Shivaay TS - Naam
ft. ShivOmRu / ShivIka

Broke. One word that described his state like no other. He was broken mentally and defeated physically as well as psychologically. He wasn't the one to believe any random woman, but something about her made him believe everything she said. Shivaay stumbled to his car parked outside the warehouse.

"Shivaay!" Anika's voice sounded distant. He wanted to make sure she wasn't uncomfortable. She had his child in her womb. But he couldn't take it. He sat in the car and drove off, his destination unknown to him.

-
The Oberois were all in the hall. They were waiting for Shivaay and Anika to return. It was more than obvious Shivaay had taken Anika somewhere to keep her happy. They were having a gala evening when Anika rushed into the door, panting.
"Anika Bhabhi?" Rudra's worried tone made all of them look at the doorway.

Anika was walking towards them when her steps faltered. If it not had been for Om and Rudra she might have slipped and would have had a bad fall.

-
Anika's eyes adjusted to her surroundings as she came to her consciousness.

"Shivaay?" she immediately sat up. The look of panic on her face was enough to have the whole family worried.

"Kya hua Anika? Shivaay kahan hai?" On asked trying to keep off the worry. Maybe Shivaay had left Anika alone for some extremely important meeting, even though the chances were none.

"Woh Om..." Anika gulped and looked at all the Oberois. They had more secrets than her little brain could imagine. "Subah Shivaay ko ek call aaya tha." She said and launched into her tale.

Shivaay had been teasing his wife when his phone rang. He had considered throwing it away but when he remembered Anika's last mood swing he shook his head and picked it up.
"Shivaay Singh Oberoi?" a sweet yet old voice spoke through the other end.

"Who is this?" Shivaay sensed something wrong already.
"Mujhe tumse milna hai." The woman commanded, no fear of what ordering Shivaay Singh Oberoi around might result in.
"Aapko aisa kyu lagta hai ki main aapse milne aaunga?" His voice sounded scary already. The woman was definitely treading on thin ice.

"Mrs. Kapoor ne jab tumhe tumhari Daima se milaya, toh baat adhuri si thi, tumhe nahi lagta? Main sab kuch jaanti hun, tumhe bata sakti hun." This was enough to have Shivaay agree to her. They confirmed a place to meet.

"Kiska phone tha Shivaay?" Anika asked. There was a sudden change in her husband's mood which was quite visible.
"Kuch nahi Anika. Mujhe ek important kaam se bahar jaana hai." Shivaay picked his phone, wallet and car keys.

"Mujhe bhi saath chalna hai." Anika placed her request quite stubbornly. If it would have been the Shivaay she had met, he would have pushed her off. This Shivaay, standing in front of her, was a completely different man. She had seen his care for those he loved, mainly comprising his family, his brothers to be precise. This family was a very big part of his identity, his character, his ideals and his beliefs.

"Okay fine." Shivaay agreed. It had always been pointless arguing with her. When he accepted her as an Oberoi, she had taken a lot of his tadi and equalized it and now that she had a little Oberoi along with her, her mood swings were one thing that scared even Shivaay Singh Oberoi who was not scared of anything before.

Shivaay and Anika drove off to one of the Oberois' old warehouse which wasn't used after Shivaay turned 7. Quite a strange place to meet.
When they arrived there, Anika was about to get down when Shivaay stopped her. "Anika, you'll have to stay here. Please. I am not sure if it is safe inside." Shivaay tentatively tried making her understand.

"And what makes you think, ki agar jagah safe nahi hai toh main aapko akele jaane dungi?" Anika raised her eyebrow and shook her head.
"Anika please, tumhare saath humare bache ki bhi safety important hai. I won't let you risk it's life as well."

"Shivaay, aapko pata hai main nahi man ne wali, toh try kyu kar rahe hai?" Anika raised her eyebrow yet again.
"Oh god! Theek hai." Shivaay gave in exasperatedly.
Anika just gave him a smile that made his lips turn upwards instantly. This woman had some magic on him, he couldn't quite understand.

Shivaay took one of her hands in his and slid his other hand around her waist, helping her through the maze of a warehouse. Suddenly, they came across a woman, sitting on a chair with her back towards them.
"Main aa gaya." Shivaay used his Oberoi voice that meant business.

When she turned, Anika looked at her in surprise. She had met this lady in the market only a few days ago.
"Arey aap?" Anika iimmediately said.
"Tum?" The woman smiled warmly at Anika.
"You know her?" Shivaay looked at his wife in confusion.

"Arey Shivaay, woh main na mere purane ghar wale market gayi thi. Wahan pe mujhe yeh aunty mili. Maine inki aankhe dekhi toh aapki yaad a gayi. Toh main jhat-se inke paas gayi aur inhe bataya ki mere pati ki bhi aankhe bilkul inke jaisi hai." Anika grinned.

