Personally , I am very very jealous of your skills as I recently in the last 2-3 years discovered my passion for writing and I can only wish I was 1/4th that good. But before than a writer I am a reader and I absolutely crave stories ,novels, poems whatever I can get. And trust me, when I say this your writing is just... I really don't know what to say ! You are just that GOOD . I don't really know about the show (right now) but I am really glad that I opened Ishqbaaaz forum to discover such brilliant writers. Amazing story really ! And thank you so much for providing us relief from those nafratbaaz episodes.BTW I am obsessed with this story , kindly end my pain by updating so that I don't have to stalk the forum every second. DRABBLE 3B: YOU SHALL NOT ATTEND SOCIETY EVENTS

"Rudra I swear to God, if you don't let me enter Shivaay's suite to find out what the hell is going on, I am going to do something violent. Not one of you-- not Om, not Soumya not you, have been downstairs at the garden party all evening. Its almost over. I've noticed you all running around, so clearly you are all fine. NOT ONE person seems ill. The party is in full swing. Guests are here, dinner is being served. And all Tej Uncle will say about the CEO of Oberoi Industries, Mr Shivaay Singh Oberoi, missing his own party is-- "unexpected emergency" and "close family member is sick" and "I'm sure Shivaay will be right down. Enjoy the party."

But which close family member is SSO missing his own event for?

His wife, Mrs Tia Singh Oberoi is wandering around downstairs, looking perfectly fine, though no one is giving her much attention. I felt bad for her, After all, jaise bhi hai, Shivaay ka choice hai, suna hai pregnant bhi hai. I had to beg Siddharth to keep her company. She doesn't even seem to notice Shivaay is missing..or care, as long as she can flirt with my husband. Its disgusting, but ok. Fine. I didn't ask her anything. Pinky Aunty and Janvi Aunty are hosting, Dadi is down there, even Shakti Uncle is outside, with the guests. No one is missing. So where the hell is Shivaay? And why won't you let me into his room? What are you guarding?

"Let her in, Rudra. Ghar ka hai. Un dono ka dost hai. Janne ka haq hai."

Mallika Vickram Rana turned to see Omkara come out of Shivaay's bedroom. Rudra, who had been standing in front of that very door, arms folded, now stepped aside. Mallika rushed in, and then stood stock still, mouth open, gaping at the sight in front of her. Her vocal chords had gone for a vacation, but her reflexes were still excellent. So when Shivaay blindly threw a small projectile right at her feet, Mallika jumped like a gazelle, avoiding it as Shivaay roared "Where the HELL is the new thermometer? Rudra, go get me a new one! This one can't be right, it still says her fever is 101 degrees! "

***********************************************************
"Bade Bhaiya, please shant ho jaiye. Doctor Khanna said the medicine will take 4-6 hours to fully work. Didi's temperature has already dropped, naa? Hosh mei bhi hai." Soumya, looking harassed, stood by the bed. She handed Shivaay another cold compress as he tossed a warmer one towards her, wiping down the mummified, wrapped figure on the bed.

"Shivaay, aap neeche jaiye na. The party is for your guests. I am fine. Me ab thik hu. Mei ye sab kar lungi.." said a small, weak voice from the bed. Shivaay had still not turned around to see who had come in. Mallika stayed silent, too stunned after recognizing that voice, to be able to say a word. But the silence didn't last. At Anika's words, the sound of grinding teeth came from the disheveled maniac sitting on the edge of his own bed.

Dressed in a sweaty shirt with his suit jacket hanging open, Shivaay's hair stood on end, proof of the number of times he had run his hands through it. His shirt sleeves were rolled up, his eyes bloodshot and his skin almost waxen with tension. Now, he balanced an ice pack onto Anika's head, ignored her pleading eyes and tenderly rubbed the cold compresses on his wife. Om had come back in, and walking past Mallika, he handed another blanket to Shivaay.

After covering Anika with it, rolling it around her until she was a human burrito, Shivaay spoke, through clenched teeth:
"Tum chup raho. EKDUM chup. Aur kuch bhi kaha na, I swear to GOD Anika, I will kill you myself. This afternoon ki tara suicide karne ka opportunity bhi nahi dungi. KHUD maar dalungi. Samji tum! Chup karo! Thik hu...khud kaar lungi..."

