I am an idiot. I know I am not the best match perhaps...But I have always loved you and only you Anika...are you willing to forgive me for everything I did in the past and ... will you Marry Me Anika?
Tears flowing once again she looked at him with love. Nodding she made him rise. "I will! He kissed her forehead and pulled her for a hug. Her head resting close to his heart, listening to every beat which was hers. The others clapped.
"Great, we have work to do! Rudra declared excitedly. Anika smiled.
"Guys, Wedding in the house! Let's start the preparations. Rudra pulled Mahi out excitedly.
Just when Om was about to leave the couple and follow Mahi and Rudra's trail. He was stopped by Shivaay's voice.
He turned to the couple.
"Thank You! The couple said in unison.
Om smiled with moist eyes, gulping hard. He finally spoke-
"Ishq Intehaan Leta Hai Zaroor,
Thode Aasoon Thoda Dard Deta Hai Zaroor,
Ibaadat Samaj Kar Karte Rehena Isse,
Zindagi Ko Mukammal Yeh Karta Hai, Huzoor!
Smiling he turned to leave. Those droplets he had held in his eyes, fell off. He looked up, as he walked. She was right, Thoda saa jhooth kisi ki zindagi sawaar skata hai!
If only he had believed in those words back then.
Shivaay looked at Anika as Om disappeared. She looked back at him. They both understood the value of what they had! Just looks were enough to talk.
Because, eyes never lie.
Their eyes were enough to say,
I Love You..
