Part Seven- Conditions

"Bolo tumari kaunse shartein hain," Omkara urged.

Gauri smiled and scooted closer to her sister.

"Aap meri didi ko khush rakein nahin toh..,"

"Toh kya kargi?," Anika teased.

" I won't let him keep you. He needs to keep you happy, take care of you and let me visit anytime I want or let you come here to Bareily," Gauri insisted.

Shivaay smiled.

" To my lovely honewali saali, I will always take care of your didi. Mere liye woh already itni important hai," Shivaay said as he reached out for Anika's hand.

Anika blushed.

"Aur kuch bolna hai Gauri ?," Omkara whispered

" Haan, didi shouldn't have to do all the housework. Jiju should cook every now and then too," Gauri declared.

Omkara laughed. Gauri didn't know they were the Oberois.

" No worries, Gauri in our family even the boys know how to cook," he assured her.

Gauri became curious and the two of them started chatting away about recipes.

Anika smiled at Shivaay.

"Could I have my hand back please?," she teased.

He released her hand. A feeling of emptiness came over him. He pulled her in for a hug.

He pulled back and looked at her solemnly.

"Tum theek ho na?," he asked.

She nodded.

"These are minor injuries. I am just glad Gauri theek hai. Agar hum yahan nahin ate Daksh se pelhe phir kya hota?," Anika said worriedly.

Shivaay grew alarmed. How had Daksh found Gauri so easily and why the same day they had come to Bareily?

"Uss Daksh ka kuch karna padega. He kidnapped you last week and now he was planning to take Gauri and make you trade yourself in to save her. Why is he after you girls? Kuch toh hai. We need to find this out soon," Shivaay said.

"Uska jalebi banenye padegi," Anika muttered.

" Hmm," Shivaay said lost in thought.

"Kya hua Shivaay kahan khoye ho?," Anika asked.

"Mujhe koi kaam yaad agaya. Tum yahaan ruko," he stated as he started to leave.

"Lekin Shivaay yahaan aap ka kounsa kam hogaya?," Anika pondered.

Shivaay signaled Omkara to step aside with him.

" Stay with the girls and uncle and aunty. I have something to take care of . I will be back soon ok?"

"Shivaay you are sure it's ok for me to stay here? Maybe I should go with you," Omkara stated.

Shivaay knew why Omkara was concerned. They weren't from Bareliy. There could be unknown enemies here.

" Trust me Om. Stay here, I will be back soon. I need to settle some scores," Shivaay declared.

Sometime later..

Shivaay nodded to man as he entered the darkened room.

A figure was tied to a chair before his presence. Shivaay smirked at him and stood firmly glaring at him.

" Kidnapping my wife again, not a good move Daksh Khurana," Shivaay declared.

He indicated for one of his men to take off the duct tape from Daksh's mouth.

" Woh teri biwi nahin hai," Daksh scoffed.

" Marriage registration sign ho chukka hai," Shivaay retorted.

" Lol. Anika would not marry you that easily. You are lying to get me mad. You want to know why I am doing this. I want Anika to be mine," Daksh stated.

Shivaay laughed at him.

" By the time you get out of here, Anika and I will be married," Shivaay teased.

"Aisa nahin hoga. I will steal her away before your wedding ," Daksh sneered.

Shivaay turned stern.

He gazed at his watch and looked at Daksh with an amused expression.

" Anika Bajaj, Anika Shivaay Oberoi legally ban jayegi kuch dino mein," Shivaay declared.

"Nahin TD Bajaj ki wealth aur Anika dono mere honge. Phir main Anika ko mar dunga!," Daksh blurted out.

Shivaay smiled.

He ran his hand through his hair and smiled.

Daksh was about to change what he meant when Shivaay indicated for his men to gag him again.

" Enjoy your stay Mr. Khurana. I would invite you to the wedding but those who intend to harm Anika are not inivited."

Shivaay turned to one of the men as he left.

" On the day of the wedding, he is to be handed to the police," Shivaay declared.

The man nodded with understanding.

Shivaay went to freshen up and changed into a kurta before going towards the hall where Omkara was sleeping.

He felt her presence behind him.

"Anika tu abhi soyhi nahin?," Shivaay asked as he turned around.

