So this is something I was planning for, since I saw the recent track... But the idea was given by arunsunita_gm to me for writing this... I hope you all like it.
SHORT ONE
She entered the room with a headache and sore legs. It's been three days since she is working continuously for Rudra's wedding. Jhanvi has given her all the responsibilities because Annika was already busy proving Shivaay that She actually was Annika. Though she has worked hard in her life than anyone else in this mansion, but she had never thought that one day she also will be witnessing the pain of not only her aching body but also of being ignored.
Since the day they have returned to the mansion from the Shivika Mansion' everybody seems to be only ignoring her like plague. No one doesn't even wants to hear her. Though she too was happy that her bade bhaiya and bhaujayee are back in the mansion but the things have changed.
"Gauri, where is my ice water? Omkara entered the room in his night clothes. "It's in the kitchen, please could you... before she could complete "you know that I can't sleep without that... Get me ice water his tone seemed sleepish. She sighed and got up from the bed to get him his ice water.
She walked to the kitchen feeling pain in her legs. When she heard someone fighting. "I can't believe that you are Annika... You can't be that... You can't be Annika Shivaay shouted. "Bade bhaiya, she is our bhaujayee... Look at her... Believe me she said entering the kitchen. "Oh... Gauri... When did you came? Shivaay faked a shocked expression which didn't went unnoticed by her. "Omkaraji needed ice water she answered. "But bhaiya believe me she is Annika bhaujayee she said. "Gauri, go to your room. It's night, Omkara must be waiting for his ice water Annika spoke from behind. She only followed what she said and went into her room with ice water.
She was greeted with her husband soundlessly sleeping on the bed holding his pillow cuddling to it. She smiled seeing it. She went to his side and carefully placed the glass and the jug in the side table and went on the other side of the bed. She held the duvet and covered herself when she noticed that he had taken the whole blanket to himself.
She tried to lift the duvet but didn't had any energy left to do it. She left the blanket to him and tried to sleep. The weather in Mumbai, generally was warm but God knows why today the temperature was low. She was shivering due to cold as she tried to cover herself with her dupatta. Sleep was far away due to a tremble in her inner body. Though she had many such nights in Bareilly where the atmosphere was cold, but she never felt this because she always hugged her mother while sleeping.
"I miss you maa she said as she said trying to cuddle herself on the bed.
Mornings were never too easy for her since the day Shivaay and Annika went to vanvaas. Even though she slept late struggling through the cold weather in Mumbai; she had to get up and arrange for the morning Puja. She went up seeing her husband facing his back towards her as he was still sleeping.
She left the bed and went for her morning chores. She opened her cupboard only to find her old dresses though washed nicely, placed there. As usual she took out her yellow kurta and a dupatta. She went into the washroom to take a bath and came out trembling. She ignored the trembles in her body and walked to the Puja room. She always cleaned it herself because Daadiji liked it that way. Dadiji never liked anything happening in her Puja room which she didn't wanted.
Though no one attended the morning Puja still it was a ritual in the house as Dadiji vowed in front of God to do it everyday after Shivaay and Annika returned. And now Gauri had to complete it every morning because Dadiji was old to do this. She had to mop the floor and make flower garlands everyday in order to complete the Puja. Besides this she also had to make breakfast for the family and give Dadiji her morning medicines.
After she was done in the kitchen, she went into her room to wake him up. "Omkaraji get up, it's late now she slowly tapped his hand. "Get up otherwise you will be late she did it once more. Omkara moved her hand as it landed on the glass and the glass fell on a folder. "Oh shit he got up from the bed and took the folder in his hands "are you crazy? Gauri I am not a kid that you have to wake me up every day. You know how important this file is? he shouted. "I... I am sorry she felt a lump in her throat. "Sorry... What sorry? You should have kept an eye. Where are you living? he again shouted. She controlled her tears hard.
Not to her surprise, Omkara did what was expected from him. He left the room banging the door shut behind her.She has promised herself to not to cry. But these tears were insane. They always came out of her eyes, no matter how much she tried.
"Gauri, where are you? Shivaay is already shouting because he is late. Come on serve the breakfast Annika came in the room. Gauri immediately wiped her tears and turned to her "just coming bhaujayee she said dragging her feet out of the room.
She served the breakfast to everyone and took Omkara's to his study. "Your breakfast she said entering. "I don't want to eat, leave it and go he didn't even looked at her. "Omkaraji, I am sorry. But please eat. You are angry with me... Not the food she said placing the tray on the table. "I am really tired of your behaviour Gauri. Don't you have any work beside constantly nagging me? he said. "Omkaraji, I just came with the breakfast. You should it, it is important she said. "I told you to keep it here and go he said.
"Om, we had to talk to you about something Shivaay entered the room with Annika and Rudra. "Haan, Shivaay bol he stood up and walked to them. "Omkara, we have to talk to you Annika said signalling towards Gauri. "Sure bhabhi. Aaah... Gauri, leave the breakfast here and go. I will eat it he said turning his head to her. "But Omkaraji... he cuts her off "I said I will eat it he glared at her. And as usual without any questions she moved out of the room.
She walked out of the room as she was greeted by Pinky. Since Shivaay and Annika have returned, Pinky seems to have understood and accepted both the girls as her daughter-in-laws. "The breakfast was delicious she said smiling. It was Pinky,s daily routine now to tell appreciate Gauri on her efforts. The only person who made her realise that she was a part of the house was this lady. "Thank you choti maaji she returned the smile.
She retired to her room to take a nap. She slept on the bed and held the duvet over her as he realised that she was shivering. "Gauri, I... Pinky came to her as she held the cover over her head. "Gauri, bachcha... Eise sark e upar kambal nahi odhte she slowly pulled the duvet down realising that Gauri was shivering. "Bachcha, you have fever she said. Immediately she took out the thermometer from the first aid box kept in the side drawer and placed it in Gauri's mouth. "It's 104 degrees she noticed. "It's okay choti maaji. I am fine Gauri said in a cracked voice. "What fine? Sit I will bring you the medicines she waked up to other drawer and took out the medicines before giving it to Gauri.
"Gauri, Hasan ki tayyari karni hain. Kaha Ho tum? Dadiji shouted. "Coming Dadiji Gauri immediately went off the bed, took the medicine and left the room. "Gauri, this Havan is specially for Annika's safe return.. So take care that everything happens properly Dadiji informed her. "Ji Daadiji she answered and started preparing for hawan. "Panditji if you need something else than please tell me she said to the priest. "No, beta. Just call everyone he told her.
She ran to every room to call people for the puja. In the end she walked in her room to call Omkara. "Omkaraji, the hawan is going to start in some time. The priest has called every one down she said looking at the ground. Without saying anything he walked past her and moved to the hall.
The hawan ended in almost an hour. The priest blessed everyone in the end, except Gauri who was busy in making the Prasad. Till the time she arrived, the priest was already gone. "Panditji kahan hain? she asked Dadiji. "Who toh chale Gaye Dadiji answered. "But Dadiji I didn't received the blessings she said. "But Omkara did and anyways the Puja was for my Bahu and she received the blessings Dadiji said.
The puja was for her Bahu, then what was she? Was she just a maid who had to do all the chores and leave at the end? Or was she just kept in the house so that the Oberoi's could enjoy properly?
"Gauri... Gauri Omkara called her. "Bring my bag, I am leaving with Shivaay, Rudra and Annika bhabhi he said. "But where and when will you come she asked. "Stop interrupting in between my work Gauri. Don't be so intruding he answered. "I was just... Before she could complete "Oh leave it... I will myself take the bag he went away, leaving her alone.
