Gauri are you ready? The Groom just arrived!" Richa , Gauri's Childhood friend , ran into the room to take a Look at her Best friend.
Gauri looked in the mirror once more, The burgundy red saree was beautifully wrapped around her petit Form, her jewellery heavy, the veil covering her Hair, the mehndi darker than she had expected. Today was her wedding day yet no Smile adorned her lips. Seeing herself decked up as a bride, she tried hard fighting her Tears. How to explain to them that by getting married to him she would lose herself? That the Love she thought they had never existed? That this was a Farce?
Gauri? Kya Hua? Are you feeling shy about the Wedding night? Don't worry I bet Jiju will be a Gentleman. " Richa said and chuckled to herself; not seeing the emotional State that Gauri was in.
How could Gauri tell her Friend that she dreaded that wedding, his arrival? How could she tell her that the Man they all adored was a dark soul who intended to break her?
Looking at her Mehndi Gauri stood up and tried to calm her breathing. His Name was beautifully written and slightly hidden in the palm of her right hand right next to her thumb.
The same place he had kissed so many times before showing his true colours.
Omkara." Gauri read out loud softly and sighed. He was going to be her downfall.
Today was the day their Fate had been sealed and Gauri prayed to God to give her strength.

Present Day( 2 Years Later)
Gauri? What are you thinking about?"
With a thud Gauri landed in the present and looked at Arjun her Co Worker in the Fashion house in which she has been working as a designer and tailor the past 3 years.
Just thought about the past. Anyways tell me what are your plans for the Weekend?"
She asked to buy some time. Immediately Arjun started talking and Gauri had the chance to get lost in her own World once more.
2 years have passed since her Marriage, she thought and looked at her Wedding ring. A constant reminder that her Live was a disaster, a nightmare she won't be able to escape.
How could she? She loved him but living in pain was no solution. Back then she had thought her Prince had come to sweep her off her feet but sadly she found the beast, who would never let her go. Breaking her each and every day.
And you? Any Plans for your Marriage Anniversary with your Husband? You have to introduce him to me once , I mean we have been friends for two years and I still haven't met him yet alone heard a thing about him except from his Name. What does he do for a living?"
He is an Artist and a very private Person but I promise you will meet him soon. We are launching a new collection right? So he promised to show up." Gauri tried to say cheerfully while think about her upcoming wedding anniversary. Why should she celebrate the worst day of her life?
What good would that do? He would mock her, insult her and leave her devastated as always. Why she still was with him? She didn't know. Maybe because of the love he once gave her until he suddenly stopped. Without any explanation nothing and she had tried her best to fight him? to find out what happened but he never slipped. Always in control. Never showing her his true self...
Until that one Night... that one Night he was her Old Omkara, the one Night they had been their old selves, husband and wife, just two people in love. The way he had looked at her with so much Love was always scaring. Even in their short Courtship had he never looked at her that way. In that instant she felt loved, loved by the man who owned her heart.
She knew back then she shouldn't t has given in, into the desire, into the ache but she had hoped that maybe he would be himself again, that after being that close to each other he would stop being cruel. The Night still lingered in her mind, his touch still felt on her skin. Gauri sighed. How could someone forget a Night like that?
The way he had whispered her Name against her skin, his finger skilfully getting rid of her cloth, his lips creating havoc in her body. How could anyone forget that?
Gauri? Can you come look at the new designs and maybe add something to it?"
Her Boss Vikram said and gestured her to follow him. She stood up and bid goodbye to Arjun. He smiled at her and went back to work himself. HE knew that Gauri was keeping something from him but he was patient. She would open up soon.
Following Vikram he took Gauri's Hands in his and looked at her with a sad expression.
"Are you ok?" he asked concerned and looked at his little cousin who was like a sister to him. No one knew about their family relationship; not even Omkara. It was easier that Way, else everyone on work would think he was favouring her because of their relationship and not because she deserved it. Gauri was one of the most talented Designers he had met in his life.
"No... but I will be. Don't worry I have nothing left to give him...He took every last part of me..." she said and Finally allowed herself to cry.
Vikram hugged her tight and caressed her Hair. He knew that Gauri was suffering but she never told him how and why but seeing her die a little bit every day was too much for him. Once he had almost gone to her House to get her out of their but was stopped by her. Her Face had been red from all the crying and she had refused to let him in.
He remembered her words like they were yesterday:
Gauri let's go! He is out of town let's leave before he comes back." he tried pulling her with him but she didn't move.
