I was happy at the start when they showed Pinky less vampish than Monorama. She used to insult Kushi and Payal long before they became daughters in law of the house. She was from a cheap background. (which they never fully explored) and I think came to RM as a servant and got involved with the son. I think she got pregnant and Nani got her married to the son. Most women in her place would have kicked her out. She was in many ways a nasty woman. Her only redeeming quality her genuine love for her son, niece, and nephew. She had an inferiority complex so always liked to point out others as inferior to make herself look superior.
Pinky is from a village, but she is not from a trashy background. She was actually someone the Snr Mr. Obeoi chose (probably someone from his own village) for his son. Tej married a posh girl from Mumbai. Pinky never felt fully accepted in the Oberoi house coz she was not sophisticated like Jhanvi. But she made her own place there anyway.
Coming to how she acts with Annika, she was never shown insulting her for no reason like Manorama did. She never treated her badly just coz she worked for them. She was angry after the wedding, but when she saw the video of how Shivaay forced Annika to marry him, she apologized to Annika herself. So she is NOT a bad woman. She supports Jhanvi and speaks against Tej and to Tej. Something even Dadi doesn't do! But now in Annika's case, after Daksh and Tia poisoned her mind, she thinks it was always Annika's "Plan" to trap Shivaay. Maybe she thinks she even saved him from ACP for this reason. She got engaged to Daksh in 1 week. When she thinks about all this, she is wondering if it was all a plan by her? In some ways, her suspicion is understandable. She thinks she knows Tia. She knows her family. Shivaay was engaged to her for months and probably knew her for a long time too. So as far as she is concerned she can trust Tia, but Annika she knows nothing of. Shivaay didn't even use to like her. But now suddenly he is like her Bakth and won't listen to a word against her. In such a situation, she is wondering if Annika has done something to influence Shivaay?
If one thinks logically, Pinky's behavior and insecurities make total sense. As far as she knows Tia has done nothing wrong. She was kidnapped. Shivaay married Annika as a cover up and then Tia came back. Now Tia is pregnant and even proved the child was Shivaay's. He even announced her as his wife. So in Pinky's eyes, Shivaay taking Annika's side, Annika still living with them after signing divorce papers is not justified. So when Tia sets traps for Annika to make her look bad, Pinky takes Tia's side and Shivaay Annika's side, and this irks her. She thinks she is losing her son. Not just that, she thinks Shivaay is making the "Wrong" decisions. Little does she know what Tia and her sisters are up to. When she knows I can't imagine how she will feel. Yes, Pinky is HELL annoying right now. But how she acts is rooted in her misguided beliefs. As for Annika, she NEVER speaks up when Pinky insults her and just takes it all crying. It's not about being rude. But you can defend yourself and your honor without being rude and obnoxious. Respecting elders does not mean disrespecting yourself. I think more than Pinky, Annika's inaction is making watching their scenes intolerable. At least for me! Good post BTW.
