Shivaay TS - NaamFt. ShivOmRu / ShivIkaPart 3Shivaay had sent Om and Rudra away, asking for some time. They had unwillingly complied.
Anika entered the room to find Shivaay sitting in darkness, his face covered in his hands. His hair was disheveled, his eyes were red. This wasn't the Shivaay Anika knew. She slowly walked towards him and placed her hands on his shoulders.
"Shivaay meri taraf dekhiye" Anika softly called out. When he looked up, Anika's strength and courage shook. The man who she had seen for so long, never scared of anything, standing as the great wall, looked so broken. It was like someone had finally managed to shake the foundations of this wall. But hadn't she promised him, 2 years back, that she will always stand as a support for this wall, never let it down.
"Anika..." Shivaay's broken voice called out to her. He hugged her fiercely. Anika caressed his back, his hair. She breathed calmly and tried soothing him only with her presence. This was something she didn't know how she would handle. "Shivaay, aap ek sachai se itna darr gaye? Aap toh kisi bhi cheez se nahi darte na?" Anika smiled painfully.
"Woh Shivaay Singh Oberoi tha." He replied.
"Shivaay aisa mat kahiye. Aap abhi bhi SSO hain." Anika's voice was breaking.
"Nahi Ani-" before he could continue, Anika placed her palm on his lips. Shushed him, and continued, "Khoon se rishtein nahi bante Shivaay. Iss parivaar ne aap ko kitna kuch diya hai. Itni si baat ke liye aap inn sabko chhod denge?"
"Anika yeh itni si baat nahi. It's not small." Shivaay muttered.
"Shivaay, yeh aapka parivaar hai. How can you do this? By choosing to go away, you are cheating on them, on the love they showered on you all your life. Dekhiya Shivaay, inn 3 saalon main, jabse main inhein janti hun, aap sab ko, inhone humesha aapki chinta ki, aapse pyaar kiya. Ab ek sacchai aapke rishto ko jhutla nahi sakti."
"Anika you say this because you aren't in my place."
"Agar aap meri jagah hote aur main aapki, toh aap yahi kehte. Sahil ke paida hone se pehle mujhe uske mom dad ne ghar laya. Sahil ko toh yeh hi pata tha ki main uski behen hun. Jab 5 saal ka hua, toh uske parents ka accident ho gaya. Buaji ne usse keh diya ki main uski behen nahi toh kya Sahil ne mujhe apne se duur kar diya? Humara rishta khoon ke rishte se bada hai. Shivaay, Om aur Rudra ko sacchai malum hui toh aap ke liye fikr kam nahi hui. Aap agar inhein chhod kar chale gaye toh toot jayenge. Inka khayal kaun rakhega? Aap ke liye khoon mayne rakhta tha, shayad ab bhi rakh raha hai. Par sach batau, inke loya nahi hai iski koi zaroorat. Unke liye aap important ho. Aapki lineage nahi."
[If you had been in my place, you would have said the same things, right? I was adopted by Sahil's parents before he was even born. He had known me as his sister all along until he turned five and his parents died in the accident. Buaji couldn't contain herself, and in an attempt to throw me out of his life, she told him that I wasn't his sister. But did Sahil throw me out? Did he stop calling me his sister? No! Because the bond that we shared was more important than the blood we didn't. Even after they came to know about this, Om and Rudra cared for you. Rudra cried in concern for you. Shivaay, if you leave them, they'll break into pieces. You will shatter their lives. Blood and lineage might matter to you, might be important to you, it isn't the same for them. You matter to them, not your blood.]
"That's the point Anika. It matters to me. All my life, I flaunted the very fact that I was an Oberoi. I derailed so many people only because they weren't blue bloods. I said so many things to Dev, to you Anika, to you." Shivaay hid his face in his palms.
"But you accepted me Shivaay. You learnt it the hard way that generalized opinions don't work. And these people, talk to then Shivaay, and tell me, who do you think won't accept you? They lpve you for who you are, not what you are."
"Do you think Mo-" he stopped mid-way. What was he supposed to address her as? At this realisation, a new wave of guilt and anxiety washed over him. He remembered all those times when he had ignored her, didn't thought of her as his mom, was ashamed that she couldn't speak English. And she, she had tried to learn English for him, did everything she could so that he was happy. He sighed in frustration. He had been an idiot all his life.
Sensing the directions of her husband's thoughts, Anika cupped his face. Nodding negatively, she helped him get up and made him lie on the bed. Shivaay sat up a little, his head against the headboard and when Anika was about to go bring him some water, he held her hands tightly.
