Hey guys! Thank u so much for giving so much love! And I am really really sorry for not updating earlier. But I promise I will try & update earlier next time! Do tell if you feel I could make this better!
This part is about everything that made Anika stay even when she knew that she should leave. PART 2Pinky Singh Oberoi had seen many marriages. And her experience with them had made her know that the Oberois no matter how lucky they were had terrible luck when it came to marriages. She had seen Janvi's crumple to ashes. And her own was a compromise she kept for her own son. But now that she saw Shivaay & Anika, her heart burn. Not just bcoz she had been someone who had tried to separate them once but bcoz all the external factors gone, her son was still acting like a gadha & ruining the beautiful thing he was blessed with. Anika wasn't being any help too. The girl was surprisingly quiet when she was suppose to fight for her rights. And she felt that one of these days they all would have to step up to make these two realise what they were doing to each other & themselves.
Pinky came to the living room to find Anika standing just behind Shivaay.
Irritated why she wasn't going beside him or even asking him to move aside she said,
"Annika khadi kya hai hai, aage chal aur serve kar"
To her amazement Shivaay turned around listening to that & his face was a mask of warm fury. As his eyes fell on Anika, tears pricked in his eyes.
And as another one of the nasty taunts fell on Pinky's ears she knew what was happening. She held Anika's hand & turned her toward her.
The girl was barely able to fight the tears in her eyes, trying to force a smile. Looking at her face, Pinky felt her eyes welling up.
Right then Pinky decided to put on a strong face & said
" Annika mera phone Shivaay ke room mein reh gaya hai, jaa leke aa"
Anika looked at Pinky surprised, still trying hard not to cry
"Dekh Kya rahi hai jaa na"
Anika ran upstairs. But Pinky had one more person to tackle. Shivaay fisted his hand & was about to enter the living room .
Pinky held his hand & said,
"Agar in sabh ke muh band karna chahata hai naa toh vo kar Jo tu bhi janta hai Sahi hai"
Saying that Pinky went to the living room, clearing her voice & forcing a smile she said,
"Dekhiye naa Mrs. Sabarwal ,Ankit ke liye ladkiyon ki photos dikhani thi, lekin main phone Shivaay ke room mein hi bhul gayi"
Anika went to her room upstairs. She wasn't dumb enough to not know that their was no phone in her room that Pinky Aunty wanted her to fetch. And she was quite sure that her mother in law who was faking her indifference since last three months had heard what her friends has said about her son & her. She honestly did not mind her indifference. Bcoz she knew either it was this or losing Pinky Aunty forever bcoz Tia's truth has broken her completely.
Right now she just couldn't figure out why she felt so bad about what was said. All that they had said was their opinion & everyone was entitled to it & she, Anika was never bothered by people's opinions. They never mattered. It wasn't like she had heard these gossips about her & Shivaay for the first time.
She had been working for the Oberois since last 6 months.
And since last three months she had worked for many families like the Oberois. The names differed & so did the faces but the one thing Anika found similar with all these people was the stories. Every family had a story & it belonged to people who valued things far more than people. She knew each one of them & all this time had taken away the surprise she felt at the thoughts these people held. They were ready to throw stones at others through their glass houses.
And yet here she was sitting at the edge of the pool wiping her face off the tears as a new stream made its way.She had already taken a decision, hadn't she? She had made the choice. She has decided to stay, keep the pretend just like Shivaay did, ignore the things they were suppose to talk about & act like everything was fine. And yet she always went back to the same choices she was served.
She was the happiest she has ever been in her life. She couldn't ask for more. Everything she has always wanted, even envied was all with her today.
Sahil was in a good school, the best to be precise. How proud she felt when he showed her the A plus he got in the test last week. Her heart would swell every time she heard him speak English just the way Shivaay did with his foreign accent & heavy words.
She has always felt guilty that she was unable to give him the opportunities he deserved. That him worrying about her has aged him prematurely. That he had somehow adulted far before his age.
Now when she saw him turning everyone at the mansion into a child with his antics, worrying about the things a child his age is actually suppose to be, happy, she couldn't give this up.
She has a family now, people who cared about her, people for whom it mattered that she was happy, healthy, alive. People she could come home to. People she could share anything with, even her silences.
She even had an identity, something she thought was lost forever. She was Anika & she was a wedding planner, she was running an agency, employing people, paying for her brother's education, paying back the loans she had taken from the Oberois. She didn't own this agency completely but she still was the maximum share holder.
All she had ever dreamt of, hoped for, the hopes that gave her strength in the darkest of times, times that were so terrible, so painful that her brain had completely wiped them out to keep her sane, had come true.
And then there was he. Overprotective, supportive, loving Sahil like he loved Om & Rudra. With her every single day, every single moment. She could see him, touch him, breathe the same air that he did & most importantly make sure that he was fine, happy & sometimes have the pride of being the reason for his happiness.
Wasn't it all enough? Wasn't asking for something more just being greedy? Can't she be just happy in what she has right now, what they do?
And then like someone would just come & pop her bubble, a thought would infiltrate her whole picture.
Was she really happy? Were they? And most of all after doing everything she could for him, going through all that she had, didn't she deserve more than what she was given? Didn't she deserve getting the title she was actually playing the part of since the time she had stepped in this house as his wife? She has sided by him, loved him every single time, in sickness ( her & his) & health, in happiness & sadness, even when it was at her disadvantage. She has stood strong beside him telling him to move further & fight & at times when he couldn't she has even fought his battles for him.
She knew that this arrangement was never going to bring them happiness but still she has decided to stay becoz she had seen what having all the things she has today felt like. It felt good, comforting to have Sahil's childhood back, to have a family & to have him, partially yet have him.And she was scared to let this all go for something that she wasn't quite sure of.
She even thought to leave without telling anyone. But the way he, they have treated her after Tia had gone, it felt wrong to walk away without giving him a chance.
But now that she heard it all with him she realized she wanted to be given the rights she deserved not for the women sitting downstairs but for herself. It never mattered that he call her his wife in front of everyone. It mattered that he call her his wife.
They have decided to keep this pretend. They talked about others, their problems. They even laughed & faked that they were happy. Pretended that what they had was enough, knowing that it would never be. Just like she pretended right now that she hasn't realise he was standing behind her since last 5 minutes formulating thoughts of where to start. This needed to stop, they needed to face the reality.
Anika stood up & turned around.
He looked terrible. Those green eyes that sparkled with Tadi, that took her breath away everytime he looked at her now looked dulled with pain.
"We should talk Anika"
Anika took a long breath & said,
"Haan Shivaay humme baat karni chahiye"
