She pulled her hands in air and it landed on his cheeks. She slapped him hard... Hard enough to prove her annoyance. Gauri Omkara Singh Oberoi would never have slapped him. Instead she would have given in with a joy that he was actually paying attention but who was standing here was Gauri Kumari Sharma. A girl who was broken into pieces by her own love. The girl who never received what she wanted, instead was given only either ignorance or a harsh attitude by everyone in her life except her mother. If it was the old Gauri she would have readily agreed to walk with him, but what to do of that broken pieces which still had the capacity to shred blood from her. What to do of the emotions which were crushed once. How to answer her mind about joining his life back.
"G..get out of here... You don't have the right to do that to me she said firmly. Omkara rubbed his cheeks as he averted his eyes from her. It took him some seconds to respond. Omkara anyway didn't expected a slap from her. He already had committed many mistakes but she never slapped him. "I am sor...sorry he said which sounded unfamiliar to the others he said to her. "You are saying sorry again... Do you even count how many times you said sorries? You think what ever happened would be scrapped out with mere sorries? She said. "For two years now I have learned to live alone... I have learned to cry without anyone's shoulder. I have learned to live my life on my own. I have learned that I am better off your lives. So now tell me what is the use of this drama? This persuance?
"I am here to make things right between us. I am here to win your heart again the statement was huge. She crossed her arms around her chest "I am no more that childish Gauri who easily believed you in whatever you said. Who just did what you commanded her to do. The road to my heart is rugged,filled with lots of thorns and obstacles. You will never be able to reach the finish line. I promise you that. He didn't answered back, trying to find words. "So since you are not answering... I think I should leave she turned to leave.
Amazing isn't it. He promises to love me but couldn't even stand my words... Couldn't even answer me or call me and he thinks he can take me back...'
Then his voice stopped her "Gauri maa...maaji her heart swelled. Who is he talking about? Maaji.. His maaji? Her maa? What happened to her? Maa? "Maa.. she said in a low voice. "Yes, she visited the Mansion and she wants to see you. She wants to meet you and everyone told her that we were on a holiday he answered. "She is fine right? she asked. "Yes, she is fine she released her breath relaxing.
So here it was. He was not here to take her back because he loved her. Instead he wanted to take her back because if her mother knows about them than the Great Oberoi's will loose their ego. He was here because if she didn't turn up maybe her mother would tell everyone about her gone missing and the Oberoi's will go down in front of everyone.
But still her mother was there and that was what she could never get off her mind. Since past two years she had been lying to her about leaving the mansion and she knew that if she told the truth then it might lead to a worst result possible. She was not ready to sacrifice her mother for her self respect because her mother was the only one she could say that cared about her since the beginning. How could she leave the lady who held her since she was born. How could she not keep her above everything in her life.
She was still there in her thoughts when he embraced her patting her head "let's go Gauri... Maa intezaar kar rahi hongi he said in a soft voice which irritated her even more. She never thought that he would be doing all this to her just because her mother visited suddenly. His eyes seemed genuine and yes if he didn't tell her she might have agreed and melted as she did before.
It was because of The Oberoi's' private jet that they reached Mumbai earlier that evening. The ride to the mansion was calm because she didn't wanted to even speak a word. She didn't wanted to listen to him and again those acting techniques that he played. Though she lost herself once but not this time. Once her mother goes, she too will return back and anyway she had to because she had her studies and her life back in Manali and coming here was mere a formality.
They reached the mansion as the gates opened when Omkara pressed his password to the lock. It won't be surprising to say that she still remembers the lock code of hers because that was the last thing she did before she went away for two years. And here she is, back to the mansion, because of her mother entering again.
"Arey Gauri tu aa gayi Annika said as she came near them. "Chulbul bhabhi is back Rudra came dancing. "Welcome bhabhi Bhavya chirped. "Meri choti behen Ka swaagat hai Shivaay entered. Every one was there when she stepped in. "Maa.. she ran out to her mother embracing her tightly. "Humne tumhe bohot yaad kiya she said softly. "Humne bhi chirraiya her mother hugged her back. "Gauri, apne sasuraal walon se toh mil lo, itne dino baad aayi ho her mother broke the hug. "Mil length maa, sabse mil lenge. Pehle Tu chal aur aaram kar she went inside the room with her mother leaving the whole family.
"Kitni badtameez ho gayi hai yeh ladki... She doesn't even care to talk to us Dadiji said. "As if you cared to talk to her, as if you cared to watch her. Maa aapne hi bataya tha naa ki bade jaisa karte hain bachche wahi apnate hain. Toh phir Gauri toh bilkul sahi kar rahi hai Tej stepped in her defence. "Tej mind your tongue Dadiji said angrily. "What was wrong in what he said maaji. If you didn't cared about her in these years how could you expect her to care about you Pinky spoke this time.
"You know what maa, she was there in Manali, God knows how and where and when she arrives here you are again back to your daily antics... Tej said in a sarcastic voice. "Look, now my own son is fighting with me for her Dadiji said. "No, I am talking about my daughter now. I am defending my daughter who came here on our responsibility and was here because she trusted us Tej spoke. "I agree to jethji this time. I have seen her crying and now who I see is not actually our chirpy Gauri. It seems as if she has lost herself Pinky turned to Omkara.
"I tried to talk to her about us choti maa but she is not ready. She still doesn't wants to listen... I don't know how to bring her back Omkara held her face down. "It's okay... Now that she is here we will try our best to bring our own Gauri back Shivaay held Omkara's shoulders and the other two nodded. "It's your responsibility son to heal her wounds... Try till you don't succeed... You are an Oberoi and Oberoi's never quit Tej said.
Gauri went to her mother's room as she gave her the medicine and tucked her to bed. She opened a letter and read it

It's always hard to deal with injuries mentally but I like to think about it as a new beginning. No one can change what happened but focus needs to go towards healing and coming back stronger than before
