Part 3
Anika shut her eyes. What the hell was she thinking? Now instead of fretting over how to get down, she had to wonder what he'd do. You put these clauses for Sahil, your brother to emotionally blackmail him! Not your ex-husband.
She bit her lip to keep herself from crying when he started walking again. It was only when she felt the softness of the bed under her that she opened her eyes to find herself laying on the bed and Shivaay sitting beside her, his face buried in his hands.
"Shivaay?" Anika softly called out making him look at her. He smiled at her softly. Anika quickly sat up straight, wrapping her arms around him.
"Anika, can I please know what happened that you did what you did all those weeks ago?"
Anika stiffened and Shivaat sighed. Turning towards her, he took her hands in his. "I don't know what happened and I am so sorry I lost my calm at that time. I can't believe I actually didn't think of what must be happening to make you take such a drastic step. Now it's completely your choice Anika. You can tell me if you want or you can not tell methem if you want. All I know is I want you back in my life, anyhow."
Anika stared at Shivaay with a small smile. "Who are you and what have done with me control-freak Billuji?"
Shivaay chuckled. "I have no idea." Anika shifted a bit towards him, and hugged him tightly. "Shivaay, I know you have all rights to know why I did all of that and why I left you when you and the family meant the world to me. Trust me, if it had been anything else, I would have shared it you in a blink of they eye but somehow, I can't bring myself to tell you this." Shivaay nodded, resting his chin on her head. He rubbed his hand along her back, still thinking what was it that had Anika so lost.
Pulling away, he cupped her face. "Now in all this, we are missing out on something very important."
"What?" Anika creased her forehead in confusion.
"About what you said before I put you down on the bed?" Shivaay smiled at.
Shivaay looked on as colour rise to Anika's face gradually, along with the smile that kept growing on her face.
"Probably the most weird way of confessing where you have me at a gun-point or something but Anika, all I know is I am very much in love with you, however weird and downright horrendous that sounds."
Anika chuckled amidst her tears, hitting his arm lightly. She then wrapped her arms around his neck and hugged him tightly. Shivaay wounded an arm around her waist and pulled her up on his lap.
"Anika?" He softly called out making her pull away. "Will you marry this Stupid Singh Oberoi who is somehow in love with you? Will you give me another chance and make sure I trust you all the time? Will you promise to throw water on me whenever I make some mistake? And most importantly, do you promise that you will not walk away from us, whatever life-threatening situation it is?" Shivaay looked at her hopefully.
Anika stared at him. This man had done so much for her, had even moulded himself so much. Could she ever deny this little thing that he was asking of her? She kissed his palms that still held her face.
"Shivaay, I..."
He looked at her expectantly. Anika was ready to reply in positive when she was reminded of why all of this had happened in the first place. What happens when Pinky decides to tell Shivaay the truth?
Anika took a deep breath in. She was about to promise him to not walk away, so she would do just that.
"Shivaay, I promise I am never going to walk away from us, I am never going to give up on us, whatever may be the situation. I will fight for us and I will always be by your side." Anika blinked at him in assurance.
"And how do we seal this deal?" Shivaay asked, a mischievous smile playing on his face.
"Like this," Anika moved towards him, pressing her lips against his.
Anika could swear this was the best thing happening to her. After meeting Shivaay. And becoming friends with him. And getting married to him, whatever had been the circumstances. Basically after everything 'Shivaay' happened to her.
Pulling away, Anika smiled widely at him.
"And why are you so happy?" Shivaay wriggled his eyebrows.
Anika fell into deep thought. "Exactly! I should be sad my mini relax-vacay gets over now." She frowned and Shivaay raised his eyebrows.
"Well, I'll show you what a 'mini relax-vacay' is." Shivaay grinned.
"Really? How will you do that?" Anika asked, already anticipating an answer.
"Well, let us get married ASAP, then we'll fly off to our vacation, okay? I'll teach you very nicely. I am known to be a perfect professor." Shivaay smirked and Anika chuckled, trying to fight off the blush.
They were brought out of this bubble when there was a knock on the door.
"Shivaay? Anika? Are you guys alive?" Mallika shouted from the other side.
"Yeah Mallika. Thankfully you won't have the police department lounging around your house anytime soon." Shivaay replied making Anika roll her eyes.
