Nice post but I'd like to add that Anika has been at the receiving end of media many times. They have attacked her character many times only for Shivaay to defend her. It's happened so many times that I can't even count. They've attacked her background and accused her of having an affair with Daksh and also getting in the way of Tia and Shivaay and who knows what else.

Just recently the media aired what horrible things Sundari Bua had to say about Anika and asked Shivaay whether he didn't know his wife's background only for Shivaay to turn around and defend Anika and propose to her. The only reason it stopped is because Shivaay always put them straight. I'm sure even during the ep where he said to everyone that Anika is his wife that they were attacking her only for Shivaay to stop them and say Anika is his wife and speak about the importance of her in his life. So Anika is always attacked really on everything they can find and it only stops in person because of Shivaay and him not allowing it.

What can I say about obsession of Indian people for English education and the western culture? Its like they think anyone from village is uneducated and backward. For them having education means learning English.I remember my grandparents were not English educated but extremely smart knew exactly how to live their lives and take care of their health ,how to eat healthy and how to respect people for who they are without being .judgmental .To be honest the more we are into western education the more we are away from everything that's precious in our life like stress, health, sleep etc..to name a few.I really want and hope people understand that learning western education is not education having a healthy understanding of how to live in a society is education. So Please star plus stop with your thankq nonsense. To be honest I give up on the tv soaps worst thing ever happened to people. So to all the actors, actresses, producers, directors please wake up and understand what you are doing to yourselves and others in the name of entertainment

Its comforting to know that I'm not the only one who is bothered by this character butchering.

Some people still feel that this education track is for Gauri's self-growth.

Guys, open your eyes. I am in favor of Gauri being educated BUT FOR HERSELF.

I HATE the idea of Gauri being educated to fit into Omkara's life or to be accepted by him. That is classic character butchering, both of a FL, and of Gauri's basic trait as someone who does not impose on relationships.

I cannot make others accept my point of view, but I have some more to say on this matter. (Clearly one rant was not enough 😆) But don't worry, this rant is on my blog. If you guys are vella, and want to torture yourself, then you're most welcome to check out this post.

@ Bold: I totally agree with that! Basically everything you said actually. She's hiding her lessons from Omkara which makes it seem like she's doing it for him. And as for your tumblr rant, you're right. Gauri was always proud of her accomplishments and never let her lack of English bother her. Maybe Shivaay is the one forcing her to go because he's her bade bhaiya but he's also Omkara's brother and feels like it's his responsibility to fix things, hence she's going along with it. But the whole I-can't-do-it thing doesn't sound like her. She's always been sure of herself.

The way I see it, Omkara cares for Gauri but is unable to say it, which upsets Gauri. I would love for there to be a scene where Omkara is proud of Gauri for learning English and then Gauri clarifying that she did it for herself. Except for the fact that the whole track implies that she's doing it for him 🤔 Buttt to prevent further character assassination, they can have her say how she took those lessons for her bade bhaiya, not Omkara. And that maybe at first she felt that she should learn English because she didn't want to embarrass Omkara again but then realised that she didn't want to change herself just to fit into his world. She never meant to impose herself on him and will continue to be just a bahu. And that her learning English doesn't change the fact that she's Gauri Kumar Sarma, from Bareily, and will remain so. And that she learned the language for herself.

I feel like something can be done to fix this. Just not sure if we'll get to see it

I really don't understand why people make a big deal when a wife decides to do something to please her husband or vice versa.Whats wrong with it? of course I don't support this English education nonsense .When a wife does something for husband it's called love and respect for husband it's not that wife is losing self respect. On the other hand when a partner does things only to please themselves some people may call it independent etc nonsense but I will call them self absorbed .
