What I think is happening is that the scene was supposed to address audiences who only watch DBO. This was their introduction to Shivaay, his character, his relationship with Anika and what the conflict is, there. It was done to a) let people know about ShivIka and b) to get them interested and make them watch IB, too.

I agree there may not be many people who only watch DBO but they still had to have an SSO introductory scene, so this was it.

like in 1st episode anika talked like anika not kalavati

we are having problem because we watch both together and trying to link the story but i think its time we get to know that dbo is totally a different show

Quite an interesting way of looking at it, Risha:) Loved your perspective.

If you see in the context of DBO, it was meant for Shivaay to tell Om about marriages which do not have any future- parallel b/w Shivika and Rikara. But it's also true that the audience which watches DBO, barring some new viewers, is mostly comprised of those who watch IB.

I still feel it holds because it delineates the central conflict of their story, which still holds good for them even after the farak games and whatnot.

But yes, maybe it was meant to entice the viewers of DBO to also watch IB, that is quite plausible:) But the scene had the feel of an exposition- the tenderness and the longing with which he talks of a future not to be, certainly the IB AND DBO viewers are meant to draw parallels:) And this talk of marriages without a future would actually apply to all the three bros, so it was certainly pertinent.

That is possibly it, but yea timeline wise it makes no sense in IB, and quite clearly with Om heading back to OM, scenes will start overlapping now. I don't watch DBO, but after the ShiTia wedding fiasco, things may start to link between the two shows. Ultimately might just be one hour IB, but second half hour with focus on Om and Gauri.

The scene on its own was really good. And I didn't feel any heartbreak with his I cant see her as the mother to my kids, we've got a long way to that.

True, this stands, he is quite often confused. His actions speak louder than his words. And certainly he knows that Anika is exemplary by herself, she is GROWING to be an exception to his prejudices...but I really don't think he will forsake them at this point. What is consoling is that he isn't ready to forsake Anika either:)

Yeah, otherwise, it doesn't make any sense at all. It was such a random-ass scene if the two shows are put together.

Well NKAK was never dead, and it may just raise its ugly head after Tia departure. After all, Tia is a pitch perfect girl filling his obsession with NKAK. So, we may see some sparks flying again bw Shivika. And it may be one of the reasons why he is reluctant to give her deserving position in his life.

However, I hope Anika does not get to hear that she is not worthy of bearing his children 🤢..It can be put up in a milder tone? Right ? This would be very cruel, and disrespecting for any woman.

Having said that i feel there is no need to panic ATM. It wont be that bad if at all it is addressed in IB.

Edit: On a lighter note, if we go with Shivay philosophy in DBO, so he is fine fathering any random child as long as his wife has NKAK...like really 😆

Actually the scene where Kalavati talks as Anika and calls up Om, doesn't make sense either! Because then the audience is expected to assume that the ML is fake.

Gul needs to pull up her socks and maintain continuity. But for once I will let this pass because the scene was well-written and significant...not to mention, poignant.