"Tum market gayi thi? Kyu? Aur gayi bhi thi toh kissi se bhi kuch bhi baat kar leti ho?" Shivaay looked at his wife in confusion. She was an Oberoi. Which Oberoi visited marketplaces? And talking to strangers? Unacceptable!

"Shivaay please! Main-" but before Anika could continue, the woman asked in aamazement, "Yeh tumhara pati hai?"
Anika warmly smiled at the woman. "Jee haan, yahi hai mere Billuji."

"Billuji?" Both Shivaay and the woman asked together.
"Haan, main inhe pyaar se Billuji bulati hun." Anika smiled like a love-struck teenage girl.

"Tum har kissi ko jaakar kehti ho ki tumhare pati ka naam Billu hai?" Shivaay looked at her in shock. Was she for real?
"Haan." Anika gave him a simpler smile this time. She noticed the woman looking at both of them the way Pinky aunty, Janhavi aunty or even Dadi looked at them. An emotion that Anika couldn't quite understand when they looked at her like this. She had assumed it to be another Oberoi thing.

"Anika! Seriously?" It was then that he remembered that there was a woman with them. Someone who supposedly knew the truth behind Om's alleged illegitimacy.
"Aapne mujhe yaha kisi kaam se bulaya tha." Shivaay stated, meaning business only.

"Tum Pinky Singh Oberoi ke bete nhi ho." Was the only thing the woman could say before Anika had to support a shocked Shivaay.
"Aap yeh kya keh rahi hai?" Anika asked. Shivaay's biggest pride was being a blue blood. Clearly stating that he wasn't his mother's son was like an axe cutting it's way through his heart.

"Mujhe pata hai tum dono meri baat nahi manoge par yahi sach hai. Meri baat samjho. Iss se accha koi samay nahi hai Shivaay ko yeh sachai batane ka." The woman's voice was quavering already.

"Just shut up!" Shivaay's hard voice resonated through the walls of the warehouse.

"Meri baat suno. Tumhare sachai jaan na bohot zaroori hai." The woman was clearly trying her best to keep herself from bursting into tears. "Shadi se pehle, Shakti Singh Oberoi ka Mr. Kapoor ki behen ke saath affair tha."

"Dekhiye auntyji, aapko galat fehmi ho gayi hai. Papaji aisa kuch nahi kar sakte." Anika was trying to keep calm. Shivaay was already shivering even if only slightly.

"Yeh sach hai!" The woman shouted. "Aur jab tak unhe pata chalta ki woh aurat unke bacche ki maa banne wali thi, unhone shaadi kar li thi."

She then explained how the child was born only a month before Pinky and Shakti's child. Shakti Singh Oberoi was guilty, yes, but Tej wouldn't let him accept the kid. Their father would have ousted Shakti from the house. In rage, the woman met Shakti. It even came to her begging him to do something. She had almost made him agree to proclaim her as his child's mother but Tej had come and said a straight no, claiming that it was all her fault. Instead, she was offered funds every month. In a desperate attempt to ensure the best for her own child, the woman stealthily exchanged both the kids.

7 years later, she sent a letter to Shakti. She had confessed what she had done. The child was suffering from dengue and she couldn't afford the treatment. Shakti had been shocked. Before he could go and meet her, Tej met him. When Shakti explained the situation to Tej, the elder brother was furious. Daima had heard all of it. She expected that they would bring the child home at least. That's where she was wrong.

"Woh log iss hi warehouse main woh aurat aur tumhare Bhai se milne aaye the. Tumhare bhai ko saari sacchai pata thi. Usne bohot manane ki koshish ki, par ab kuch bhi karna namumkin tha. Bimari usse dheere dheere kha rahi thi. Par uss raat Tej Singh Oberoi aur Shakti Singh Oberoi ne sirf uss aurat ki maang ko pura karne se inkaar nahi kiya. Woh khooni ban gaye." The woman's eyes were red, her face streaked with tears. Anika herself was in shock. She then looked at Shivaay.

He was on the floor, on his knees. This was one of the only two times she had seen him so vulnerable, on his knees. The other one was when he had asked her to stay, confessing his love. He looked the worst she had ever seen him.
"Aap yeh sab kaise jaanti hai?" Anika asked her.

The woman turned away. "Main hi hoon." The woman calmly replied and went away.

Anika's eyes went wide. She bent down to Shivaay's level.
"Shivaay, dekhiye please, meri taraf dekhiye! Shivaay, aisa bhi ho sakta hai ki woh aurat jhoot bol rahi ho. Dekhiye Shivaay, aap aise nahi toot sakte. Aap toh kanji aankho wale, mahan Shivaay Singh Oberoi hai na?" Anika was afraid of this vulnerable Shivaay more than she feared the angry one.

