I feel like Anika's personality was sacrificed somewhere to make time for Shivaay's growth, which makes sense since he had more issues he needed to shed. TRPs seemed to have a played a huge role in the stagnation in her development because she has to be the perfect biwi, behen, and bahu for the TRP audience to root for her. Sad, but harsh reality is TRP have butchered so many characters on the show at one point or another. However, I do appreciate the childlike reverence in regards to Shivaay because I wouldn't exactly call it worship. To me, she seems like a child wanting to belong, to be loved, to be appreciated, but is too afraid to even hope for it. SC does an amazing job with this aspect of her personality. Anika still has her identity because of this childlike innocence. I would love to see her strengths being highlighted and not her insecurities in the future tracks.
Sadly, I think the writers dropped the ball with all the female characters development and growth. Jhavni enables all of Tej's evil actions and forgives him instantly. We have seen what happened to the insecure, but kind at heart Pinky. Daadi has no say in her family and often disregarded by her own sons. Anika seems to either be biwi #1 saving Shivaay from vamps or sad over her randomly brought up insecurities. Gauri hero worshiped Om and using internet doesn't make her independent. I was really looking forward to ACP Bhavya, but her profession literally revolved around Rudra and him being the hero to save her. So yeah, everything always goes back to the ML. Don't get me wrong, I love the brothers, but these woman have no other life than these men, which is disappointing to watch at times. I have zero expectations, but I hope your right and Anika gets her chance to showcase her side of the story, her struggles, and her growth. I really hope the same of the other FLs as well.

Nope😆 even if they work...it is a plot device to bring them in the line of sight for the heroes. I can quote examples here but that will get the post banned and wouldn't want to do that to Anisa. 😃😆

Word to everything you said...especially bold. The writers have set up this limited framework where everything revolves around the hot and happening Oberoi brothers...I love them but they do preen around a little too much for their own good. 😆I think a major factor is that all the heroines are orphans...so we don't get to see them in other roles and relationships, except Sahil and Gauri's mom I guess. It limits the scope in many ways. Also the fact that the scope of Indian TV itself is quite limited when it comes to showing women working. Just doesn't bode well for TRP.😆I do like how Anika distinguishes herself in this limited framework though. I think she has managed to retain her individual traits and that for me is commendable.

from the segment, i didnt hear SSO say 'sorry'... it was more about how SSO was explaining things to Annika... Even SC didnt say SSO was apologising, she said SSO was explaining things to her😳is there anything wrong if a husband explains things MUed by a wife?insecurities occur in everyone, under-confidence or inferiority complexes can be built by our own perseverance, while i feel insecurities usually comes from things which a 3rd person triggered by his actions..insecurities unfortunately majorly are cleared from talking things out, not bottling it inside and saying it will get better.this is one important phase in any relationship to tackle with small ricidulous reasons which when left alone can cause great explosion laterfor me Annika is quite relatable right now with her innocent fears.the only time i was really disappointed with Annika was during the forced wedding track, the reception episode when SSO announced Tia as his wife, that was only when Annika should have walked out...another point raised by you is quite controversial a bit, i thought the whole concept of housewife/working lady was subject to own's choice. Annika has worked her whole childhood and her whole life like a slave actually till she married SSO. genuinely she can do something she wants if she wants, but saying just because she's a housewife this means Annika isnt relatable is a bit wrong.i dont generally talk about other characters, but given you said Bhavya and Gauri in this. well just being an ACP doesnt make one sassy and the CVs failed there a lot in Bhavya's characterisation.Likewise Gauri learning english was made a mockery by the CVs- this is my POVfor me Annika will always be 'work in progress' and i want her to always remain 'work in progress' because no1 is perfect ever and the whole beauty of a character is when she's 'work in progress'

@bold sums it all up! every female character is sacrificed - look at bhavya dressed up and all celebrating diwali when technically she is just his security. if she can be part of lfazoon ka rishta song, why cant khanna be there 🤣so yes, female character ki toh vaattt lagayi hai khud ek female writer ne. anika forgets about her nightmares, as per convenience she starts having them again - so many inconsistencies and so many issues along the way 😆but yes, anika is still extremely charming as a character and i do enjoy her child like feeling of belonging to shivaay but i do want to see some focus on her - i guess we are all saying the same thing in diff ways!anyways, good discussion guys 👏

Honestly, I didn't have any expectations from the show, but I'm still disappointed. I want better for all the characters especially all the FLs.@bold My thoughts exactly. She never had the time or opportunity to focus on herself so why not now? However, I think we might be expecting a bit too much here😆

The reality of the show is that it started out as a story of 3 brothers overcoming their issues and FLs are just plot devices for the story! All of Gul Khan's shows are male character oriented...However, Annika has had more layers and depth than the other FLs in the show and I will 👏 for that! They have explored her more than the other female characters of the show or any of Gul Khan's female characters thus far and there is more scope for character progression with the upcoming tracks as well so I will learn to be ok with that! She has managed to stand out and that is remarkable!
