I hate how Omkara/Kunal has been reduced to a mere sidekick. Kunal's talent is not being utilized to its fullest extent. Om as so much potential to be explored as a character but Gul rather focus only on Shivka as they are her favourite pets!

Gul actually know one story. an arrogant monster and bubbly angel. monster even cut down the wings of angel but angel fall in love him and they live together with a little tonned down monster. its her basic plot. all her serials are like fanfictions of one single serial. only background is changed. stry is simply the same and worst thing is the monster is becoming more and more cruel with each passing serial.
what anika is still doing in OM ? even after tia drama? why she is silent and taking taunts from tia and all? urrg.. its not just guls problm.. a big portn of serials are turning like that.. even mahesh bhatts social drama udaan is now showing chakors lob stry with born crimal suraj who slept with her sister, impregnanted her sister then forcefully married her and tried to rape her. 'social drama' aisa hai toh IB kuch bhi nahi
i blame audience for this .. both trp as well as online viewers. they both are accepting these craps. trp viewers ko ek non stop crying, abala naari heroin chahiye and online viewers ko ek drool worthy hero. bus baaki sab chalega

Yes ultimately she ruins it...like zoya not saying anything when asad forced her to get married to ayan or khushi behaving like a non dignified clown post kidnapping(instead of redemption gul preffered to show this)...but I would attribute that to any production house's need for trps and the fact that female characters who are outspoken and strong seldom get trps...take this show for instance,anika fought back everytime..she is gul's strongest but did that bring trps?No...this forced marriage is what made the show the slot reader.

I agree. But there's a different side to the story as well. The QH track which you have pointed out actually didn't gain the show high trps. Infact, Mangalpur and the Asad and Tanveer's fake SR gained the show much more trps. In both those tracks Zoya was shown refusing to marry the groom she shouldn't be marrying. Even the episode in which Zoya points out at Asad's hypocrisy for judging her for the clothes she wears scored good on trps.

The trps of Season 2 of QH started picking up from the week when Aahil saves Sanam's life in the graveyard and takes care of her till she recovers.

Heartbreaking as it was, even Rehaan's death in the show increased the trps of the show. (Yes it was his own mother who accidentally ended up taking his life but that can be called more of a sad irony)

These are some of the few examples which show that drama doesn't necessarily have to be inciteful to increase trps. I don't blame Annika for being petrified and giving in to Shivaay's threat after how she was blackmailed but if she had refused to marry Shivaay at the mandap and had taken a stand, maybe just maybe, that would have increased the trps just as much as well?

Gul introduced a separate track which wasn't even related to the actual story just because she wanted to send out a message on gender equality. And then the same person goes on to say that "Shivaay is back in full form. Bad is the new good" nonsense. Either the PHs get no choice but to succumb to the pressures of channels or they just find it too risky or taxing to come with tracks which aren't same old tried and tested regressive tracks which increased trps of shows.

Excellent post!! Every point you made is bang on target. but all these words fall on deaf ears. Neither gul nor the channel care about content. All they want is for the show run and help them make money.

I won't lie I am om and obbors fan but like shivika in fact they were my favorite couple on IB.I like their nok jok in the starting of the show. Anika was FL i liked on IB. Shiv was is and maybe will be great brother but he is not even good human being. I start to hate shivaya and he is dead for me. From the marriage day no #shivomru it's only #omru for me. He may be grey sided character but that don't gave any excuse what he did to anika. Just because he is a family man who did every thing to save his family's respect but he lost respect from my eyes. Shivaya did not commit only mistake but crime and I will not support criminal. He deserve every punishment and bashing. But I seriously don't feel any pity toward anika.😛 Why not she is fighting for her self. Where is the girl who was strong, hard to break girl. What I saw now is only spineless woman, Who can't even protect her self respect I always thought that love gives you straight but here the so called "love" only making people weak.
Many people says that he is not typical gul hero yes I agree he is even worse than them.😆
P.S. After Arshi and shivika I am proud to say that I am maaneet fan 😎Maan in spite of being gul's hero. He respect geet and protect her in every situation. Maybe maan was egotistic, kadoos akdu what ever but he is much much better than shivaya. And geet she was not strong and independent like anika but she did fight with whole word for her baby. When she thought that maan is trying to save his brother and harm her self respect she left him too because her self respect is important than any thing else. 😛