"Promise me Anika, you won't leave me. You will accept me. You will not leave my side. Please Anika. Please." Shivaay's eyes were glistening with tears.
The fatigue in his voice, the haunting thoughts that loomed over him, the tears in his eyes pierced Anika's heart. But somewhere she knew Shivaay would rise again, and if he needed her by his side, she will be there. Nodding in a yes with a small upward tilt of her lips she kissed his forehead tenderly. "Promise, Shivaay, I'll support you."
Shivaay closed his eyes with a small smile that vanished in moments. He hugged her fiercely by the waist while Anika ran her hands through his hair, trying to comfort him. They stood there like that for long. It was only in the crack of the dawn that Shivaay realised that he had somehow fallen asleep, even in a situation that shook the ground underneath his feet. His head lay in Anika's lap as she sat uncomfortably throughout the night. As Shivaay shifted a little bit, Anika woke up immediately, despite being the heavy sleeper she was. They both freshened up and Shivaay told her that he had come to a decision.
-
The Oberoi's had been sitting in the living room since night. Even Pinky had managed to come out but maintained her distance with Shakti. Dadi and Janhavi had been by her side whenever she broke down. They, along with Om, Rudra and Priyanka had been trying to make her understand Shivaay's situation to no avail.
Suddenly, Shivaay walked out of the room with Anika by his side. Om and Rudra got up and hugged Shivaay tightly followed by Priyanka who joined their hug.
"How are you Shivaay?" Om asked as he left the hug.
"I am fine." Shivaay answered with no hint of emotion in his voice proving once again that there was no one like him who could put in a mask of indifference, even when everyone knew he was shaken.
"I hope you have come to the right decision Shivaay." Om asked, the hope brimming in his voice.
"Oh My Mata!" Pinky shreiked. "Isse decisions lena ka rights kisne de diya. Woh bhi iss baat par." Everyone present in the room looked at Pinky in shock. Shivaay stood still. Well, now he knew he had taken the right decision. He didn't deserve this family, did he?
"Choti Maa?" Rudra said slowly. "Yeh aap kya keh rahi hai? Obviously Shivaay Bhaiya humare saath rehne wale hain. Or O, Bhaiya ko decision ki choice hi kyu deni hai? Shivaay Bhaiya has no choice. He has to stay here. This is his home, his family. What the hell had happened to you O? We are OBros, for god sake! He can't leave us! What will happen to us?" Rudra's voice broke at each word. He rushed to Shivaay and hugged him. "Bhaiya, tell them that you are staying. No one makes the decisions for Shivaay Singh Oberoi, right? And my Bhaiya will never leave us alone. He is the Great Wall, hai na?"
Shivaay stood still, his eyes fixated on the woman he called his mother. Her eyes were red, but yet again, she was one human whose emotions Shivaay never did understand. Rudra started shaking Shivaay by his shoulders. "Bhaiya! Bhaiya? C'mon, answer Bhaiya!" At that, Rudra's eye watered and he broke. Om rushed to his side, hugging him and Shivaay.
"Anika Bhabhi, please make Bhaiya speak. I don't know, did you guys have an argument? Haan, O." Rudra tried to smile. "Iss liye Shivaay Bhaiya is so quiet. Anika Bhabhi must have had a mood swing and they must have fought." Anika fought back a sob. She had never seen all Oberois delicate all at once. This scene that was in front of her eyes was heart breaking. It was like the Sun of their Solar System was about to get exhausted. Without doubt, she knew that this sun will take away all their happiness like the sunlight. And not only them, Shivaay would suffer as well. What would he do without those around whom his life revolved. Funnily enough, all of him also revolved around these stars that brightened him up, especially Om and Rudra. She was sure none of them would be the same. Then why was Pinky aunty bot thinking twice. Just because Shivaay turns out to be her step-son, everything she did for him, all the pride she felt for him, all the love, attention and care she showered on him, was all of it forgotten just because of a mere truth. Wow! Truth had never been so powerful to over power a mother's love. She looked shakily at Shivaay. His world was about to break. She promised to herself that she will help him gather himself, no matter what.
Taking a deep breath, Shivaay sighed. "I don't know what to say. I should probably thank you all for having me here so long. Om, Rudra, Bade Papa, Badi Maa, Dadi..." he paused, "Dad and Mo-" he stopped this time. In no time, Pinky was standing in front of Shivaay. Before he could say anything, she placed a tight slap on his face.
Everyone looked at Pinky in horror. "Teri himmat kaise hui haan?" Shivaay looked down guilty.