"Wahi toh pakka nahi hai na, Anika?" was all he said before he rushed out. He sat, in his car and drove off, leaving a scared Anika behind, shouting his name.

Hey guys!
While everyone is having different takes on the illegitimacy, here is the idea that came to me. I am not sure if Gul's mind runs like mine (most probably not 😆), but I would love something like this to happen. It's what a lot of you believe only with a few changes. This TS is like a blow to the character of Shivaay Singh Oberoi. I hope it isn't half bad as I expect it to come out. Not my style to write something of this sort.

It's quite dramatic and I have no experience with that so I would love to know what went wrong. This is a three shot probably, depending on whether I am able to complete it in 2, 3 or 4.
A lot of the past will be explained later on. This is mainly a story on Shivaay so it will be about his emotions and his relations.
Comment what you like/hate. Criticism is extremely appreciated (positively 😛)

Cheers,
Krishi ❤️

P.S. If you did notice, I have tried putting a lot of emphasis on the fact that being an Oberoi was Shivaay's biggest achievement somehow. Hope you got that hint. ;)

Shivaay TS - Naam
Ft. ShivOmRu / ShivIka
Part 2
Anika looked at the family members. Om's face was expressionless, yet his eyes had millions. Rudra looked like someone had punched him hard, all his strength being futile. Anika looked towards Daadi who would have fallen if not for Priyanka. Priyanka stood, trying to process whatever had happened. She looked at Janhavi aunty who was probably thinking how to handle the one woman whose world had come crashing upon her.

Anika then looked towards Pinky. Her face was blank, no emotion, anger or pain gave away. The woman was staring at Anika, and her eyes became glazed at a point of time. This was what she had been fearing the most. The moment Anika called the driver to come and pick her up, she knew she couldn't let Pinky know this. On her way home, she somehow gathered courage to tell this to Pinky too. The woman had all rights to know. That one child she had carried in her womb for a whole of 9 months, had been killed by his very father. The one child she had brought up wasn't hers. That one child she had all her dreams for, wasn't there with her. Instead, it was the child that marked her husband as a cheater. She had raised Shivaay with all the motherly care and affection. She always wanted the best for him. Now that Anika had this tale told, Pinky was clueless about what her reaction should be.

"Om, Rudra, apne Papa aur Chote Papa ko jaldi ghar bulao." Came Dadi's shaking voice.

"Jee, Dadi." Rudra rushed out and called his father. Om just texted Shakti to come home as soon as possible.

"Par Dadi, hume pehle Shivaay ko dhundna chahiye. Woh bohot hi zyada toote hue honge. Unhone agar gusse main kuch ulta-seedha kar diya toh?" Anika voiced what had been eating her up.

"Aisa karte hain, main aur Rudra try karte hai. Agar Shivaay ka kuch pata chale toh hum aapko bata denge." Om steadily got up and went outside. Anika wanted to go too, but the family won't let her and she could feel her consciousness slipping again.

-
Naam, Khoon, Khaandan. Things that had defined Shivaay's whole life.
He remembered how he had derailed the family that had come for Priyanka's hand. How he had declined every possibility of a blue-blood marrying a ganda khoon.

Why did life play such a big game with him? All his life, he had been living a lie? An illusion? A dream? A cheat? He had the same father, yes. He had the Oberoi blood, yes. But a big loophole here, was that he was illegitimate. His father and mother never married. He was a symbol of their love? He doubted.

His phone rang. Om. He ignored. It rang once again. Rudra.
The final blow struck. He wasn't their proper brother anymore. The other kid, his step-brother, was the one who would have been on the receiving end of these amazing brothers' love. All their O'bro moments were a joke?

He then received a voice mail. Om.

"Shivaay, hume Anika Bhabhi ne sab bata diya. Please ghar aa jaa. We need you. More than that, you need us. Please Shivaay, we'll find the truth. Shivaay please be practical, how can you believe any woman who says such stuff. Please Shivaay..." Om's voice broke.

"Bhaiyaa, please ghar aa jao. Dekho, appka Dumbbell Singh Oberoi aapka wait kar raha hai. Aap mujhe aise chhod ke kaise jaa sakte ho? Cheat day par mujhe khaana kaun banakar dega? Aur Bhaiya, Anika Bhabhi ki health bhi theek nahi hai. Please Bhaiya. Your Rudy is missing you. Secret thappad guess karna bohot easy ho jayega Bhaiya, bilkul challenging nahi rahega. Please wapas aa jao." Rudra only managed to say this before his voice also broke.

Shivaay's eyes were red. Why were they making it difficult? Shouldn't they be repelled or something? He was illegitimate. His mom never got his dad's name. He was like a burden.

