I always love reading your posts because I love the crystal clear way that you present your points.
If you think about it, before the whole marriage fiasco, even with all his money and power, Anika has won every argument and Shivaay has never been able to savour a sweet victory after a fight with her. She has made him feel terrible or made him apologize or eat his own words after every spat they have had. Right from her trashing the windshield of his car and slapping his own money back on his face , to challenging him the very next day after he left her crying on the street after giving her a cheque worth 'her price' are examples of this. However, I agree that he has made her suffer terribly in the process. But she does nothing but just breathe and still he loses!!

Now the marriage and the other convoluted tracks running alongside it have just started and the writers have managed to made Shivaay sink to irredeemably low levels so I am hoping it is all done to serve a purpose, ie. for all the truths to blow up on his face simultaneousy! And usually their threshold for stretching the track is around 40 episodes, so I will still say that I am hopeful that she will emerge the winner this time around too because after atleast Daksh's truth comes out, Shivaay is going to be shattered!!
And eventually, ( but very unlikely in a Gul show) the power may pass on to her too. Maybe she will decide not to give him a divorce and when Tia's truth is out, he will have to transfer his shares to her name to prevent them being lost to Tia or something!
But I ofcourse have my doubts that we will ever get a redemption track at all because to answer your other question, Shivaay can never redeem himself fully after everything he has done. He can regret his mistakes, mourn her loss (and meanwhile maybe help Sahil?) and pray that she forgives him!

Right from the beginning, Shivika had never been a 'takkar ki jodi'. The thing I hated about SSO's 3-day challenge to finish Anika was that ultimately Anika was left with no choice but to work for him. Even though this point wasn't mentioned in an obvious way but if we really look at it, Anika did lose that challenge. I guess it all sort of started from there and ever since then Anika has been at a disadvantage. The most Anika could manage was throwing water or calling him 'bhaagad billa'. But none of it gives actual takkar to anything SSO has done. It's really just dadi who keeps chanting 'takkar ki jodi' all the time.

From the beginning, this relationship has never been takkar ka... anika just defies him but she is no match to this ruthlessness...
their fights started coz of her...she wasnt the one in the queue at temple... she was practicing dance there..n shivaay acted the VVIP...but she butt in when she herself wasnt at the receiving end of his VVIPgiri... thats put him off n he slapped money on her face... it wasnt her money...it was his...she broke his wind shield n slapped his money on his face... then she threw gobar at his car when it was totally uncalled for... but yes post all this he was ruthless and in control always... he made her pay for no mistake of hers...it was coz of his bias she was in jail the whole night while sahil got kidnapped... his mistake he dropped the pen drive at jail and he blamed her for release of the contents to the media...

despite his meanness and ruthlessness...she fell for him...
btw takkar need not be being in control...takkar also means being able to stand up to...anika can deffo stand up to shivaay...she isnt scared of him as she has nuthing to lose...he used the only person she cud lose to his advantage to blackmail her into wedding...

tables will turn when she will deny giving him a divorce coz he has asked for it... n i hope the day Tia fiasco comes out... n daksh's truth comes out...she shud sign and throw the divorce papers on his face... when he least expects or when he wants her to stay back ...she throwing the divorce papers at him will show him his place n will show she is in control...

but yes she needs to be in control for once... he has controlled her too far

And I read twerping's comment earlier and I absolutely echo the sentiments.

What kind of redemption or journey is going to actually be enough?

And it's ironic because I am writing this fanfic which too follows this whole track - but even as I write I constantly struggle with how do you even begin to show a struggling journey of someone like SSO?

Love conquers everything. But is this really love?

Oh and I didn't know about the ring ceremony or what the thick skulled SSO has been up to since the wedding but looking at this list his actions seem to have gone from worse to worse-er!

Oh and by the way! Loved your FF! Especially Rudy! Could you PM me when you update next?

Love,
LJ

Exactly.

I honestly have no idea what he could possibly do to redeem himself at this point. And have you posted said FF on the forum already? If so, please link it to me because I would love to read it 😊

The most confusing thing for me is that before the wedding, he seemed waist-deep in love for her, but after the wedding, he's back to being SSO, and he's standing up again, and taller than ever. I don't understand how he works; the fluctuation and inconsistency in his characterisation is twisting into more dangerous knots everyday 🤢

And thank you so much! I've sent you a buddy request, please accept it so I can send you PMs more conveniently.

Hugs,
Innika

I mean even the segment where he throws her into the pool and everybody is like "oh how romantic and steamy". to me it looked so damn humiliating... He THREW her into the pool on the basis that Tia got an "eye infection" and then made HER ILL.. on the basis of a lie... WHAT IS SO GODDAMN ROMANTIC ABOUT THAT? i mean if I had ever done this to anyone I wouldn't even be able to look myself in the eye. to me even a lifetime of sorrys won't be enough...

I know, right?!

What on earth is romantic about a grown man picking up his wife., and throwing her into a pool, because she supposedly gave his airhead girlfriend an eye infection?

It's extremely humiliating, and Shivaay's been doing the aforementioned for as long as we've seen him. I'm honestly so eager to see how the CVs attempt to redeem him.

Even an attempt at this point is laughable.

I know! That's what Annika's original character sketch was supposed to look like, right? Fearless, and doesn't take shit from anyone.

And now she's pretty much just fitting perfectly into the Gul Khan female lead prototype after marriage - walks around aimlessly, faints a lot, oh, and cries a few litres a day.

It's so upsetting, because Annika was my favourite heroine on Indian television to date, and they've pretty much ruined her at this point 😕

I would love that! And yes, ShiTia, good luck with your reiki-tastic marriage 😆

Trust me, I have watched every single one of Gul Khan's romance shows, and I know. I know.

But one can still hope, right? 😃

Brilliant post, Innika! They were never equals. Not in the sense of power, anyway. Simple 'equals' in a sense that she gives it back to him without backing down. Which again, brings us back to the point you mentioned: "Shivaay offends, Anika defends." She gives it back to him simply as a defense.

But, having said that, I do hope the roles will be reversed. Perhaps the moments you have mentioned were purposely placed to emphasize that the ball was in Shivaay's court all along. He has the power, money and influence to make whatever he did happen.

He is heading towards one giant storm that might break him - Tia's truth, Daksh's truth, a (possible) Vanvaas track. Maybe when that happens, the roles will finally be reversed.

Me too! I really hope that you're right.

I agree with what you're saying about the build-up to his downfall though, the more sins he commits while he is on his high, the more his descent will be drastic. The storm is approaching, and when the floodgates finally break, Shivaay Singh Oberoi is one screwed man.

And then, like you said, hopefully the roles will be reversed, and our lioness returns 😃

I kind of hope that it doesn't have to come to a question of his humanity for him to finally realise that his controlling, overpowering nature destroyed Annika.

But knowing the CVs, they will end up butchering both Shivaay and Annika