"Apni maa ko yun hi paraya kar diya." Once again everyone's heads turned in Pinky's direction ever though they had hardly moved them. Shivaay's expression morphed. Everything that he had held cam out, the dam of his control broke. Pinky hugged Shivaay fiercely.
"What do you thinks haan? Ab tu mujhe apni Moms bhi nahi bolega." She said, slapping him slightly on his head. "Pagal!"
Shivaay looked up at her and everyone saw a smile on his face that they hadn't seen since forever. He hugged her again and everyone witnessed a 4 year old Shivaay again when he had seen his mom after almost a year.
"Rudra, Om." Pinky called out.
"Jee Choti Maa!" The brothers replied with mirth flowing in their voices.
"Agar abhi apne iss bewakoof bhai ko keh diya hota toh yeh toh besharam ghar chhod kar na chala jata. Total idiots." They chuckled and nodded their heafs in excitement.
"Ab tum Junior OBros aise hi khade rahige ki humare liye accha sa kuch khaane ko banoge? Go cooks!" Pinky pulled Rudra's cheeks who looked at her in shock. "Choti Ma?! I am not a kid anymore."
"Haan haan, you are no childs anymore." Pinky grinned and walked to her room.
Om and Rudra hugged Shivaay tightly. "Dekha! Choti Maa ne prove kar diya woh aapki mom kyu hain!" Rudra hugged and kissed Shivaay.
Om smirked while Shivaay gave Rudra a weird look. "Kya?" Rudra frowned. "Yeh toh senti hi tha na!" He whined. To his and Om's surprise, Shivaay kissed Rudra on his cheek.
Rudra's face glowed like it was an early Christmas. He dragged Om and Shivaay to the kitchen, not before asking Saumya to bring both his Bhabhis along.

Pinky Singh Oberoi smiled as she stood behind the pillar. She had finally managed to do something that was actually of benefit of the family, didn't she? She wondered what would have happened if she had gone the path that her anger was leading her to. She had observed Shivaay for long last night. Him with his brothers and then Anika. It had taken her sometime but she understood what Om, Rudra and Anika meant. Shivaay was one of the biding factors who bound the OBros as much as Om and Rudra did. She couldn't even imagine how much it would have broken them if they were parted, if even one of them wasn't around for long, which in turn would have broken the family.
And apart from that, she had her selfish reasons. She couldn't imagine what she would do without her heera-jaisa beta. She knew that even when she heard Anika narrate the story, or Shakti commit to his doings, she didn't feel anything negative towards Shivaay. Only she felt that she had lost a part of her yet, Shivaay completed a major part of her life. He had her upbringing instilled within him and she knew he loved her, only didn't respect her. She had always blamed herself for the respect she couldn't acquire but the idea of Shivaay leaving her was ridiculous.

The Oberois sat together for lunch, all in their places, only Janhavi and Shakti had exchanged their places. Shakti sat beside his elder brother, both of them a little aloof from the rest of the family.
Everyone seemed extremely happy, sharing their share of stories and anecdotes. There was a grief that loomed but they managed to shake it off. They had their Great Wall Of Shivaay, his support in form of his ever-present brothers and his wife who stood there like a shield in front of the wall. This was the way it was supposed to be.
As they were done with the lunch, Shivaay stopped Pinky. She raised her eyebrows in queseven though she knew what he wanted to talk about.
"Mom-" "Shivaay, I know what you want to talk about. But we could talk a little later maybe? I need a little time. I only want you to know that you are my son, and no one can change that. I love you beta." She smiled and ran a hand through his hair, which even Shivaay didn't mind.
Anika smiled as she overheard them. She was wrong. This snap of truth wasn't powerful enough to exhaust the sun or overpower a mother's love. And then, it was Shivaay Singh Oberoi in picture. Maybe things have to twist themselves when it is his family in question.

Thank you so much for reading it through. I am updating about 2 months later. If my readers still read thus, I am extremely thankful :)
You guys are amazing for all those comments you left for me. I was under a writer's block for three week, working through it. I am sorry for the delay in all the updates. I hope this update wasn't that bad. Maybe it seemed fast-paced or random. Let me know what made you happy and what made you question my sanity.
I added OBros but the fact that Shivaay didn't know if it would be the same for them was what stopped me from letting them explain stuff for him. I added the translation for that one dialogue because for me, the words were more powerful in Hindi but since the forum and my story is accessible to a lot of people, I added the translation. :)
Let me know how it was.
Like if you find it nice.
Cheers,
Krishi ❤️
P.S. Do tell me how it was on the emotional front. That is something I want to know how good I am at it.