I can't she had whispered and fell on her knees.
Why? Why do you stay with him Gauri, he is the reason for your misery. In the last two Years has there ever been a Day in which you have been happy?"
Because I love him, No Matter What. He loves me I now that and that is why I can't leave him...maybe someday but how can you leave your Home? He is my Home, I don't know what happened to him but I can't give up now. Won't he come back to me someday? He is my Om, my sweet and caring Om...He just got lost..."
Vikram pulled her to himself and she cried against his chest.
She had hope. That was her strength but he knew that something was amiss.
The Omkara they knew had never been like that, the day Vikram meet him he was proud to call him a friend and Gauri's to be Husband, but now? He hoped he would suffer and realize that by his behaviour he would lose the one person that loved him.
"Vikram? "Gauri shook him slightly and He came out of his thoughts. He wiped away her tears and kissed her forehead before pulling her into another hug. Gauri smiled lightly and hugged him back. Vikram had always been by her side, the brother she never had but being her family she didn't care that he was just her cousin, in her eyes he was more.
"Please don't lose yourself in the Quest of getting him back Gauri. Maybe the Man we once knew is gone? Do you know what happened that he changed that much? Vikram needed to know, what changed the once loving, caring Personality of the sensitive Artist Omkara Singh Oberoi. His Art changed together with him.
"I promise I will find out what happened to the Man I love. Till then I have to stay strong so please support me in this... As long as I have the strength to go on...The day I decided to leave I will tell you first. She said and pulled out of the hug. He nodded and they went on with their Work.
Gauri badly needed the distraction because her shift was over in 30 mins and he would be waiting for her in the parking lot. As always.
Taking her bag, she checked her appearance in the Mirror one more time and reapplied some lipstick, a dark red, Omkara's favourite colour on her.
She prepared herself mentally for the upcoming pain and walked towards his car. He didn't look at her when she sat down beside him, but she knew he was effected by her; his fingers tighten on the wheel.
"How was your day? She softly asked; knowing he wouldn't bother to answer. As excepted he kept quiet while they drove back home and Gauri turned her face away; suddenly feeling very nauseous.
She closed her eyes and opened the windows a little bit. The fresh air helped.
The Car came to a halt and she felt his fingers on her forehead. She looked at him with a sad expression and just for a second something in his eyes broke; she couldn't point her finger on in but he hid something from her, something that kept him from loving her.
"Are you sick? He asked with his husky voice; sending shivers down her spine. The voice reminded her of the rainy night he had whispered all those sweet nothings into her ear. Blushing involuntarily, she tried to look away but he got hold of her Chin; making her look at him.
"What? He asked curiously and then he saw her blush and he knew exactly what she was thinking about. Immediately he pulled her closer to himself.
"Let me go! Gauri said panicking; his proximity was dangerous she knew that now. Whenever he touched her she lost herself in the desire he created. And he didn't deserve her in that way, not until she finds out what is wrong with him.
"Why? You are my Wife... Omkara said carefully studying her face.
Gauri closed her eyes and a lonely tear fell on her cheek. His wife, yes. But if she was his as much as he was hers , why did they have to suffer?
"I am nothing to you...Stop faking your concern and Let's keep going...
Hearing her Words, he became rigid and was about to say something but Gauri turned away from him; now crying silently. No matter what he would say to her now it wouldn't help or change anything. She was tired of fighting.
"Please...No more Lies just drive...Please. Hearing the pain in her voice he tried his best to hide his own pain. It was for her own good, he thought. He had to keep her safe even if that meant not being with her the way he wanted to.
But knowing that she was hurting didn't help. He closed his eyes for a few minutes and realized that she had dozed off. Typical Gauri, he thought.
Why was Life that cruel? Why was he in a situation like that? With no escape, no solution. Omkara looked at the Woman that owned his Heart.
"I wish It could be different...You have no Idea how much I love you....but I can't.... Not now not ever. I lost control once...He whispered and caressed her face. He too remembered the one Night he had given in, the one night he had been the man she fell in love with. That Night was the only Memory he refused to forget, the only things worth living for.
How could he forget?
|Flashback|
Gauri was standing by the Balcony of their Bedroom, the soft Night breeze caressing her hair as she smiled into the night; her eyes closed. The sound of the Rain was soothing. She had always enjoyed the silence of the Night, it was comforting.
"You will get a cold...He said and she felt him cover her with a blanket.
"Would you take care of me? In sickness and in health? She said with a brave smile, the last few days he had been more caring than ever. It had made her braver to challenge him, to question him.
