Part Five

Annika had looked at him shocked as if she had recalled some bad dream and rushed away from him soon after he had kissed her.

"Annika kya hua?, he called after her.

She tried to lock him out of the room but he pushed his way through.

Her billuji was stubborn as he was strong.

She had recalled him kicking her out of Oberoi Mansion.

"Kyun laye mujhe yahaan? You kicked me out of the house, then how can we be like this here?, she stammered as he approached her.

" I am sorry Annika there was a misunderstanding, Mom told you I was illegitimate, son of my father. That isn't true. Mahi may be my brother, but we are both her sons not Kamini's, he declared.

"Kya, Pinky Aunty yeh saab kyun bola muhjse? Vaise I don't care whose son you are. Naam, khoon and khandan matter to you. Maybe I didn't want you to get hurt, so I didn't tell you. But why would I get myself kicked out of the house for that? Did I really care for you that much but then again I saved you that other time with that Gayatri murder case, she muttered.

He reached out to hold her hands.

" You will remember other things perhaps. You may want to leave me. Just remember the decision is yours. Lekin ek baat yaad rakna. Agar tum nahin, toh aur koi nahin. You are the only woman I want as my wife Annika, he declared.

She felt tears forming in her eyes. She embraced him with all her might. He held her close and soothed her as she cried, his hands cascading down her nape and back.

She kneeled on the ground overwhelmed on the ground. Shivaay held her face and kneeled down and kissed her forehead. Sometime later, he had picked her up in his arms. He laid her gently on the king sized bed. He tucked her in before joining her on the other side.

He gave her some space and watched her sleep until he could fall asleep himself.

Shivaay had given some space to Annika the next day as well. She wandered around the house. They had been here for over a day and she still didn't know what city or even if they were in India still or not.

She reached the drawing room and stopped short at a potriat that was covered with a long curtain. She looked for the opening. When it flung open she saw it was of her and Shivaay. It was of them sitting on the stairs of Oberoi Mansion.

There was some function in the house. Her phone was missing for a moment. She had dropped it earlier. Dadi approached her about some arrangements. While she searched and talked with Dadi, the damage had already been done.

Someone had already utilized her phone to send the video of Rudra and Saumya's drunken marriage.

They blamed her for it. But Shivaay and his brothers knew Annika would never harm Rudra and Saumya.

Shivaay had taken her side and together they worked to find the culprit.

She ran her hand in her hair. She laughed. She used to imitate her husband like this when she was planning his wedding with another woman. Not everything had been perfect, but together they could become close to it. Lots of things had changed. She didn't know if she would ever get her memories back, but she knew Shivaay was the guy for her.

Even if they had misunderstandings, he still gave her more than he had taken from her.

It was much later, she had lost track of time. She wondered if Shivaay had eaten. She went into the kitchen. She knew he was fond of Western food, especially pasta. This much she should know from dealing with his tantrums and his methods to delay his so called wedding. She was surprised to find food cooked. It was somewhat warm. She found a tray and set his sairabano, pasta and some water and took it to the den.

It was only place he could be if not their bedroom since she had looked everywhere else. There he sat busy working away at his laptop.

He immediately took off ear piece and turned to look at her with his blue orbs.

"Yeh leji khana kah lo, she said.

" Tuhme kaise pata ki maine khaya ki nahin?, he asked.

She smiled.

"Agar khaya hota toh itna para hota, she said showing the logic sign Rudra had taught her.

He chuckled slightly.

" Davai liye aapne ne?, she asked.

He froze trying to recall.

She handed over his medication box and the glass of water.

"Relax and take your medications. Mujhe pata hai ki aap inke bina nahin re sakte, she stated.

" You assumed I was crazy at one point, he said.

Annika was lost in thought and then a memory came to her and she was frantically asking Rudra on the phone about his medications.

Seeing her turn pale, he touched her shoulder.

"Tum theek ho?, he asked.

" Woh kuch yaad ara tha. Aap ko heart ki problem haina? Coffee aap ke liye theek hai na?, she asked.

"Yes doctor said once a day is ok. Vaise I had a check up before we came here. Everything is fine, he assured her.

She nodded.

"Pasta accha bana, tuhme chaiye. Tumhne kuch khaya hai ki nahin. Annika what about your medications?, he asked.

She shook her head.

"Annika the doctor wants you to take them to control your headaches, he stated.

"Lekin Shivaay mujhe unse neend aati hai, she complained.

"Annika tum aapna khayal kabhie nahin rakti. You wait here, he ordered.

She groaned.

He brought another plate for her and medicatons.

She made faces at him each time he tried to give her pills.

Finally she swallowed them.

He fed her a bite.

"Now this is yummy, she said,

"It's the only kind you will eat. It's pesto, he stated.

She reached over and offered him a bite.

It was the first time in a long time they shared such a moment.

She was feeling drowsy and nearly fell into his lap. She tried to usher away, but he held her close to himself.

"Humari shaadi kaise hogi thi? Meri saagi toh Daksh se huyi thi na?, she muttered before she dosed off.

Shivaay nudged her a bit.

" Annika..

He realized the medications had knocked her out completely. Would she recall the truth of their marriage?

He picked her up in his arms and carried her to their bedroom. He had carried her before, but this time he held her gingerly as if she would sleep away when she awakened.

He decided not to overwhelm her. In due time she would recall and he would spend the rest of his life making it up to her, if it took all that.
