Rohit's Pov:
I raise an eyebrow as I see anika make her way down the circular stairs of the Oberoi mansion. When it comes to anika, Shivaay is like a dog with a bone. It took him 3 days to track me down and I think it took so long because he wasn't so particularly enthralled about making me meet her. My gaze shifts to Shivaay standing behind his running wife, the perfect guardian angel. He spent the last 4 days following me around, bugging me to talk to anika.
"Rohit, you've been harping on about how important she is to you. Well then prove it. Come to OM. If you care so much about her you wouldn't have left her."
I still remember the fire in those eyes. Half demented.
"Shivaay Singh Oberoi. How long do you think it is going to take your family to destroy anika's notion of finding a family that cares for her. 3 weeks? 2 months? How long before she realizes the taunts won't be stopping? That the family she loves" I pause for an extra second looking at him intently "won't stand up for her? Anika is a very passionate person. She loves with passion, and hates equally. How long do you think will it take for your family to change that love to hate?
How long before you...they lose that chance? I can't influence Anika. I can't change her mind. I cannot take her away. But I trust you to do that for me. But I can't see her hurt. I will not see her hurt."
"What the hell do you want me to do? Throw my mother out? I try my best to be there for Anika."
Just tell me you love her dammit!
" What do you want me to do?" I mutter instead.
" Come with me and meet her. She's worried sick."
"One condition." Shivaay needs motivation to admit his feelings, and maybe stealing his wife and locking her away from him will make him realize why he cant live without her.
"Anything." He replies immediately and I raise an eyebrow.
"Don't be so sure. I want you to send her home with me."
"Never." He growls and I bite back the urge to smile. Anika is amazing at naming people.
Bhagad Billa is literally growling for his billi.
"She won't come home if I ask her to. And I d like to save her a little heartbreak. If you send her away you will just provide catalyst to a reaction that has already started." I smirk, just to get on his nerves.
"Forget it. She is at HER home."
"Oh, but the important question is...is she happy Shivaay?"
"Rohit...you can stay there with her. Forever. She'll learn to be happy, mom will accept her."
"Alternatively, she and Sahil come home, we shift to our new home and she'll learn to forget all of you."
Anika is going to murder me alive...but it's not my fault her husband is so...Shivaay.
"Don't do this Rohit."
"You have a choice Shivaay, I am not forcing anything."
I would never forget the way he looked at me that day. Half broken and half furious. I almost changed my mind and gave in to his demands. But he simply slipped on his shades and muttered a "Fine" that seemed wrenched out of his very soul.
As I watch Anika stumble over the last few steps my hands shoot out to stop her from falling.
"Easy angel" I mutter, clucking at her ever clumsy nature.
She looks at me for a second and slaps me. Hard.
I glare at her furious and surprised. Okay what the hell brought that on?
"I'm sorry." Her weak voice startles me even more and then she hugs me hard.
I rub her back slowly, whispering into her ear, "I'm sorry."
Apologizing for the previous week, but more for what was to come. And I had no doubt what would hurt her more.