Muttering under his breath, still completely focused on his patient, Shivaay shifted slightly, running the wet cloth down one slender arm and across a creamy throat. That was when Mallika finally got a glimpse of the patient, and Anika spotted her close friend, standing at the doorway, gaping at her like a landed fish. Her eyes widened, she smiled at Mallika, before catching herself and shooting a warning look at Shivaay.

He finally turned, and when he saw Mallika's stunned face, Shivaay casually said
"Oh, you've come upstairs? Accha hua. You are really the only person I wanted to meet. Anika is sick, she can't come down, so I won't be joining the party. Come to the bed and see her, but don't get her excited or help her to get off the bed, or I'll throw you out, like I did to Rudra."

************************************************************
Shivaay didn't care anymore if their entire contingent of invited guests trooped upstairs right now, to find him with his actual wife. He couldn't bear to leave his bed, much less go downstairs to entertain random people who his Bade Papa had invited. What the hell did any of that matter? She was sick. Ignoring the soft pleas coming from his wife, the warning pinch on his arm, he gestured to Anika, now wrapped snugly enough to please him. Mallika came forward, to plop down next to Shivaay, looking first at his face, then at Anika's fever flushed one.

As he started stroking his wife's embarrassed face, tenderly moving damp tendrils from her cheeks, Shivaay went on-- "Look at what this idiot has done to herself. She's been sick all day, and ran around doing these stupid party preparations, and passed out from high fever. No one knew she was missing for two whole hours. She was lying outside in the woods, anything could have happened to her."

A pause followed this, while Shivaay turned to glower at Rudra, Soumya and Omkara, who wisely stayed silent under his accusing glare. The fact that all of them had been busy with this evening's preparations, was something one didn't tell Shivaay twice. Not when he was yelling at his entire family for almost killing his to-be-ex-wife. Pinky had tried to justify herself, and had gotten such a blistering response, it had taken Janvi two hours to soothe her Jethani's tears. Everyone had paid for their negligence. Every last Oberoi was doing their best out there at the party tonight, so they didnt have to deal with Shivaay Singh Oberoi in this, his craziest avatar. So, like before, the siblings and Soumya, too, stayed quiet, and let him rant.

"But I knew, naturally. I found her this evening, at 4:00. I cannot believe it, but no one saw her, unconscious, outside in the garden. I came home early, I knew she'd done something extra stupid to herself. I just knew it. All day long, things just felt off, you know? So of course when I called Anika and my wife didn't answer, I expected something crazy. But this? In a house full of people? Who wanders off to the farthest point of the estate when they can't even walk straight from high fever? Who works like a dummy, while suffering from high fever? This is a level of stupidity that's only possible if you are Anika Singh Oberoi. Unconscious. Burning up. Barely six hours ago. And now she wants me to go downstairs, to attend a dinner party. No one else is this mad, sach mei. But I'm glad you stopped by, Mallika. Siddharth Vikram Rana bhi aya? Dinner ho gaya? Enjoy the party."

"Anika...Singh Oberoi? Your...wife?" Mallika had caught the only relevant part of Shivaay's tirade. Anika was looking trapped and shy, Rudra could barely keep his chuckles silent, while Om smiled and went to help a grinning Soumya pick up pieces of thermometers and phones that littered Shivaay's floor.

"Yes. She's my wife. Obviously." Shivaay casually dropped the bombshell as he frowned at a scratch Anika had gotten on her arm. "Anika is your wife? That's why you are up here? You sensed her sickness, this afternoon, from your office? Things felt off?" Shivaay nodded absently, and turned to find an anti-septic cream for that scratch. "Umm... you know that you already have a wife, Shivaay, right? You don't get two of them. This is Anika, your wedding planner. Remember Tia? About this tall, pregnant with your child? Your marriage to her was all over the news? I know she is kind of...dumb, not exactly the girl you wanted, but.." Mallika said, very carefully.

