This is so cool. I am not India per say either. I am of Indian origin. My great great grandparents were from India. I was born and brought up in Fiji.
My Dad is Malayalam and Mom is Tamil...I used to be able to speak a bit but since moving to Canada, it's all gone.
Never set my foot in India...would like to one day to see where my ancestors are from.