Would he have been killed if his position would have been swapped? His father would have showed the same inconsiderate side of his. It was almost like a prank. Shakti Singh Oberoi having an affair, killing a 7 year old, his blue-blood.

Shivaay remembered the times he had degraded Anika because she was not upto his class. He was more like Stupid Singh Oberoi. No. He wasn't an Oberoi, he reminded himself. It was then that a thought struck him. He was not Shivaay Singh Oberoi, neither the last word nor the first.

--
The Oberoi family were all solemnly gathered in the living room. Tej and Shakti had never expected this secret of theirs to come out in the open. They were ashamed of their choices and their decisions, yes. It was one thing that couldn't go back in time and change the events another was that there was nothing left to do.

When the family members told them the events that conspired some time ago, Shakti had almost fainted with shock. Who knew the woman still was alive? Yes he had been attracted to her. It would have evolved into love, maybe, if his parents wouldn't have chosen Pinky with such finality. Shakti knew he would have to get over it for his family name was at stake. All had been well until that night happened. He did not know it would turn into something so big, something that will let guilt eat him up. It was a big mistake on his part to let something take over him. Shakti Singh Oberoi, the man his wife idealized, was a cheater, what with Tej having a mistress.

When the Kapoor sisters had been caught, they confessed that they were there to take revenge for their father. The Oberoi men told that Mr. Kapoor had a car accident, yes, they caused it. But Indirectly. He had been furiously talking to them and in anger decided to take Tej's car to the Oberoi Mansion. What he didn't know, Tej's car was a little messed up. The accident happened. Obviously they weren't caught.

Now that Shivaay's illegitimacy was out, the picture became clearer. Mr. Kapoor was furious when he came to know about his sister and Shakti. Who wouldn't be? He had decided that he would let Pinky know the truth. He wanted his sister to have her rights. The boy who was lost couldn't be brought back. Neither could he bring back his broken sister. She had brought up the other child with much love and care, only not the Oberoi way. She had spent as much time as Pinky had spent with her son. Shakti had to provide her with the rights.

-
Pinky had been quiet all along. She had always asked her Jethaniji to stand up for what was right. Now that it was her turn, she was confused. What was she supposed to say? She even ised to taunt Janhavi initially. At least, Jethji did not have a son. Nor did he go around killing any of his children. Her husband was such a man of dignity. The pride that came with a husband who would listen to her and only scold her when she was wrong, had such an interesting past. This one truth was enough to shatter everything. The foundation of their marriage had been Shakti's quiet nature, that shone with decency. Why did he have to marry her? It would have made her life easier.

She was shattered. She remembered how they had been shocked when the child that was born had brown eyes but when they found him the next day, he had green. At first, Pinky was surprised but of course, Shivaay's eye colour also changed according to his mood and this miniscule detail went unquestioned.

Her thoughts then moved to the brown eyed baby she had given birth to. The symbol of her and Shakti's marriage... and fake love? The boy she had kissed on his forehead for the first time in his life was different than the boy she ran after every day. The boy that she loved, cared for and could die for was not hers. In fact, the boy wasn't the one who was supposed to go by the name Shivaay Singh Oberoi. His name would have been what her actual son was named.

All this, she would have accepted. Maybe. But the fact that her husband had been irresponsible towards their child? How was she supposed to forgive him for that. She felt like there was no one to support her anymore. Her Shivaay wasn't hers and she didn't find it in her to forgive or trust her husband. Her son had died a painful death while she was here at the Oberoi mansion, pampering someone else, while unknown to her, her son had died. Why didn't Shakti Ji just provide that woman with money. Lots of money. Pinky never questioned him about the accounts or anything. At least she could have met her son. Seen how he was doing. It would have given her some pleasure.

She collapsed on the sofa, her sight unwavering. The family members surrounded her. Tried bringing her back into the world where her fate had defeated her.

Suddenly, Prinku, who had brought a glass of water, gasped audibly. Om and Rudra rushed in carrying an unconscious Shivaay. Anika followed her gaze and got up hurriedly. She rushed towards Shivaay.

"Om, Rudra, please take him to our room." Anika pleaded them. They nodded and set him down on the bed.

Pinky stood up. "Main kamre main jaa rahi hhun. Mujhe kissi se kuch bhi baat nahi karni." Her voice made it clear that she was in no mood for either any consolation or even to talk.

She needed time and everyone knew that they would have to leave her alone. Whether they like it or not. Anika would have been okay with it if Pinky would have slammed the news saying it was Anika's ploy or something. Seeing her fierce mother-in-law quiet was troubling her.

She thought to handle this later. Shivaay also needed her the same. She rushed to their room.
"Om, Rudra, yeh aise?.." Anika's voice faltered.