" Aap ko kaise pata hai ki main hoon?"

" Bas aise," he replied.

" Sab theek toh hai na?"

He nodded.

He caressed her face and tucked her hair behind her ear.

" Everything is fine now.Relax and try to sleep now. Are you feeling ok?," he asked.

" Main bhi theek hoon. I guess I will sleep now. See you in the morning," she whispered.

He grasped her wrist. She turned back towards him.

He kissed her hand.

Anika blushed before scurrying off to join her sleeping sister.

In the morning they had breakfast with the Sharmas before heading back to Mumbai. Gauri was coming with them now and the Sharmas would join them for the actual wedding festivities.

The girls chatted away during the course of the journey.

Upon arriving at Oberoi Manison, Gauri was stunned at how large the mansion was and all the amenties.

Everyone greeted Gauri fondly with love.

" Now we have Gauri as part of our girls gang," Soumya exclaimed.

The other girls laughed thinking about when they had scared Omkara and Rudra. Gauri laughed but said sorry to Rudra when he made a puppy dog face.

Within hours Gauri was Rudra's new best buddy as well. Everyone started the planning for Shivay and Anika's enagement ceremony.

A few days later..

Anika and Gauri along with Sahil were getting ready to go to Oberoi Mansion for the engagement ceremony.

The doorbell rang and Gauri told Anika she would get it.

Gauri approached the door cautiously and was surprised to see who stood there.

Meanwhile..

" Shivaay this means Daksh kidnapped Anika Bhabhi for her supposed grandfather's wealth. But TD Bajaj may not even be related to Anika after all," Omkara stated.

"True but we need to find out for sure. I don't care whether Anika is or not but Daksh believes she is. Why else would he come back to try to kidnap Gauri in exchange for Anika," Shivay pondered.

"Maybe his belief is so strong that is why he keeps trying to take Anika Di for ransom," Rudra stated.

Shivaay cleared his throat.

"I think we should extend an invitation to TD Bajaj and find out for ourselves," Shivaay stated.

" I will take care of that right now," Rudra promised.

Part 8- Revelations

"Mama, Papa aap dono yahaan?," Gauri exclaimed.

" Haan Gauri beta, we thought to come early as some rasams may require the parents presence," her father stated.

"Aur huhme Anika ke liye kuch karna chaiye hai," her mother added.

Gauri smiled and led her parents in. She had her fair share of struggles but she always had these two lovely individuals in her life to console her. The past fifteen years must have been difficult for her older sister. She hoped this marriage and everything that came after made up for her difficult lonely childhood.

"Aayie andar," she stated.

Gauri called out for her sister.

Anika emerged from her room and happily took their blessings.

"Namaste aunty and uncle. What a great surprise!," she exclaimed.

" We wish we could have taken you in as well Anika. We hope we can make it up to you and that you can forgive us someday," Mr. Sharma stated.

Anika shook her head.

" Nahin, vaise I should thank you both for taking care of my Chutki for all this time. I am so relieved she is alive and well," she declared.

"Stop all this emotional nonsense. We have to go to Oberoi Manison before SSO aap ko khud lene aayenge," Sahil chirped.

Anika blushed and swatted his shoulder.

" Sahil you have become very naughty," Gauri said trying not to laugh.

The five of them ended up were able to fit in the car Jhanvi Oberoi had sent. She had arranged the surprise for the girls.

They all sat in the car and headed off.

Shivaay, Omkara and Rudra were mingling together as they awaited their arrival.

"Kam hogaya, Rudra?," Shivaay asked.

"Haan Bhaiya. Vaise Om Bhaiya, doesn't Shivaay Bhaiya seem nervous today for like the first time ever?," Rudra said with glee.

Shivaay stared daggers at him.

"Oh Dumbell be quiet," Omkara stated realizing Shivaay was tensed about something.

" Shivaay is something bothering you? Tum pareshan lagare ho," Omkara stated with his hand on his shoulder.

Shivaay sighed.

"Anika has been through so much her whole life. I hope she will be happy with me. I don't care for the first time about naam, khoon and khandan. She may or not be TD Bajaj's granddaughter, but I will always care for her just the same."

" That is what matters Bhaiya," Rudra declared.

