Hey Amrita. Yup we met back in MB forum. Shivani here. And I just had to make this post. It is disgusting to see what these people are dishing out in the name of love and romance.

To be honest...I too enjoy the 'sizzling chemistry' between Shivaay and Anika...probably due to the patriarchal mindset we all have inherited. Or probably due to a constant exposure to serials where the HERO rapes his wife n then gets forgiven bcoz...ahem...he is the HERO.

Examples of such glorified marital rape are Pratham-Gauri, Angad-Kripa, Arjun-Kajal, etc...

It took Ekta Kapoor sometime to realize marital rape is NOT funny...after which she changed her storylines n began punishing rapist husbands in her serials. Example: Ansh in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi.

While Ekta learnt her lesson...a new set of directors n producers emerged following her footsteps.

And thus begun an era of 'pinning the heroine to the wall' n then threatening her in 'sexy, husky' voice...

'forcefully pulling hands'...etc etc. I am sure TV serial addicts know what I am talking about.

Problem is even after ringing our voices against it all, nothing seems to be changing. The most shocking aspect it that you have womne supporting marital rapes and abusive relationship because marriage is a sacred bind after all. So a woman suffering forever is no big thing, why because marriage is sacred yo!!

I too enjoyed such scenes in my immature days...bcoz I found them 'sizzling'...But with age n maturity, I realized this is NOT ok. Especially, after last night's episode.

While it was a 'wet, hot' scene...it was blatantly patriarchal. I do enjoy Shivika hot romance but now I am beginning to dislike this glorified portrayal of man-handling.

Ofcourse it is a TV serial n fiction...but wat message is it sending across our viewers?

I am not against showing dark characters or dark stories. They part and parcel of our lives, one has to show that yes but glorifying the same as a love story is what pisses me off the most. Just because there would be a plausible love story between leads tomorrow doesn't mean the production and the channel can get away with anything. Shivaay is torturing Anika and that woman is taking it all like dirt, why because sacred marriage yo! Even if that relation humiliates you to the cote, you cannot break the relationship because marriage is a sacred bond!

After 50 Shades of Grey came out, some men had pointed out that this movie was 'sexy' only bcoz the guy is rich n handsome. Isnt it very true for this case as well? Most of us are applauding n enjoying the sizzling scenes bcoz it is SHIVAAY...the rich n handsome.

What if Daksh had done the same? Would we have defended him too? Ofcourse not.

Exactly!! Just because Daksh isn't the lead if does what Shivaay is doing, it is a crime but with Shivaay it is true love. Are you f**king kidding me or what?? And there are some mocking that it is because of mentality like mine and others that divorces in India are increasing, hello so are you telling me that it is okay for a woman to suffer??? Like seriously??

I enjoy gray-shaded characters. If the producers want to portray Shivaay like Chuck Bass of Gossip Girl, we would applaud it. But it is better to show wrong as wrong. They can very well show a gray shaded Shivay who is taught a lesson for his mistakes...n not someone who is glorified as a HERO despite all.

Probably giving Shivaay the tag of a wannabe rapist would be wrong...bcoz rape is a BIG accusation. But wat he is doing is extremely insulting n wrong. Manhandling is not respectful.

Grey characters are treat to watch. But Shivaay ain't grey. He is pitch black and no nothing, nothing absolutely will redeem him. And I have no shame to brand him as a rapist and chauvinist of sorts because he did threatened to undress and rape her. With a sick mentality as that, why should he be labelled any different from those criminals??

I love Dadi...but I hated it wen she said, 'It is all Destiny'. She should have smacked the hell out of Shivay first.

Dadi and her idiocies make my blood boil more!!
