Hello Fellas...!!
For once I've tried to portray feelings in sweet and simple manner...!! I hope you enjoy it...Please give it a try...!!
MEMORIES...!!
Standing at the door, she stared at the nameplate "ShivIka Singh Oberoy". As she stepped in the apartment, a beautiful statue of Lord Ganesha sat in the front blessing them. She joined her hands as his voice came from behind
"You said he keeps the evils out of our home and lives and blesses us with all the health, wealth and happiness...So he should be remembered first."
She smiled a little passing through the well decorated passage that led to the lavish and spacious center hall. It was awesomely designed and decorated. All the creative art works, stylish pieces, contrasting colour-coordinated furniture, matching drapes looked pleasant. The paintings, their photo frames were perfectly stuck on the brightly painted walls. The big, shiny center jhoomer made it all the more gorgeous... It was like a dream home she would have always wanted.
"It's all your choice...classy na?" he said as she explored the whole house. She was looking at everything in awe, like she has visited someone else's house for the first time, when in fact it was her own, where she lived...!
Shivay recalled the events of past few days while she was observing kitchen. He was working when he received the call in the office that Anika has lost her balance as she slipped and fell on the stairs tumbling all the way down. She had been shifted to the hospital. He had lost all his senses when he saw her lying on that bed...Her head was bandaged, she had twisted her foot and some bruises here and there.
It took her almost two days to properly regain her consciousness. But he got the shock of his life, when she didn't recognise him. Leave him, she couldn't remember her name, her face, herself...She forgot her very own existence...
As her mind felt blank, she refused to believe anyone. The doctor had very hard time convincing her that her name was Anika...Anika Shivay Singh Oberoy !. That she was married to a man, who sat there numb, holding his head. She relented a bit after they showed her their wedding photographs. She looked happy with this stranger..!
She didn't know this smart looking handsome guy, who currently looked all disheveled and miserable. Anyone could say seeing his condition that he has not eaten anything or not slept properly for days. But the way he looked at her when she opened her eyes, happiness on his pale face, all the pain and concern in his eyes...wanted her to believe him. Somewhere in her heart, he looked right...!
Her injuries were not severe but the way her head was banged, had caused her a short term memory loss. Since she woke up, she saw this man behave like her shadow. He took care of every little things she needed. Everything was done, even before she could ask for. It was like he knew her inside out.
After being under observance for two-three days, doctor allowed to discharge her. She didn't know anyone other than him or any other place to go to. Everyone around her called him her husband, so that meant they lived together. Though reluctant at first, she agreed to go with him at 'Their Home'. She felt she stood nowhere in the world, but it tinkled her when he lovingly asked "Ghar chale?"
She entered in a room where a life-sized portrait hung in front on the wall behind a double bed. They stood there smiling as he held her waist standing behind. They looked very cute and content together. She fidgeted her hands unmindful as she couldn't remind when that photo was clicked.
"This is our room" he said showing her around. She got a little uncomfortable at his words. He sensed her hesitation, so he added warmly
"Get yourself comfortable here...I'll be in the next room" she looked up at him surprised. An awkward moment passed but she nodded unsure as he smiled.
"You freshen up and relax. I'll cook something for us" She was damn hungry, so when he asked what she would like to eat
"AalooPuri" she said in an instant "That's my favorite." He shot his head up wide eyed "Anyone would love it, right?" she asked innocently.
"Of course" he was a little disappointed as he thought she... but nevertheless he smiled and left.
After having shower, she checked her wardrobe. All the clothes were exactly matching her style that she would have liked. She chose a white ankle pants and blue long top with cuts from the waist. Standing in front of the mirror, she wondered how those fit her so well.! She put on minimal accessories.
An aroma of freshly cooked Aaloopuri dragged her out of the room. She stood there watching Shivay set the table. He didn't like this quiet and chhuimui Anika. How much he wanted his tadibaaz and talkative Anika back...!
"Khana taiyaar hai" he said pulling a chair for her to sit. She sat avoiding any contact with him.
"Your special chef at your service ma'am...!" he winked saluting as she chuckled a bit. They sat opposite each other while he served. As soon as she had a first bite, it gave her a strong sense of a deja vu. She felt like she had lived this moment before. This taste, his gestures...
"Kya hua? Acha nahi bana?" He asked concerned as she stopped eating.
"No, no...It's yummy" She shook off the thought smiling and focused on the food. They were too hungry to talk. So quietly they just devoured their meal then went to rest.