"You know the answer Mrs. Omkara Singh Oberoi. His eyes kept hers looked and Gauri almost didn't feel his fingers; intertwining with hers.
She looked at their Hands and stepped closer to him, hearing him sigh she saw he had closed his eyes, enjoying her touch.
"Om? Gauri stepped even closer to him; her Hands finding their way into his long beautiful Hair while Omkara was a bit surprised by the way she had said his name. Ever since their Wedding she had stopped calling him Om but referred to him as Omkara or when she wanted to hurt him Mr. Oberoi.
"Gauri? He asked back and saw all the love she possessed for him in her eyes. And that was his mistake. Her eyes had always been his weakness.
With a groan he pulled her into a soul eating kiss. His lips nibbling and biting her lips till she gave him much needed excess. His Hands grabbing her by her waist; pulling her as close to him as possible. Omkara knew he had to stopped but hearing her Moan his Name, feeling her warm and soft body against his he forgot everything that had happened and everything he had kept from her to protect her and just enjoyed the Moment with his wife. Gauri couldn't believe that he finally let his Guards down and that was what let herself feel brave enough to lead him back into their Bedroom.
She parted from him just for a second to get rid of her Blouse, his eyes watching her every step. The blouse slowly came undone and fell down on the floor. She stood in front of him in der Black pencil skirt and her Bra, waiting for him to take what was rightfully his.
Omkara knew that if he didn't stop now he would do something he would later regret before he could say something she laid down on the bed and pulled him with her. He fell on top of her and sighed feeling her against him. Gauri kissed him shyly and cupped his face in her Hands.
"Just Tonight...Can you be my Om? Can we forget whatever is wrong with us and be together? Please.... I need you Om...I always have and I know you need me too, I know you love me but something is stopping you...so just for tonight forget everything and be with me...She whispered and closed her eyes. And Om knew he wouldn't stop tonight no matter what. After all the pain he had given her, how could he refuse her the one thing he had kept thinking about all the time?
Without saying anything he kissed her once more and got rid of his shirt, feeling his naked chest against her was overwhelming. He felt the warm of her body and sighed , as his lips found her neck. Biting her and then soothing the pain with a flick of his tongue. Gauri grabbed his Hair and closed her eyes, she felt too many things at once while his Hands and Mouth played with her senses. He was the artist and she was his canvas, painting them with the colour of their Desire, their Love.
"Don't Let Me Go Gauri whispered and Om looked into her eyes.
How could he not Love her? How could he not protect her from his cruel world? She was so innocent and pure and if he had been smart he would have let her go, would have never married her but he was selfish. No one else could have her, no one else was allowed to be this close to her.
"I won't. He said and soon they was nothing between them, no barrier nothing. Realizing what was about to happen, what she was about to give to him, Gauri stopped unsure. Was is smart to give him the rights of a husband, despite his behaviour? Despite his coldness? Before she could think he kissed her and entered her slowly. She flinched; her body trying to adjust to the sudden invasion and he stilled for a second.
"Open your Eyes Gauri...His words died in her Mouth and she looked at him.
He started to move and with each thrust Gauri got lost in the pleasure.
Her nails scrapped his Back and growled in appreciation.
Soon they both found their climax and Omkara fell flat onto her.
Gauri tried hard to calm her heart but it wouldn't listen.
She felt his lips on her breast and for the first in a very long Time her Husband smiled at her.
Hearing someone honk on him Omkara woke up from his memory and finally resumed to drive them Home. When they reached their Mansion Gauri was still asleep , so with a heavy heart he lifted her and carried her towards their Bedroom. Her warm breath was tickling him through the few open buttons on his shirt and he fought his desire, as always. He had to.
"Om..? A tired whisper in the darkness of their Bedroom. He laid her down carefully and Gauri slightly opened her eyes. Her Fingers were unconsciously still holding onto his jacket and he was pulled towards her.
"Om. She said with a faint smile; believing she was dreaming.
"Meri Gauri, Sirf Meri Gauri. Omkara said and kissed her softly; before Gauri happily drifted back into her peaceful slumber.
He knew she wouldn't remember that Moment, she never did but that was Okay. As long as he was alive these stolen Moments would remain in his heart; soothing the wound he had inflicted on himself.
Walking out of the Bedroom he turned around on more Time.
"I love you, I really do...Omkara Singh Oberoi said almost inaudible and left the room with a lonely tear sliding down his face.