"Don't worry Bhabhi, he's only drunk. We found him in his car at the highway entry." Om assured that Shivaay wasn't hurt. Not physically at least.

"Main inke hangover ka ilaaj laati hun. Tum dono yahi ruko." Saying so, she walked out of the room.

Shivaay was coming to, when Rudra saw him moving. He rushed to Shivaay and sat on the edge of his bed. When Shivaay slowly opened his eyes, Rudra punched him on the chest. Neither playfully not harshly. Just trying to punish Shivaay for always trying to be The Great Wall.

Shivaay groaned in response. "Bhaiya, yeh aapki punishment. Aapko problem hoti hai toh aap hume bata nahi sakta na. Bas O'bro code todte rehte ho. Agar Anika Bhabhi aapke saath nahi hoti, toh aap aise hi gayab ho jaate, humare baare main th socha hi nahi. Matlab aap hume trust toh nahi kar sakte na." Rudra frowned while his eyes had welled up.

Shivaay did not know what he was supposed to say. The brothers were being enveloped in silence. Suddenly Shivaay groaned loudly, holding his head tightly with both his hands. Om just shook his head in disappointment. "Shivaay..." "Om please. Yeh sab.." Shivaay's voice hitched. How much ever he tried, his words were stuck in his throat. He knew that if he tried speaking more, he would break down, which he didn't want to do.

"Shivaay, are you mad?" Om asked silently, not in a way such a question was to be asked. "Huh?" was all Shivaay could manage.

"Tu humara bhai hai. You really think tu hume aise hi chhod kar jaa sakta hai. I know tujhe lag raha hoga ki family pe burden ban raha hai, ya Choti Maa ko problem hogi but Shivaay, we don't care. It was you who we love, you who protected us, you who cared for us. She spent her time with you, showered all her love, care, concern on you. The bond that you have made with everyone cannot be broken by this knowledge. How does it matter? You are an Oberoi, if that's what irks you, does not let you stay with us. Tu yeh baat sunn le aur samajh le, tu Oberoi hai, tu mera Shivaay hai, Rudra ka Shivaay Bhaiya hai, family ka Great Wall of Shivaay Singh Oberoi hai, Dadi ka Billu hai. I, for one, do not care which blood runs in your veins."

"That's that point Om." Shivaay softly said after a few minutes of deadly silence. "Tumhe nahi farak padta, par mujhe padta hai. It was my ideal tha blood, lineage, legitimacy, matters."

"It was.." Rudra muttered. "It was, kyuki yeh ab matter nahi karta. Aapne Anika Bhabhi ko apni wife banaya, unke paas bhi khoon khaandan nahi tha. Aapne kaha tha na ki aapka pyaar kaafi tha, aapka bharosa kaafi tha. Fir kyu Bhaiya? Hum aapse pyaar karte hain. Hum aap par bharosa karte hain. How does it matter agar aap Choti Maa ke bete nahi ho. Unhone toh aapko humesha pyaar diya na. Wih aapki kitni chinta karti hain. Aapki har khushi main khush hoti hai. Aap unse baat nahi karte tha, toh dukhi hoti thi. Aapke peeche pura din guzaar leti thi."

"Rudra unhe sacchai nahi malum thi. Ab she won't accept me. Main culprit hoon. It is al my fault. I should have been dead that day. Not him. He was innocent. Not at fault. It is all my fault." As he said this, he grew hysterical. He started murmuring it again and again. "Meri galti. Mujhe marna chahiye tha. Meri galti. Mujhe marna chahiye tha." Shivaay pulled at his hair in frustration.
Rudra looked at Om in panic who had the same expression as him. Om hugged Shivaay from one side while Rudra hugged him from the other. Rudra started running his hand on Shivaay's back soothingly while Om gently rubbed his hands on his face and in his hair. Om and Rudra were both nodding their head negatively, denying that it was Shivaay's fault by any chance.

Anika had been watching them since long. It broke her to see Shivaay this way. What had happened to the man she knew? Shivaay's vulnerability was nerve wrecking. It was scary, to put it easily. Shivaay Singh Oberoi had lost things that mattered to him. She knew he didn't care for things. It must be the thought of loosing the people that mattered to him. All they needed was to assure him that it doesn't matter to them. But then, was it true? Along with Shivaay. her mother-in-law was to be considered. The women of the family. Would they accept Shivaay? She doubted that they won't. They love him because of who he is not what he is. At least she does and was more than sure others do. Yes, they do.

Shivaay Singh Oberoi, was broken, woken from the delusion of his. It was like a binding decision. They won't accept him and he can't stand it. So he had to move out. He would not be able to see their disgusted glances thrown towards him, would not be able to listen to Pinky disowning him. It was obvious.

