True, the merge was unavoidable, but I still hated it.

Honestly speaking, I never had any expectations with either show and stopped analyzing the characters because after a certain point all daily soaps are sacrificed at the TRP altar, but I wanted to be entertained. I didn't find a single episode entertaining after the merge. That's not a slight on the cast or any of the characters, but that's just how I felt. I never expected quality writing and gave up any development for the females, but the show should be entertaining. That's why we watch, right? To be entertained.

I agree the focus has always been Shivika with a lot of villains/ vamps thrown into the mix. I gave up on any development for any of the FLs after the grey FL turned into the Bela/Mala nonsense then Anika and Saumya's development was completely ignored. However, I'm not sure why it's so difficult to development Omru's characters. Even in DBO when there was no Shivika neither was explored or developed. At one point, the writers completely wrote off Rudra from both shows then he returned with a rushed love story. I'm not sure if this lack of development stems from losing their original leads or the writers are just lazy. I don't care about SS, but even with a two-minute scene a character can be developed. The issue for me is lack of development for all the characters and none of the characters entertain me anymore. Again, this is not a slight on any of the actors or actresses.

To play devil's advocate, Shivika has been comprised as well during the merge to make Omru's love story on equally footing. All 3 couples were at various stages in their relationship, but for some reason CVS forced them all into one box and Shivika suffered. Shivika's confession was rushed to get to Gauri's rescue and Om's confession in Bareilly. After 400+ episodes and waiting for Shivaay's confession it was thrown at us and then onto the next track. Shivika's SR became a family project and used for comedy gags. I understand others might feel like this is normal in joint families to tease each other or discuss these things openly, but I disagree. I found Omru, Gauri, and Bhavya actively participating in planning Shivika's SR weird. It made me extremely uncomfortable. On top of that, CGI tiger was ordered online for another group comedy scene. Most recently, the vanvaa track build-up about Shivaay's letting go of his NKK and building his own empire was forsaken when Omru, Gauri, and Bhavya came to Goa. After all the emotional buildup of the separation, but then all the couples were dancing in the garden alone with no guests.

Completely agree with you about the OBros. I have always preferred everyone minded their own business like in the past. The family would interact in normal and non-cringey ways in the past then go about their business. The assembly line, handholding, and hugs all started after the merge. I'm not sure how dressing like each other and switching personalities is supposed to prepare Rudra for marriage 😆

I feel like the writers even ruined the OBro bond with the saturation of the unnecessary "bonding and girls vs boys silliness. In the past, they discussed issues and had different personalities, but after the merge the spark is dulled. All they do is romance in unison, dance, and hug each other. The merge would have been a perfect opportunity to create bonds and show everyone's love story, but it's unfortunate it didn't happen. I feel like no character benefited from the merge. I'm tolerating all of them right now instead of rooting for them like I used to.

I agree with most of what you've said, in fact, we are saying the same things. 😆 We both were annoyed at couples shipping each other.

But I don't like what you are trying to imply. Devil's advocate or not, your manner of re-phrasing the same thing that I've said in my comment to suit your fandom POV is pretty apparent. 😆

I can give a detailed reply to the Devil's advocate debate, but I don't want to upset Shivika fans unnecessarily. This is a civilized forum, and no one likes to read trash about their fav couple. I respect that.

Its okay bro, all fandoms want the same thing, their couple to be given a semblance of proper storyline. There I've said it. There is no need to resort to subterfuge. 😆

For me like I mentioned on this thread twice, and I've mentioned many times before, the female characters and the BrOTPs matter the most. The merger did give me few things like ShivRi/AniRi or something like Gauri's amazing stance during the break up, but it was too late. Even now stupid makers have not started the AniRi track, and I've already stopped watching the show. Too late to care.

I just want this stupid show to end, and everyone to come to their senses.

Tomorrow Shivika fans might watch a serial which features Shrenu/Kunal, and Rikara fans might watch a serial which features Nakuul/Surbhi. And we all may like it, and then we'll realize how stupid we've been in the last one year. 😆

This deserves applauds! 👏

Well said, and I totally agree!! While, I do have a lot to say on the matter I choose to stay mum...

But Thank You for giving the facts and providing insight on what the actual problems are!! Well done!

Very frankly it was recently. The Vanvas track was the last straw. When I saw someone peeping from the room above just as they arrived at their place in Goa, I was like, "Vanvas my foot! this is going to be another track of psycho-baaz or bhoot-baaz'.
I threw in the towel that day

Well it's a damn show and we are not the writer of the show. It's highly unlikely we will love everything about it. Even though I am watching the show from the day 1, I did not like so many things about it. Be it story line, character development and growth or certain decision taken by the creative team. We all do loose interest on everything at one point or another. Not a big deal I guess. And the fact is that we all are equally responsible for the current state of IB. More than the past and current tracks, I started to lose my interest due to the amount of negativity and hatred I gotta see on the social media platform each and everyday 🤢 🤢 🤢. It's beyond my understanding . I am still watching but the day I am done with my obsession completely, I will prefer a dignified exit rather than spreading unnecessary negativity

This might be the only thing we agree on.

I don't think we're saying the same thing because I don't think any couple, character, or story benefited from the merge. While some scenes were cute I prefer character development over the cute bonding. We do agree on the group factor being annoying.

I'm not implying anything I'm stating my opinions of the matter. My fandom's POV? Which fandom are you referring to? I ship everyone Shivika, Rikara, Rumya, Omru,ShivKara,ShivRu, AniRi, AniRu, Tejvi, Tejlana, and Tinky. I'm not sure why I'm put into a category for sharing my views about any subject. I do honestly feel like the merge butchered all the characters. I had expectations so I was disappointed. Naturally, I didn't enjoy it.

You don't need to give me a list I have a list of my own grievance about Omru's treatment. You can browse my comments going back all the way to the DBO forum. I'm confused where did I bash or trash anyone? By pointing out the disadvantages the merge had for me? Not liking the merge doesn't mean I don't like Omru,Gauri, or Bhavya. I feel like the writers ruined all the characters and the show has been stagnant for months now.

I'm honestly not sure why everyone mentions the actors and actresses to me? Do my comments seem like I dislike the cast? Because that's not the case. I have come to terms with the horrible writing, but I watched IB and DBO for the cast alone. I'm still here because I adore the cast.

@bold. Not me, I want a decent story and development for all the characters especially the FLs that have been neglected since the inception of the shows.I do love the Obros, but I wanted something other than the childish girl gang for the FLs. I want Anika,Gauri, Saumya, or Bhavya to be more than glorified showpieces (or vamps) around for romance only. I want the FLs to have a life and discussions that aren't framed around the men in their life. I want to see the villains and nonsensical tracks taking up months of the show to disappear. I want the random jumps from track from track to stop. I want the Senior Oberois sins to be exposed to the world and see ShivOmRu deal with the ramifications. There is so much potential with each couple and character, but I'm no longer hoping to see it.

My intentions wasn't meant to hurt or trash anyone. I just really didn't find the show entertaining after the merge. To each his own.