Maybe he had lost his mind. Maybe this was what all the Oberois were acting so weird over. Maybe Tia's universe and karma crap had finally gotten to Shivaay, and he had snapped. Maybe Anika's panicked eyes meant she was being held here. Locked away in his bedroom, by a rich maniac whose mind had given out, after one too many reiki chants. Poor Shivaay, who had fallen for Anika as far back as Mallika's visit, definitely would be wishing Anika was his wife, not the airhead downstairs. But the Shivaay Singh Oberoi, who Mallika knew was not this madman.

That icily controlled, emotionless businessman did not ignore multimillion dollar business opportunities, to rub ice on his event manager's head. The Shivaay she knew was married, to that moron Tia ...right? Shivaay's brain had probably short circuited from the shock of Tia's stupidity. Poor guy had even decided he could sense Anika, track her, like a bloodhound in love. Had he trapped the girl on his bed, wrapped in enough blankets to prevent her escape?

Mallika turned to the sane Oberoi brothers for help, just to see the two of them clutching each other, roaring with laughter at her expression. Clearly, the fact she thought Shivaay had lost his marbles was written all over her face. Shivaay sensed he was being made fun of, and turned to scowl at his brothers and his ex girlfriend. But then Anika's own delighted roar of laughter instantly took Shivaay's attention away from Mallika, who clearly thought he was insane.

"Why are you laughing? Why are you laughing? Chup karo! Softly laugh karo! Itna energy use math karo! You'll feel more sick! The fever will come back! Soup khao! If you can laugh, you can have the so called ganda wala soup. Soumya, woh lemonade bhi lana!" Shivaay turned away from Mallika, laser focused on his wife, as Anika stopped laughing and sulkily refused to have any more of that "pocha ki ganda pani taste wala" soup. Spoon in hand, Shivaay coaxed his Anika to eat. She again begged him to leave, go downstairs to attend the party he was supposed to be hosting, after all.

********************************************************
Shivaay was irritated. He now forced Anika to finish the soup AND have some lemonade too. As she drank from his hands, he reasonably pointed out-- He had met Mallika, greeted her, asked after Siddharth and told her to have dinner. What more social crap was expected of him, tonight?

Turning away from Anika, focusing for exactly thirty seconds on someone else, Shivaay now said:
"I'm not crazy. Tia is not my wife, that kid she's having is not mine. This silly woman right here is my wife, thank God. This stupid sa one, here, on my bed. It's a long story but I don't have time to fill you in. Rudra, Om and Soumya will tell you everything. Go downstairs, guys. Mallika, I don't need to tell you to keep what you are told to yourself. We are in trouble, and who knows, we might even need your help. Say goodbye to my wife-- Mrs. Anika Singh Oberoi. She will be resting now."

Anika angrily said she would not be resting now, she wanted to spend more time with Mallika. Shivaay ignored her, climbed into bed, grabbed his bundled-up woman and firmly dragged her into his arms. Turning her tired face into his chest, completely uncaring of his audience, Shivaay stroked his wife's hair, murmuring to her, rubbing her back gently until she relaxed into his embrace.

Anika smiled apologetically up to an absolutely fascinated Mallika.
"Next time, Mallika!" Anika feebly promised her friend, her voice muffled by her husband's arms around her. "The very next time we have a dinner party, I will host you and Siddharth Bhaiya myself. Ab nahi a paungi. I'm so sorry, lekhin dekhiye na, meri lakh bolne ke badh bhi Billu-ji bhi nahi jayega, aap ke sath."

Shivaay nodded, clearly not giving a damn, just waiting for them to leave so he could go back to fussing over his wife.

Mallika said her goodbyes to Anika and was escorted out of the room by Rudra and Om. Before they closed the door, they could hear Shivaay on the phone, threatening Dr. Khanna's medical license because his prescription was not showing any immediate change, only a gradual one. Soumya sighed sadly. She would be made to find Bade Bhaiya yet another doctor tonight, she just knew it. Mallika left Soumya in her bedroom, calling her mother's nursing contacts. Rudra and Omkara took Mallika away, to fill her in on the most intriguing, delightful, happy news of her life. And up in Shivaay's room, two people missed out on one of the grandest society parties of the year. One was the illustrious party host, a man of great social prominence, the other was the party planner who had made the society event such a success, in the first place.

And, truthfully? Neither one of them gave a damn.