There you go. Finally an update for this. Sorry for dragging. The final chapter will take time but will be up sooner or later.

Comments on this? Finaly writing some emotional stuff for Ishqbaaz. Never got any chance. But well, here is a genre that I enjoy writing... Not happy enjoy, more of satisfactory joy.

Put any criticism for this part, I am taking it just like I would take for anything I write.

Waiting for your thoughts on this,
Krishi ❤️

Shivaay TS - Naam
Ft. ShivOmRu / ShivIka
Part 3

Shivaay had sent Om and Rudra away, asking for some time. They had unwillingly complied.
Anika entered the room to find Shivaay sitting in darkness, his face covered in his hands. His hair was disheveled, his eyes were red. This wasn't the Shivaay Anika knew. She slowly walked towards him and placed her hands on his shoulders.
"Shivaay meri taraf dekhiye" Anika softly called out. When he looked up, Anika's strength and courage shook. The man who she had seen for so long, never scared of anything, standing as the great wall, looked so broken. It was like someone had finally managed to shake the foundations of this wall. But hadn't she promised him, 2 years back, that she will always stand as a support for this wall, never let it down.

"Anika..." Shivaay's broken voice called out to her. He hugged her fiercely. Anika caressed his back, his hair. She breathed calmly and tried soothing him only with her presence. This was something she didn't know how she would handle. "Shivaay, aap ek sachai se itna darr gaye? Aap toh kisi bhi cheez se nahi darte na?" Anika smiled painfully.

"Woh Shivaay Singh Oberoi tha." He replied.
"Shivaay aisa mat kahiye. Aap abhi bhi SSO hain." Anika's voice was breaking.
"Nahi Ani-" before he could continue, Anika placed her palm on his lips. Shushed him, and continued, "Khoon se rishtein nahi bante Shivaay. Iss parivaar ne aap ko kitna kuch diya hai. Itni si baat ke liye aap inn sabko chhod denge?"

"Anika yeh itni si baat nahi. It's not small." Shivaay muttered.

"Shivaay, yeh aapka parivaar hai. How can you do this? By choosing to go away, you are cheating on them, on the love they showered on you all your life. Dekhiya Shivaay, inn 3 saalon main, jabse main inhein janti hun, aap sab ko, inhone humesha aapki chinta ki, aapse pyaar kiya. Ab ek sacchai aapke rishto ko jhutla nahi sakti."

"Anika you say this because you aren't in my place."

"Agar aap meri jagah hote aur main aapki, toh aap yahi kehte. Sahil ke paida hone se pehle mujhe uske mom dad ne ghar laya. Sahil ko toh yeh hi pata tha ki main uski behen hun. Jab 5 saal ka hua, toh uske parents ka accident ho gaya. Buaji ne usse keh diya ki main uski behen nahi toh kya Sahil ne mujhe apne se duur kar diya? Humara rishta khoon ke rishte se bada hai. Shivaay, Om aur Rudra ko sacchai malum hui toh aap ke liye fikr kam nahi hui. Aap agar inhein chhod kar chale gaye toh toot jayenge. Inka khayal kaun rakhega? Aap ke liye khoon mayne rakhta tha, shayad ab bhi rakh raha hai. Par sach batau, inke loya nahi hai iski koi zaroorat. Unke liye aap important ho. Aapki lineage nahi."

[If you had been in my place, you would have said the same things, right? I was adopted by Sahil's parents before he was even born. He had known me as his sister all along until he turned five and his parents died in the accident. Buaji couldn't contain herself, and in an attempt to throw me out of his life, she told him that I wasn't his sister. But did Sahil throw me out? Did he stop calling me his sister? No! Because the bond that we shared was more important than the blood we didn't. Even after they came to know about this, Om and Rudra cared for you. Rudra cried in concern for you. Shivaay, if you leave them, they'll break into pieces. You will shatter their lives. Blood and lineage might matter to you, might be important to you, it isn't the same for them. You matter to them, not your blood.]

"That's the point Anika. It matters to me. All my life, I flaunted the very fact that I was an Oberoi. I derailed so many people only because they weren't blue bloods. I said so many things to Dev, to you Anika, to you." Shivaay hid his face in his palms.

"But you accepted me Shivaay. You learnt it the hard way that generalized opinions don't work. And these people, talk to then Shivaay, and tell me, who do you think won't accept you? They lpve you for who you are, not what you are."

"Do you think Mo-" he stopped mid-way. What was he supposed to address her as? At this realisation, a new wave of guilt and anxiety washed over him. He remembered all those times when he had ignored her, didn't thought of her as his mom, was ashamed that she couldn't speak English. And she, she had tried to learn English for him, did everything she could so that he was happy. He sighed in frustration. He had been an idiot all his life.