"Well, Rudra is on the phone and he wants to know how successful Shivaay is in trying to bring Rudra's Bhabhi back." Mallika asked.
"Tell him to plan a mini rela-" Anika put her hand on his mouth, whispering 'shut up!'
"Well, tell him I am ready to play the video game tonight." Anika spoke and Shivaay beamed.
Then, Anika watched with confusion as Shivaay's smile fell. "I thought you'll spend your time with me!"
Anika chuckled. "You have your Saira Bano, your Khannaji and of course, that Nagini. Why do you need me Billuji?"
"Oh please Anika, I even got engaged to her just because I wanted to get some reaction out of you and you know that." Shivaay frowned.
"Plus, nobody was happy with out marriage, except Mom." Shivaay mumbled. He saw Anika's smile falter a bit before she was back to grinning widely.
"Well, if you want to monopolize my time, you'll have to work for it."
Instead of answering, Shivaay started putting pieces in place.
"Anika?"
"Umm-hmm?"
"Does Mom have anything to do with you leaving the family?"
Anika froze, her smile wearing off.
"Shivaay why are we talking about it? Please let's just let it be."
Shivaay nodded negatively. "I promised to give you space but right now I need you to truthfully deny to men because Anika, my string of thoughts is-"
"Shivaay, I'll tell you, calm down." Anika rubbed her thumb pad against his cheek in an attempt to soothe him.
"I can't bring myself to tell you the whole thing but yes, Pinky Aunty was not happy with you in my life and her fear was understandable. I am not the perfect wife for you, Shivaay."
Shivaay numbed and stared at her blankly. "So you decide what is good for me and what is not?"
"Shivaay it's not like that..."
"Anika, exactly. It's not like that. The fact is I am not good enough for you and I do not deserve you because I failed to see through your drama that day."
"Shivaay, no!" Anika shook her head.
When Shivaay didn't reply, Anika hugged him tightly, mumbling swret nothings into his ears.
Shivaay pulled away. "Okay fine, you don't tell me. Do that when you feel like itit. Just come with me now. This time, nobody is tearing us apart. I can't live without you, however selfish do I sound right now." Saying so, Shivaay took her in for another kiss.

Shivaay and Anika walked out of that room only to have Mallika pouncing on them. "Thank God! I thought you guys were gonna play dirty in that very room."
Anika turned red while Shivaay scratched the back of his neck awkwardly. "I'll prefer my bedroom."
Anika looked at him in shock while Mallika waspouncing clearly amused. "Men change after marriage and if this is not the most positive representation of that line, I really don't know what is."
Shivaay chuckled. "Well, all thanks to your friend who is clearly more important than you best friend."
"Hey, it's not my fault. She helped me, I helped her. The Bhagodi Dulhan connection." Mallika shrugged. "Yeah, and Anika, Rudra also mentioned that he is upset you didn't contact him."
"Well, he knew I'll be hiding for a few days. Couldn't expect me to give Stupid Oberoi the biggest possible clue!"
"Wait a minute! Rudra knew you ran away?"
Anika's eyes widened as she realised what she had landed into. "Everyone knew, didn't they." Anika tried chuckling.
"No, you meant that Rudra knew before you ran away."
Anika sighed. Well, she would take down her fellow martyrs as well.
"Gauri helped me jump down the window. When I did, OmRu were already standing there. They were shocked because they were planning to kidnap me. Then they helped me get to my old house. I packed my clothes and thought of the one place you wouldn't find me. Which you did anyway but that hardly matters, does it? Yeah, so all three of them helped me." Anika smiled. "Team Anika has four members, while Team Shivaay has none."
"No." Mallika interrupted. "I am on Team Shivaay."
Anika looked at her in shock.
"Actually, before you label me as a traitor, let me get this straight. You guysare are the only ones on your own teams. The rest of us are in Team ShivIka, as Rudra christened you."
Before Anika could say anything, Shivaay interrupted. "I am going to cut short on all the pleasantaries. Thank you Mallika for having her over here and taking care of her and aldo calling me. You are invited to our wedding, whenever that is, along with your husband and family. Thank you!"
Anika narrowed her eyes at him but before she could say anything, he picked her up in bridal style and walked towards the door not caring about how Mallika snapped a picture of theirs, sharing it with everyone else on Team ShivIka.
