Gauri Kumari Sharma never had it easy in her life. Her dreams were never fulfilled,infact after the age of 10 she never looked forward for anything,only thanked her Shankarji for being able to live each day until he happened to her.
The day she met him was the day her world turned upside down. She didn't intend to follow him when he himself left her. He would have become another unfulfilled dream of her but destiny had other plans for her and she became his best friend but only in disguise,that had lead her to this point in her life where she loved him like crazy despite knowing that he would never reciprocate those feelings. Until now she had a little hope but now even the hope was crushed.
And it didn't help her a bit that she had to take part in the Shivika wedding. Don't get her wrong she loved her rakhi brother to bits and was even happy for her bhaujai but that didn't make it any less painful to witness something that she could never have or never be part of.
Bade bhaiyya might have persuaded her to stay till his wedding and assured her that everything will be alright but she knew it that nothing would be because Omkara might agree to their relationship but not of love or friendship or trust but because of guilt and pity and that was the last thing she wanted.
With all these thoughts heavy in her mind she was busy stringing flowers for decoration oblivious to the fact that a certain long haired creature was busy looking at her, observing every single move of hers and could even sense the longing of her heart by the way she was looking at Shivaay and Anika sitting and talking in the corner .
Gauri who was so lost didn't notice that the needle had pricked her until her jatadhari had come running to her and had put her finger in his mouth that simple gesture was enough to send electricity jolting through her entire body. She immediately removed her finger from his mouth.
He didn't leave her hand. "Gauri be careful ! What were you thinking?" he admonished her, she didn't answer . Her gaze went to her hand where his finger was searching her hand for a ring. They looked at each other and an understanding passed.
She removed her hand immediately,getting up she answered- "A ring is a mark of forever relationship. You know why it is a circle, because it signifies infinity. It signifies that love has neither end nor beginning. But when there is nothing like that. I didn't want to disrespect a ritual so beautiful by wearing it. So I removed it. I guess you shouldn't be bothered because you never cared. That's why even you didn't wear it." And she left.
Leaving behind a dazed and hurt Omkara who was now looking at his own ring finger and rubbing it.