As time passed, the awkwardness between them lessened. She started to be comfortable in this house and more with him being around. With all his care and affection, she tended to recover fast. But her mind refused to recollect anything...
Whenever she was alone, she tried to force her brains to remind something, anything... Sometimes she felt so helpless...as nothing came to her rescue. Even Shivay tried all the possible ways to bring back her memories. He more often used their punch words, recreated some situations or reframed certain moments... with no success.
If they try to push her, doctor's words rang in his ears "Unhe stress nahi hona chahiye...It's possible, she gets her memory back soon or that part of memory will leave her forever...It can threaten her health" and he would let it go. He couldn't risk her life again...
"Shivay... Aur kitna time lagega..." she shouted from the kitchen "Jaldi kijiye na..."
"Ha haan. Bas I'm ready." He came in the hall, dressed in his formal suit. 'He looks dashing in formals..!' she thought but shrug it off.
She wanted to resume her job as the Event Manager with Shivay in his office but he resisted and requested her to rest at home only. He would have never left her alone, but he can't do so all the time. Today he had an important meeting, where his attendance was required.
"You sure, you'll be okay all by yourself?" he asked this umpteenth time and held her hand.
"Haan Shivay... I'll be fine" she smiled and handed him a glass of juice. "Aap jaldi jaaiye aur jaldi aaiye..." He wanted to stay with her only but she insisted him to go ahead. She didn't want him to stop living his life for her. They needed to move on...
Now, they have become more of friends rather to say Best friends. They talked of many things. Shivay told her many instances, important events of their lives, all the sweet fights they had, all the happy times they spent together...Now, she laughed often with him...
He always tried to enlighten her mood. Even she had quite opened up. She could share whatever she liked to. His lovely gestures never failed to bring smile on her face...
Though it was her, who wanted him to go today, she felt lorn without him. All this time he was always with her, she was habituated to have him around her. She was bored alone. All his little gestures, their carefree giggles made her happy. Though only few days had passed, but she missed him...
A bleak feeling laced her as she remembered his smiling face. His hopeful eyes hurt her... Whenever she said something or act in certain way that she used to do, his eyes always sparkled
"Kuch yaad aaya ?"
But it hurt her to let him down as never anything came to her.
"It's Okay... Everything will be fine..." His assurance, faith and trust motivated her to try once more...
At one night, she was sleeping in her room. Shivay had got up to get some water. As he crossed her room, he heard some faint voices coming from inside. He peeped in to see her shivering. She was all sweaty and mumbling something in her sleep.
May be she had some weak flashes of something in front of her which she could not decipher or some bad dream he thought. It had panicked her.
"Shh..." Shivay reached to her "Anika..." he tapped her cheek. She looked distrought.
"Ani..." She woke up with a jerk and shot open her eyes panting. But as soon as she saw Shivay beside her, she nearly jumped on him and hugged him tight
"Sh..Shivay..." she cried "Shivay... Aap thik hai na...?" she asked in choky voice, still in his arms.
"Shh...Anika..." He caressed her head "Main thik hoon...But tum thik ho...?" She nodded as he tried to sooth her.
"I'm sorry Shivay...Par mujhe kuch yaad nahi aa raha..." She sobbed.
"Hey...It's Okay...Please don't stress yourself..." He pressed his cheek on her head. Then he pulled back and made her drink some water.
"Tumhe mujhpe bharosa hai...?" He asked softly as she nodded "Sabse zyada...!" He smiled humming and carefully laid her back on the bed
"Sab thik ho jaayega...Ab so jao..." He covered her with a soft blanket and caressed her forehead. As soon as she calmed down and closed her eyes, he got up to leave.
"Please don't go leaving me..." She held his hand and pleaded innocently.
"I'm here, I'm here... I can never leave you Anika..." He sat back beside her as she gripped his hand tight. "Now please sleep..."
The next morning, Shivay opened his eyes and found himself in their room. A smile appeared on his face only to disappear as he remembered what had happened last night. He turned to see her, but she was not there. He was about to get up to look out for her when she entered with a tray in her hands.
"Anika...!" He relaxed but started "Woh I...I..." He tried to reason why and how he was there.
"It's Ok. I'm sorry Shivay..." She stopped him "Meri vajah se aapko itni pareshani hui..." and looked down.
"Are you alright ?" He asked dismissing her apology. She nodded and smiled offering him a mug from the tray.
"Espresso...!?" He asked surprised as he took a sip "Tumhe kaise pata chala..."
