Gul herself is independent enough to produce shows like these .. and the women in.her shows are.. i dont have any words to describe them😡

Dis Gul 1st ruined Vrushika's career n now she is hell bent on ruining Kunal's career. They don't deserve such treatment. Vo itne aire-ghaire actors nahi hai. Luks like she was regretting showing Ishaana as a grey character so she dropped her character. In QH, she made Seher a conwoman but she later made her a clown who wud even get scared of injection n medicines.

Dadi is truly d worst ib character for me she creeps me to no extent

about d rapist marrying d victim isn't dat going in our country already

The entite family is one of its kind...

I thought janvi would try to support anika.. but no..

Almost everyone in d clan disappoint me..

If the marriage had happend with anika's consent i wouldnt mind omru being chamchas ofFtheir bhabhi.. but now.. every single scene is cringeworthy

Gul is one cry baby. Yeah ishaana charcter din click with me.. but vrushika was finally shedding off her d3 image and trying to give her best to a family drama...

Well gul is one of a kind producer who is a Confused soul herself..

Thank god i din follow qh after zoya died..

And ipk after the marriage..

I din watch geet ever.. neither the male lead nor d story were worth watching...

I have slowly stopped watching ishqbaaz too..

Anyway...coming to the point. I was searching the entire forum for a post like this. I am happy to have found this. BRILLIANT post...👏👏👏

To be honest...I too enjoy the 'sizzling chemistry' between Shivaay and Anika...probably due to the patriarchal mindset we all have inherited. Or probably due to a constant exposure to serials where the HERO rapes his wife n then gets forgiven bcoz...ahem...he is the HERO.

Examples of such glorified marital rape are Pratham-Gauri, Angad-Kripa, Arjun-Kajal, etc...

It took Ekta Kapoor sometime to realize marital rape is NOT funny...after which she changed her storylines n began punishing rapist husbands in her serials. Example: Ansh in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi.

While Ekta learnt her lesson...a new set of directors n producers emerged following her footsteps.

And thus begun an era of 'pinning the heroine to the wall' n then threatening her in 'sexy, husky' voice...

'forcefully pulling hands'...etc etc. I am sure TV serial addicts know what I am talking about.

I too enjoyed such scenes in my immature days...bcoz I found them 'sizzling'...But with age n maturity, I realized this is NOT ok. Especially, after last night's episode.

While it was a 'wet, hot' scene...it was blatantly patriarchal. I do enjoy Shivika hot romance but now I am beginning to dislike this glorified portrayal of man-handling.

Ofcourse it is a TV serial n fiction...but wat message is it sending across our viewers?

After 50 Shades of Grey came out, some men had pointed out that this movie was 'sexy' only bcoz the guy is rich n handsome. Isnt it very true for this case as well? Most of us are applauding n enjoying the sizzling scenes bcoz it is SHIVAAY...the rich n handsome.

What if Daksh had done the same? Would we have defended him too? Ofcourse not.

I enjoy gray-shaded characters. If the producers want to portray Shivaay like Chuck Bass of Gossip Girl, we would applaud it. But it is better to show wrong as wrong. They can very well show a gray shaded Shivay who is taught a lesson for his mistakes...n not someone who is glorified as a HERO despite all.

Probably giving Shivaay the tag of a wannabe rapist would be wrong...bcoz rape is a BIG accusation. But wat he is doing is extremely insulting n wrong. Manhandling is not respectful.

I love Dadi...but I hated it wen she said, 'It is all Destiny'. She should have smacked the hell out of Shivay first.

On a side note, I'd like to mention that Anika isnt exactly weak or stupid in my opinion.

Given her background...an orphan with a physically challenged brother n no stable job, I guess any woman in her place would have wanted to give this marriage a chance. Especially, bcoz she was already in love with Shivaay. She is strong in her subtle ways.

But I hope...the producers make her stronger. She has to give it back to Shivaay. It's been only one day. Let's see what happens next...

Thank you for writing this. I don't know who should be blamed more for this...the channel, production house, or the audience. We live in an age where regression in TV soaps is sky high, all while TV channels are propagating it under the name of new thinking, and audiences are lapping it up without so much as blinking their eyes.

Of course much of the audience's foolishness stems from the slim hope that there shall be some retribution in store, but after countless soaps on the production house's part, it is hard to think that there will be anything new in this show either.

So will I continue to watch IB? Yes, not because I think the male lead is going to turn into a new leaf or the female lead will grow back her lost spine, but because I have a hard time changing my habit of tuning into a show. Thank god for Hotstar though, where you can watch a 20 minute episode in 3 minutes, and use the remaining 17 minutes for ranting about the rubbish that was rolled out.