Sensing the directions of her husband's thoughts, Anika cupped his face. Nodding negatively, she helped him get up and made him lie on the bed. Shivaay sat up a little, his head against the headboard and when Anika was about to go bring him some water, he held her hands tightly.

"Promise me Anika, you won't leave me. You will accept me. You will not leave my side. Please Anika. Please." Shivaay's eyes were glistening with tears.
The fatigue in his voice, the haunting thoughts that loomed over him, the tears in his eyes pierced Anika's heart. But somewhere she knew Shivaay would rise again, and if he needed her by his side, she will be there. Nodding in a yes with a small upward tilt of her lips she kissed his forehead tenderly. "Promise, Shivaay, I'll support you."

Shivaay closed his eyes with a small smile that vanished in moments. He hugged her fiercely by the waist while Anika ran her hands through his hair, trying to comfort him. They stood there like that for long. It was only in the crack of the dawn that Shivaay realised that he had somehow fallen asleep, even in a situation that shook the ground underneath his feet. His head lay in Anika's lap as she sat uncomfortably throughout the night. As Shivaay shifted a little bit, Anika woke up immediately, despite being the heavy sleeper she was. They both freshened up and Shivaay told her that he had come to a decision.

-
The Oberoi's had been sitting in the living room since night. Even Pinky had managed to come out but maintained her distance with Shakti. Dadi and Janhavi had been by her side whenever she broke down. They, along with Om, Rudra and Priyanka had been trying to make her understand Shivaay's situation to no avail.

Suddenly, Shivaay walked out of the room with Anika by his side. Om and Rudra got up and hugged Shivaay tightly followed by Priyanka who joined their hug.
"How are you Shivaay?" Om asked as he left the hug.
"I am fine." Shivaay answered with no hint of emotion in his voice proving once again that there was no one like him who could put in a mask of indifference, even when everyone knew he was shaken.
"I hope you have come to the right decision Shivaay." Om asked, the hope brimming in his voice.

"Oh My Mata!" Pinky shreiked. "Isse decisions lena ka rights kisne de diya. Woh bhi iss baat par." Everyone present in the room looked at Pinky in shock. Shivaay stood still. Well, now he knew he had taken the right decision. He didn't deserve this family, did he?

"Choti Maa?" Rudra said slowly. "Yeh aap kya keh rahi hai? Obviously Shivaay Bhaiya humare saath rehne wale hain. Or O, Bhaiya ko decision ki choice hi kyu deni hai? Shivaay Bhaiya has no choice. He has to stay here. This is his home, his family. What the hell had happened to you O? We are OBros, for god sake! He can't leave us! What will happen to us?" Rudra's voice broke at each word. He rushed to Shivaay and hugged him. "Bhaiya, tell them that you are staying. No one makes the decisions for Shivaay Singh Oberoi, right? And my Bhaiya will never leave us alone. He is the Great Wall, hai na?"

Shivaay stood still, his eyes fixated on the woman he called his mother. Her eyes were red, but yet again, she was one human whose emotions Shivaay never did understand. Rudra started shaking Shivaay by his shoulders. "Bhaiya! Bhaiya? C'mon, answer Bhaiya!" At that, Rudra's eye watered and he broke. Om rushed to his side, hugging him and Shivaay.

"Anika Bhabhi, please make Bhaiya speak. I don't know, did you guys have an argument? Haan, O." Rudra tried to smile. "Iss liye Shivaay Bhaiya is so quiet. Anika Bhabhi must have had a mood swing and they must have fought." Anika fought back a sob. She had never seen all Oberois delicate all at once. This scene that was in front of her eyes was heart breaking. It was like the Sun of their Solar System was about to get exhausted. Without doubt, she knew that this sun will take away all their happiness like the sunlight. And not only them, Shivaay would suffer as well. What would he do without those around whom his life revolved. Funnily enough, all of him also revolved around these stars that brightened him up, especially Om and Rudra. She was sure none of them would be the same. Then why was Pinky aunty bot thinking twice. Just because Shivaay turns out to be her step-son, everything she did for him, all the pride she felt for him, all the love, attention and care she showered on him, was all of it forgotten just because of a mere truth. Wow! Truth had never been so powerful to over power a mother's love. She looked shakily at Shivaay. His world was about to break. She promised to herself that she will help him gather himself, no matter what.

Taking a deep breath, Shivaay sighed. "I don't know what to say. I should probably thank you all for having me here so long. Om, Rudra, Bade Papa, Badi Maa, Dadi..." he paused, "Dad and Mo-" he stopped this time. In no time, Pinky was standing in front of Shivaay. Before he could say anything, she placed a tight slap on his face.