" If you love Anika, everything else will fall into place, " Omkara added.

Shivaay straigtened up and relaxed somewhat.

"Ok guys. Let's go down now," Shivaay stated.

" You know Bhaiya. I am so glad Anika Di agreed to become my Bhabhi. When you were about to get married with Lady Baba, I thought we would loose you forever. Anika Di coming to our family means we are gaining another member, not losing anyone," Rudra declared.

Omkara exchanged a smile with Shivaay.

They all knew what Rudra stated was so true.

Anika, Sahil along with the Sharmas arrived shortly after.

Mr. and Mrs. Sharma went to meet the elders right away. Priyanka and Soumya joined Sahil and Gauri and led Anika to Shivaay.

Shivaay was left dumstruck for the first time seeing Anika.

She wore a gold top and dupatta with pink lengha. She was shy for the first time in her life it seemed like.

Jhanvi and Pinky had the rings. Pinky stood by with Anika's ring and Jhanvi with Shivaay's.

TD Bajaj arrived and looked at the couple and others present there. He saw Gauri and the Sharmas.

As he neared them, Shivaay turned to greet him.

"Hello Mr. TD Bajaj. Kaise hain aap?," Shivaay asked.

" I am startled that you decided to get engaged with my granddaughter without my consent," he snapped.

Shivaay's eyes turned icy blue.

The man had not tried to find his granddaughters in fifteen years. Now he had the audacity to accuse him of being indecent.

"What consent? Anika and Gauri have no idea who you are," Shivaay stated.

" We invited you here for our Bhaiya's engagement. Vaise how do you know these girls are your blood," Rudra asked.

Shivaay got a message sent to his phone suddenly.

He looked at it stunned. It was from the private detective he had hired.

"Oh I see. So Daksh Khurana blackmailed you," Shivaay spoke up.

Everyone exchanged puzzled looks.

" Yes he stated he had my granddaughter in his custody sometime back. But I haven't heard from my son Tushar in many years. We had a falling out. I did hear he had two daughters from my research after I got that call," Mr. Bajaj declared.

" Fifteen years, Mr. Bajaj, aura ab aap apna haq mangare hain?," Anika cried.

She turned to Shivaay.

"Main sirf Shivaay ke saath shaadi karongi," she declared.

" Aur main aapni Di ke saath hoon," Gauri stated.

Mr. Bajaj was stunned. The older girl was like her father and the younger one reminded him of the daughter-in-law he never wanted.

But these two girls were all he had left. His other son had moved away and never looked back. These girls were the future of everything he had left.

"Theek hai, I won't interefere. Lekin main chahta hoon, ki tum dono mujhe ek mauka do. I want to be part of your lives now. I am sorry for not being there for you," he softened.

The girls exchanged looks.

"Theek hai Dadaji," Anika stated.

She came forward and hugged him. It took a lot for her to convince her heart to do this. But her parents had been trying to reach him before they died. There had to be a reason.

Mr. Bajaj became very emotional. This girl was his blood for sure. She radiated warmth of a loved one. How he had wished to find his grandchildren years ago. He had missed so much and how had they grown up? He would have to make it up to them.

Gauri was more hesitant, but Anika nodded in her direction.

The tension in the room dissipated. Everyone laughed and made jokes as they exchanged rings. Shivaay's fingers lingered on her hand after he placed the ring on her finger.

She was able to make him let go, and she placed his ring on his finger.

She looked at him and smiled brightly.

" I know today you made your official promise to be my husband in a few days, but I do not know if I will match up to your expectations," she declared.

He led her by the elbow aside from everyone's eyes.

Holding her hands, he gazed in what seemed like her soul.

" Main hamesha tumare saath hoon Anika," he pledged.

" Shivaay aap ne mere liye itna kuch kiya hai. Jaan dengi ki baari agar kabhie aayi phir main.."

He covered her mouth.

He shook his head.

"Kabhi aisa phirse mat bolna," he stated sternly.

She nodded.

He traced her ring finger.

" No dumb stunts Anika Bajaj," he hissed.

She smirked.

" Same to you Mr. SSO," she replied.

Hey. Lovely chapter again. Loved how Shiv reconciled Anika with her granddad. And his reaction to what she said.