"Ke aapko yeh kadvi coffee pasand hai ?" She completed his question. "Pata nahi" She shrugged "Shayad aapke chehre se..." He confusingly raised his eyebrow as she continued
"Aapne pehle kyun nahi bataya? Jab main subah subah aapko zyada doodhwali, kadak, mithi Chaay pilati thi...?" She giggled seeing his goofy smile.
She knew he cared for her much more than he showed. Though he never let her feel that, but his entire life had abruptly changed. Though she was there, he missed her. In spite of her being in front of him all this while, he was alone...She felt his loneliness... She felt him struggle every fear of loosing her.
Though he never told her, she knew now, what she meant for him. He had always felt her presence, whenever she was around...! She had seen him shed secret tears, whenever she got disturbed by her uncertain thoughts or flashes. She had felt all his intense and protective stares, while he stood at the door thinking she was asleep. She heard those unsaid words...
That night, may be she tormented her mind above limit, as she urgently wanted to get her memories back. Not only because she did not want to loose all those beautiful moments they shared together, but more importantly, she did not want to loose him. After all this she had knew, she belonged with him... How safe and content she felt in his arms...!
Though her brains did not support her with her past, but her heart had accepted him as her present And wanted him to be her future too.
Yes! She had fell for her husband...! And she was ready to be his wife...!
Not only about Espresso coffee but she had known many of his habits, likes and dislikes by now. It was night time, post dinner she sat holding a photo and caressed his smiling face with her hand. He was busy on some business call. When he was returning to his bed, her eyes fell on her. She sat there with their old photo albums and so many photo frames scattered around her.
His eyes moistened as he saw at his world sitting there surrounded by so many Memories...! He went in and stood in front of her "Anika...Yeh sab..."
"Yaadein hai..."
she said smiling as tears brimmed in her eyes. "Kabhi kabhi yaadon ke sahare puri zindagi kat jaati hai... Aur agar ye yaadein na ho, toh yehi zindagi kaatne ko daudti hai... Ek khalipan sa lagta hai, ek michmichi si machi rehti hai..." Sitting beside her he placed his hand on her shoulder.
"Mere paas hamari yaadein nahi, sirf aap hai...Aur aapke paas main nahi, bas hamari yaadein hai..." He just stared at her not knowing what to say.
"You really inspire me Shivay... Aage badhne ke liye. You taught me, ke jina kya hota hai... Jab itne bade world mein I had no one, You were there for me, Always... Aapki vajah se I could believe in myself" She paused
"Memories sirf sahara de sakti hai, saath nibhana maine aapse jaana. Aapke pyaar ne mujhe himmat di firse jine ki..." She held his hand as he warmly looked into her black orbs "Because I know, no matter what happens, You'll stand by me..."
"Always..." He said caressing her hand.
"Jo yaad hi nahi, un yaadon ke piche daud ke hum jina to nahi chhod sakte na...?" She looked back into his blue eyes "Aap hi kehte hai na, when we live with our hearts, we create memories...!" He was mesmerised with the way she had accepted the situation and was ready to move on.
"Yeh yaadein khaas hai... kyunki inme aap hai..." She placed her hand on his cheek as he sighed. "Aapne to meri puri life hi khaas bana di hai" She stood up and faced him
"Aapne mere liye bahot kuch kiya hai..." He started to protest but she continued "Ek favor aur kar denge ?" She moved to a drawer and brought something.
She lengthened her hand in front of him as he frowned surprised. She opened it to show a small box. He immediately understood what that was as his eyes twinkled.
"Can't we stay here, together...?" He looked up at her innocent eyes "Main yeh issliye nahi keh rahi ke raat ko mujhe darr lagta hai..." He smiled as she blushed a little "But because I want to be with you...!"
He took a step close to her. Smilingly she closed her eyes as he filled sindoor in her foreline. His smile widened as he took out her Mangalsutra from his pocket and tied it around her neck.
"Jab aap mere saath hai...toh hum nayi yaadein bhi bana lenge..." He had an ear to ear smile as a lone tear escaped his eyes.
"You don't know, how much I have waited to have you back..." He pulled her in his embrace. They gave in all their pains, disappointments, their sufferings...All the uncertainties vanished in this magical moment...!
"Let's create memories...!!"
He pressed his lips on her forehead as she hugged him resting her head on his heart. They were ready to embrace the new moments that awaited them. They were ready to give them another chance to love, to smile, to stand by each other... They got ready to live many more new Memories...together...!!!