Everyone looked at Pinky in horror. "Teri himmat kaise hui haan?" Shivaay looked down guilty.
"Apni maa ko yun hi paraya kar diya." Once again everyone's heads turned in Pinky's direction ever though they had hardly moved them. Shivaay's expression morphed. Everything that he had held cam out, the dam of his control broke. Pinky hugged Shivaay fiercely.

"What do you thinks haan? Ab tu mujhe apni Moms bhi nahi bolega." She said, slapping him slightly on his head. "Pagal!"

Shivaay looked up at her and everyone saw a smile on his face that they hadn't seen since forever. He hugged her again and everyone witnessed a 4 year old Shivaay again when he had seen his mom after almost a year.

"Rudra, Om." Pinky called out.
"Jee Choti Maa!" The brothers replied with mirth flowing in their voices.
"Agar abhi apne iss bewakoof bhai ko keh diya hota toh yeh toh besharam ghar chhod kar na chala jata. Total idiots." They chuckled and nodded their heafs in excitement.

"Ab tum Junior OBros aise hi khade rahige ki humare liye accha sa kuch khaane ko banoge? Go cooks!" Pinky pulled Rudra's cheeks who looked at her in shock. "Choti Ma?! I am not a kid anymore."

"Haan haan, you are no childs anymore." Pinky grinned and walked to her room.

Om and Rudra hugged Shivaay tightly. "Dekha! Choti Maa ne prove kar diya woh aapki mom kyu hain!" Rudra hugged and kissed Shivaay.

Om smirked while Shivaay gave Rudra a weird look. "Kya?" Rudra frowned. "Yeh toh senti hi tha na!" He whined. To his and Om's surprise, Shivaay kissed Rudra on his cheek.
Rudra's face glowed like it was an early Christmas. He dragged Om and Shivaay to the kitchen, not before asking Saumya to bring both his Bhabhis along.

-
Pinky Singh Oberoi smiled as she stood behind the pillar. She had finally managed to do something that was actually of benefit of the family, didn't she? She wondered what would have happened if she had gone the path that her anger was leading her to. She had observed Shivaay for long last night. Him with his brothers and then Anika. It had taken her sometime but she understood what Om, Rudra and Anika meant. Shivaay was one of the biding factors who bound the OBros as much as Om and Rudra did. She couldn't even imagine how much it would have broken them if they were parted, if even one of them wasn't around for long, which in turn would have broken the family.

And apart from that, she had her selfish reasons. She couldn't imagine what she would do without her heera-jaisa beta. She knew that even when she heard Anika narrate the story, or Shakti commit to his doings, she didn't feel anything negative towards Shivaay. Only she felt that she had lost a part of her yet, Shivaay completed a major part of her life. He had her upbringing instilled within him and she knew he loved her, only didn't respect her. She had always blamed herself for the respect she couldn't acquire but the idea of Shivaay leaving her was ridiculous.

-
The Oberois sat together for lunch, all in their places, only Janhavi and Shakti had exchanged their places. Shakti sat beside his elder brother, both of them a little aloof from the rest of the family.

Everyone seemed extremely happy, sharing their share of stories and anecdotes. There was a grief that loomed but they managed to shake it off. They had their Great Wall Of Shivaay, his support in form of his ever-present brothers and his wife who stood there like a shield in front of the wall. This was the way it was supposed to be.

As they were done with the lunch, Shivaay stopped Pinky. She raised her eyebrows in queseven though she knew what he wanted to talk about.

"Mom-" "Shivaay, I know what you want to talk about. But we could talk a little later maybe? I need a little time. I only want you to know that you are my son, and no one can change that. I love you beta." She smiled and ran a hand through his hair, which even Shivaay didn't mind.

Anika smiled as she overheard them. She was wrong. This snap of truth wasn't powerful enough to exhaust the sun or overpower a mother's love. And then, it was Shivaay Singh Oberoi in picture. Maybe things have to twist themselves when it is his family in question.

Thank you so much for reading it through. I am updating about 2 months later. If my readers still read thus, I am extremely thankful :)
You guys are amazing for all those comments you left for me. I was under a writer's block for three week, working through it. I am sorry for the delay in all the updates. I hope this update wasn't that bad. Maybe it seemed fast-paced or random. Let me know what made you happy and what made you question my sanity.
I added OBros but the fact that Shivaay didn't know if it would be the same for them was what stopped me from letting them explain stuff for him. I added the translation for that one dialogue because for me, the words were more powerful in Hindi but since the forum and my story is accessible to a lot of people, I added the translation. :)

Let me know how it was.
Like if you find it nice.
Cheers,
Krishi ❤️

P.S. Do tell me how it was on the emotional front. That is something I want to know how good I am at it.
